A Week in...

A nudge on my shoulder as the daily alarm blares, "How do you sleep through that damn thing?" I stretch, smiling at how soft the cot is, "How do you not?" We quickly get into the locker room and then booths. The cold water pours down as Zero tossed me bar of soap. Zero frowns, "I wish they didn't seperate us."

 "So you can get with Foxtrot?" "Duh." "You think it was odd, the cleanup crew." "Some guys just wanted to make a bomb." I shake my head, "We were sprayed down though, something's off." "It's just them covering their asses." I rub my chin.

I get the feeling that he's watching me. "Hey you two!" I turn away from Zero as Tango hustleS over. "Let's go on patrol!" "Hey, relax!" She suddenly grabs hold of our arms. She practically drags us all through the outpost and to the garage.

A man in coveralls, in his 40s, walks up to us, "You guys gotta take the jeep over there." I show him my palms, "Why the jeep?" "The Ratchets did a number on the engine. Gonna be a about two more days." He shakes his head and holds his oil covered hand out, 

"Sorry, it's Norbert." Tango shudders as I shake his hand and point, "Bolt. Zero. Tango." "You need a mechanic, call me guys." I smile, "Thanks." I walk over to the jeep and get in. Tango hops in and sighs as Zero talks away. Wait, is she? I turn and her eyes whip away.

The jeep's way smaller than the armored car. The radio's up front and a mounted gun's out the top hatch. Zero hops in and checks the gun. Tango looks back, "It loaded?" He plops down in his seat, "Yeah."

Norbert opens the garage door and I drive us out while Tango radioes in, "THETA on patrol." *Acknowledged,

THETA.* 

As we get out the gates, a call comes in, *Disturbance at christian church. Outpost Six?* Before Tango picks up the 

radio, I quickly shake my head at her. 

She picks it up anyway, "THETA's on the case" I drive out and sweat drops in my face. Zero smiles in the rear view, "Afraid you'll have to give a confession?" Why am I afraid of a church? "There it is, make a left." I wish I could pass it up.

As we get out, yelling comes from inside the church. I quickly bolt inside and grab onto my head as soon as I see the cross.

A man yelled overhead, "The devil is here!" A woman came up to me, "Don't hurt the keeper!" I cocked my shotgun.

"The flame will save us all! Solomon promises greatness if we feed it!" The priest yells at me, pointing to the man at 

the altar, "Get him out of here!"

Tango looks at me while stepping back, "I thought you got them all." I shake my head and frown, "Not all of them." I 

hop up there and drag him out, "The devil!" I whack him, "Shut up!" After I drag him to the street, I put my gun to his

 head. Tango and Zero rush out, "Bolt- Don't!" 

I keep trying to pull the trigger, but I lower the gun and stare at it, Why can't I do it? "You killed our savior!" He takes 

out a knife and lunges forward, catching me off guard.
