《Cultivation Bug Fuyo》Chapter 17 - Meridians

Fuyo's body underwent immediate changes and he felt his stomach shrinking up, he felt wings sprouting from his back and his face growing longer. He found his little arms grow out ferociously like a giant and instant growth spurt. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. He had hands now, which would make everything ten times easier, and he had proper feet so he could practice martial arts again.
"Raaaahhhhh!" Air spiraled around his body and was visibly pushed away from him.
Boom!
Fuyo's body was no longer short, fat and stubby but a majestic and beautiful like a butterfly.
"I..I did it!" He yelled with excitement and happiness.
A second later he felt the energy he pushed through his veins stop, it was unable to move any further. His body started to collapse in on itself. Boom!
He reverted back to his previous form. As fast as it came, as fast as it left.
"Transformation! H..How?"
She sent out her spiritual sense and it moved through Fuyo's body. Fuyo felt like someone had dropped a bucket of cold water on him as the spiritual sense moved through his body like an x ray. Then it disappeared and she withdrew her gaze.
"It's true, your profound veins have been healed. Only gradeless profound veins but this is still amazing!" She paused her speech for a moment as she pondered her next words.
Fuyo looked at her with wide eyes. "What was that I just felt? It's like her spirit entered my body and scanned it. What a scary ability, it's like I couldn't hide anything from her."
"You have broken through to the first level of Qi condensation. Unfortunately, all your meridians are still blocked. Without a single meridian open it would be impossible to maintain a transformation." She sighed as the excitement and hope faded from her eyes.

"How did you fix your profound veins? Even though they are gradeless, it's still a miracle!"
"I...Ah, ate something yummy?" He didn't know how to respond, he didn't know how he fixed them either. Maybe it was the rebirth process? But he couldn't tell her something like that. What would she do when she realized that this world's Fuyo was dead?
"Mmm...That makes sense; you must have found a heavenly treasure on your journey!"
"Ahh, Tuzai-chan you mentioned something called a meridian..... What's a meridian?" Fuyo was being introduced to new terms every second. He had to memorize all this information, it would be very important for his future growth and development.
"The amnesia really did a number on your brain." Her eyes were filled with pity.
"Do you remember your mother at least?"
Fuyo nodded.
"Then that's good." Her worried expression eased up a bit.
"Meridians are the channels connected to your profound veins. A person with one open meridian compared to a person with 2 open meridians is like comparing a toad to a prince." She exclaimed, it was like her words weren't a statement but a fact!
"Doe's one meridian really makes that much of a difference?" Fuyo couldn't believe only one level difference could be such a big deal.
"Yes it does. A person with two open meridians can gather energy twice as fast as normal. Do you know what that means? A person with ten open meridians can gather energy 10 times faster than a person with 1 open meridian because they have 10 different points for the energy to enter. If you try absorbing too much energy into one meridian you could damage it. So you have to take things slowly, but with ten meridians you can absorb ten times the amount of energy with the same amount of effort!"

Fuyo was simply amazed.
"S..so, p..people with all their meridians open?" He couldn't help but ask.
Tuzai started at him like she was looking at an idiot.
"A person with all their meridians opens? It's simply impossible; there has never been a bee like that. Do you know how many meridians there are?"
"No... how many are there?" Fuyo wasn't playing koi, meridians, dantians and profound veins never existed in his past life.
"There are 64 meridians; if a person opened all 64 wouldn't that be extremely unfair to the rest of the world? For every 1 day of training, a person with 1 meridian would have to train for 2 months to catch up to them. Luckily, no such genius exists."
"Why don't they open their meridians then?"
"If they were that easy to open don't you think everyone would have done so already? It's extremely hard to open a meridian; it's like trying to navigate through a maze that's full of traps and dead endings. Even if you find the end you might walk right past it because it's extremely small. If you make a wrong turn then you can permanently injure yourself. The meridians are extremely small points located along the 100,000 km's worth of blood vessels."
"Ah... I see, so they are that hard to find? Can't we just ask someone who's opened their meridians where they are?"
"You could but why would anyone tell you? Information that valuable isn't cheap. A lot of the clans monopolize information and even if you knew the area it could take five years to find its exact point because the exact location is hard to pinpoint."
Fuyo nodded his head; it made a lot of sense. By withholding meridian information they could stop other clans from growing as powerful as them. And other powerful clans wouldn't trade information between each other because they wouldn't want to make the other side stronger. It was a power struggle!
"Tuzai-chan how many meridians do you have open?"
"You ask a lot of questions. Before you hit your head you didn't talk this much." She chuckled and smiled before she sat herself down on the ground and continued talking.
"I have eight opened meridians, four when I was born and four from my birthright ceremony. Most people are like you. They have no meridians open at all, so in some ways I can be considered a genius."
"B..but.." He thought of his vision and saw the three million bees fighting. They had the form of a bee so they must have transformed.
"Ahh.. You must be wondering why there are so many bees flying around right?"
Fuyo nodded his head.
"Like I said, there are two stages. First is the birthright ceremony, the second is coming of age. On your 18th birthday you will form a chrysalis and undergo a full body transformation for 3 years. When you awake you will no longer be a child but a full grown adult. This happens regardless of whether you are a cultivator or not."
