《This world is strange》Chapter 35. Village

As they reached the wheat fields they noticed the road leading into the village, which Joseph saw from looking from the sky. They followed it in. The village consisted of several wooden buildings, a market in the middle, a small temple and an inn, all these main buildings in sort of the middle way. As they reached the first house they saw humans doing everyday stuffs. They went to the inn first, when Joseph remembered.
"There might be a problem. I don't have any money on me."
Catherine stopped and turned to him.
"Then we might want to turn in the core of the goblins somewhere."
"The smith of the village might want to buy it.
"I didn't see any smithy here."
"That's strange, how do they repair their tools if there is no smithy?"
They looked around in the main square. Then Joseph started to go to one of the vendors.
"Wait here I'll ask around."
He stopped at a stall, where a men sit in a chair leaned back behind it. He was wearing farming clothes and on his vendor stall were all kind of vegetables. He looked like he was in his 30s and had a long black beard.
"Excuse me sir. Would you be so kind to tell me where can I sell monster cores in this village?"
The guy leaned forward and looked at him with a bored expression.
"Monster cores, eh?"
He brushed his beard.
"Whats good in it for me'?"
"I don't have any money on me, but if I can sell the cores I can gladly pay you for it."
"Nothing, eh? If ya give me' on of ya cores you're talkin' 'bout I'll tell ya where ya can sell it."
He looked back at Catherine and waved at here to come there.

"What is it Joseph?"
He leaned closer to her and whispered into her ear.
"This guy said he'll tell us where we can sell it, if we give him of of the cores."
"That's it?"
She pulled out one and throw it to the man. He catched it without a problem and looked at it.
"This is core that's for sure! Fine. Ya need to go that way and go into the third house on the right."
He pointed to the left of his stall and then pocketed the core and leaned back on his chair.
"Thank you sir. Have a nice day!"
He muttered something and didn't listen to them anymore. As they were walking Joseph was quiet supprised.
"These villagers seems like doesn't like me being nice to them."
Catherine laughed.
"It's not that they don't like if someone is nice to them, but that you look like a rich prick to them."
"I see. Even if I behave they won't like me because I look like someone with a lot of money."
"It's more of a sound like. You look like a mercenary."
He looked at his armor and clothes.
"Right."
They reached the house the guy talked about. It had a sign with bag full of coins hanging above the door.
"Catherine do you know the currencies and how much would these cores worth?"
"I'm not sure. They change the currencies almost every 50-60 years because it inflation. But it should be a problem, just follow my lead."
They entered the shop and heared a woman speak.
"Good day to you!"
They replied the same and looked around. The shop was a little small with counters all around the place filled with all kind of stuff. In front of the entrance there was a longer counter then the others, behind it was a woman. She looked like someone in their 20s and was wearing brown clothes.

Catherine walked around looked at some stuff. Joseph looked at a rope that was placed on a nail next to the entrance. Below it had a paper, which had a writing on it with english. It said Rope, 3 silver pieces.
'Silver? If it's 3 silver, then silver shouldn't worth much.'
They looked around for a while for other stuffs. Catherine grabbed a lantern and went in front of the counter with the woman.
"I would like to sell 34 lesser monster cores for 10 gold pieces."
She put them on the counter. The woman looked at them, then took out a magnifying glass and examined them all.
"Yes. They are real, but I'm sorry all I can give you is 3 gold pieces."
"That is not enough for it. It was hard to get them. I say 7 and this lantern."
"More of a 5 and you can go with the lantern. I can't go above."
They looked at eachother for a few seconds, then Catherine held out her hand and the woman shaked it.
"Nice doing business with you."
They exchanged the goods and walked out of the store.
"I see you know how to do this very well."
"I've been wandering all around the continent. You pick up several things meanwhile. It wasn't that tricky. I just looked at the prices of the general stuffs and then calculated the difference between these days and the days I knew their prices. Even if the currency changes, the rate of the item's prices shouldn't change that much."
"I see. I kinda realized the value of the silver, but it's a lot harder to do that."
They walked in the inn and ordered some food and drinks. They listened to people gosip about stuffs happening in the continent. They heared about random elfs appearing from nothing all around the place, but noone really know anything.
They decided to buy more stuffs for the road, ask around for directions and buy a map.

It's very experimental so readers; do note. There are major changes in writing style within the series as I keep testing things out. Of course, that does not mean that the story actually deviates from its intended progress. It just means that your reading experience may fluctuate quite often... Anyways, I hope you enjoy this story. :D p.s. not sure if there will be any sex scene in this novel but the boy starts off as 7... so... long time till we get there. May have lollies though! An Id of Primal Chaos
TAG DISCLAIMER: The tags 'Portal Fantasy / isekai', 'High Fantasy', and 'Non-Human Lead' do not take place until later on in the novel. Probably mid-way through the first volume. The 'villainous lead' tag is a very loose tag. Some of the things the mc does can be considered villainous to those with a staunch moral code, however, I have not made the mc out to be overtly villainous. True Title: Advent of the Silent Storm (I came up with the original title a while ago, before I had even written a single chapter. It still kind of fits but this new title fits a lot better. I would change it but I don't know if it would screw up the recommendation algorithm.) Excerpt: My mind wanders through the soup of unconsciousness, still startlingly awake despite my physical form’s stasis. Electricity completely paralyzes the air around me and lightning flashes in a constant strobe of blinding light. The ground, thousands of feet below my being has been wiped clean of all manmade artifice and natural beauty; leveled, through absolute power. My power. Synopsis: Tetal Faelen, a very successful businessman with lofty goals, is introduced to an omniscient being through less than pleasant means. This being has an irresistible offer for Tetal with next to no downside. Tetal can’t help but wonder, “What’s the catch?” Additional Notes: Second novel I have started within the Web of Interconnected Realities. My other novel is not posted on this site so don't bother looking for it. I might post it here in the future.

Damned he be by the Gods if they wanted him dead. -new synopsis 10/6/2016 ---------- A new chapter would be released every friday. And the quality of writing should improve each time, hopefully.
