《The Girl Who Jumped Through Worlds》9. Confusion

Th-this can’t be true. Now more than ever I’m convinced that this is a dream. It has to be. I can’t for the life of me think that this may be real. If I have to be honest, I thought about all the different abilities I could’ve possessed. From being able to fly, to walking through walls, to reading minds etc. I didn’t really think about stopping time. Was this even an ability of mine? Had someone else come and used his powers to do so? But then again, how come I’m able to think so freely or even move. Wait, can I even move?
Everyone was frozen. But in a way, Evelyn was frozen herself too. It’s not that she couldn’t move and that she was caught in the spell, she was just too astonished. Everybody just laid there, without moving a single muscle. It was way too weird. Then Eve decided to do what she had to, and she took a step forward. She was actually able to move.
I knew this was on me. But this pops other questions too. For how long will I be able to hold this incantation? I didn’t freaking know.
She then realized that the guard’s knife had almost stabbed Kotlin. It was a matter of inches. She slowly walked there and carefully moved the guard away. But as soon as the touched him, he fell. His shape didn’t change however. It’s like a statue falling down. It didn’t break or anything, he just fell. The most surprising thing is that he was super light. She was able to carry him at ease. She stood there contemplating for some time. And when the realization that the time could start at any time she quickly did the most rational thing she could’ve done. She grabbed the fallen guard and took him to the other one. At the same position he was while he tried to stab Kotlin. Except now, he was about to stab the other guard. She was relatively near them and when she figured that everything was actually going well. Time proceeded normally.

The guard with the knife stabbed his companion whilst Kotlin screamed out of surprise. Eve was taken out of guard too. But she knew she couldn’t waste this opportunity, and while the guard that just knife the other guard was left in awe also; Evelyn took out her dagger and stabbed him as well. She stabbed him multiple times until she felt her dagger gaining something. It was:
AGILITY +10
She had no idea what that meant, but it didn’t take a genius to understand that she had just upgraded her dagger. And she felt that agility immediately. Then she quickly ran to Kotlin who was still confused.
“Kotlin!” said Eve. “We have to get out of here as soon as we can. Other guards may be coming. We don’t have time.”
“What the hell just happened?” replied Kotlin. “I could’ve sworn I had the guard right at my back and he was about to end my life. Then the other instant he transported there. How?”
“I’ll try to explain everything to you. I promise! But we have to get going.”
Kotlin didn’t move.
Then Eve slapped him as hard as she could and it appeared that he came to hisself.
“Why would you do such thing?”
“The exit is right there, I can see it. We have to get out!”
“You’re right, I’m sorry.”
Then they proceeded running as fast as they could. It was then when Kotlin realized that Eve was actually pretty fast. She didn’t notice anything cause she herself wasn’t used to it, but Kotlin was left pretty much behind to the point that she couldn’t hear Kotlin’s screams. When she reached the exit she was more than relieved. But she quickly realized she had messed up. She turned around just to see Kotlin surrounded by what seemed to be 10 guards. She had messed up. Kotlin was getting beaten down and she couldn’t move a muscle. She tried concentrating everything she could onto stopping time again but it didn’t work..

Then a light so strong emits out of nowhere that leaves everyone blind for some good seconds. The next thing, Kotlin was right beside Eve. He was almost beaten to death. But they were out! And somewhat alive. She had no idea what the hell had just happened, as per usual. But she was most happy to see that they were able to escape from there. To her discontent, Kotlin was unconscious. She didn’t know where to head, but everything that wasn’t Dork seemed perfect. So she just proceeded walking the other way.
After a few minutes she was ambushed.
“Halt there!” yelled a voice from behind. “What’s your intent?”
Eve couldn’t turn, all she could do was think; and it wasn’t her forte. Then she remembered what they were actually here for.
“I’m here to talk with Tibius.” said Eve.
“You’re here for master?” exclaimed the other part. “Very well then, follow me.”
Eve turned just to find a girl leading the way. And she followed.
