《Promise》Chapter 3: salvation is near?

The group were walking through the forest with Allan as their leader. The forest was thick with plants and wildlife. Their progress was slow but steady as they were afraid of getting injured or getting attacked by poisonous snakes or unknown wild animals.
“Man, it is hot in here” Allan thought to himself, it was noon and the sun was right above their heads, in the dense forest, heat was rising up to an uncomfortable temperature. Looking at Maria and Luna near him, it is clear that it had taken a toll on both of them, they are visibly exhausted. “Poor them.” Allan thought. Kyle and Liam ,however, were a bit behind the three of them and they had been talking to each other ever since. Kyle still had that look of anger in his eyes when he look at us,
“What the hell is wrong with you, if you have anything to say with me then speak up, don’t just be a little bitch and grump at me, at least I am contributing, you haven’t lent a hand from the start.” Allan inner voice. But it did not matter to him, he was not the kind of person to hold a grudge and already determined to save everyone including the one he did not seem to trust right now. And when he was determined to do something nothing can stop him from trying.
The group continued on moving through the heat of the forest, Allan sometimes turned to Maria and Luna to chat or say out loud “I got the feeling salvation is near” to boost the morale of the group and to help them get some strength to push through.
“Maria and Luna are not just beautiful but also very smart” Allen thought. While talking to both of them on the way or on break, Maria and Luna had already thought ahead, they reminded me that we should gather some wood to start a fire when it gets dark and maybe try to find some food if we could. Honestly, Allan did not think about that, he always had a feeling that they could get out of there before it get dark, he used to run 10km per day to exercise so this forest should not be that long he think, but he did not realize the slow progress they could only make and thus chances are they could not escape in one day.

“ As expected of a medical student” Allan inner voice. He was glad that he was accompanied by Maria and Luna, not only are they the most beautiful girls he had ever met but also smart and kind to him as well. As for the other two guy Liam and Kyle, the three shared the same feeling of distrust about them, especially when the three remembered the sphere saying “ don’t trust anyone”. They should have separated from the two from the start, they though, the other two contribute absolutely nothing and just giving them additional mental threat and like what Maria had to comment
“ Why does he always look at us with those creepy pervy looking eyes ? It makes me uncomfortable”.
Luna said to herself that it was just like those damn novels she read. In any adventure group, there was always one obvious good for nothing or bad guy that somehow still got to stay with the group and did bad things in the end, killing or hurting someone else. She said to the other two that they should have split up from the start and that they were following the trail of every cliche in those damn action movies of trusting the villain. And oh boy was she right on the money with that statement.
Kyle and Liam just quietly followed the group from behind, not saying much to them which did not help the other three feeling any better, it was as if they were planning to do something to them from behind.
The group kept pushing forward following Allan lead, but all stopped when they saw a gruesome scene. There were bones scattered on the ground in front of them and among them a skull can be seen. Maria and Luna were shocked and screamed at the scene. Allan's face was as pale as snow and looked away. They concluded that this must have been someone who got into an accident or attacked a wild animal and died here. All of them were visibly shaken and wanted to leave immediately, except for Kyle. That crazy bastard climbed down, looked at the skull at a closer range and seemingly took something from the bones.
“ What a psychopath !” whispered quietly by Allan to Maria, “ We should do right away, he could just catch up to us when he finished” Luna said, desperately wanting to stay as far away from the bones remains or was it Kyle she was trying to cut loose off.

The night came in the forest much quicker than they had imagined so much so that they had barely got anything ready. Allan quickly gathered some wood and chose an open spot near where they were at to be the group camping place for the night. But unlike in the TV show, making a fire out of nothing was a much harder task than it looked, Allan and the girls tried their best but to no avail. The darkness was getting closer and closer covering the night sky and the wind was starting to howled, only then did Liam and Kyle offer them a hand and within 30 minutes there was a fire, the first real sign of relief for them since coming here.
“ They are not that useless after all…” Allan said quietly to the two girls.
“ But they could have just helped us from the start “ Luna replied with a relatively angry and loud voice.
“ You didn’t ask” Kyle answered them with a smirk following right behind. Tension grew again after that slight moment of relief from the group as the two were staring at each other. Allan and Liam quickly defused the situation and the five splitted in two groups sitting around the fire, not saying anything to each other. With no food and having walked all day long through the thick forest, all of them seemed to be hungry and tired and quickly tried to make themselves comfortable on the soft open ground around the fire and tried to sleep the hunger and tiredness away.
In deep slumber, Allan was rudely awoken by someone:
“Wake the fuck up Allan !”,
opening his blue eyes, Allan saw Kyle yelling at him while kicking him. Confused and angry by his action, Allan yell back while quickly standing up to face Kyle: “ What the fuck are you trying to do here”, only to be give a calm answer from Kyle while looking at the dark forest tree up a head:
“ We are being watched.”
Allan froze at Kyle's answer and before he could react a loud voice awakened the rest of the group: “ We have been spotted boys ! Let's just get them now.”. From the darkness for the nights, men with weapons start running at them holding knives, swords and bows. There has to be at least a dozen of them, Maria and Luna awakened from their sleep and confused about what was going on. However, they both reacted instinctively when they heard Liam yell: “RUN !”.
The group ran as fast as they could, but the distance was getting closer and closer. It was only a matter of time before they would get caught and then something unfortunate happened. Luna slipped and fell down the ground, the group of mem was only a few meters behind her. Allan and Maria stop themselves at the sense, their hearts skipped a beat at that moment, looking to his right, Allan could not see Kyle and Liam anywhere anymore, they were the first to run and they never looked back: “Scums.” Allan cursed them. Time was almost as if it stood still at that moment, there was no time to think of anything, there was only time for action and at the exact moment, Allan followed his body instinct and moved.
Pain rush down Luna leg, and when she look back two men were coming at her with a knifes in hand, scared, she could not even make a sound, tearing started to rush to her ruby red eyes. The men got right in front of her and one of them swing his knife right at her. Luna instinctively closed her eyes knowing it was the end but nothing happened, she was fined and when she opened her eyes a man back was all she could see, it was Kyle.

Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions."
