《This world is strange》Chapter 78. Party Part 1/2

All of the people were at the tables eating the buffet that was on the table with small skewers and talking eachother.
Most of the people were humans, but some of them looked like Roland and some elves were mixed in as well. They all weared dresses, suits and masks. There were a few young people around as well, they looked like they were around 15.
Joseph and Catherine walked to the tables and looked around the people, there were no familiar ones, but they could miss someone, because of the masks. After they looked around they started to eat as well, imitating others with the manners.
Joseph felt comfortable, it was like one of the meetings in his office, nothing strange. There was food, people he doesn't know and they are waiting for the boss. He almost started to laugh at the thought how much the two were alike.
But Catherine was different. As he looked at her, she was moving were rigid. He saw that she wasn't used to this kind of events. So he leaned closer and whispered in her ear.
"Don't worry that much, just behave naturally. They will notice you sooner if you are like this."
She swallowed the piece of meat that was in her mouth, then turned away from him.
"I know! Don't worry about me! I'm the great witch Catherine!"
'There she comes with that again. I thought she stopped with it. It might be a nervous thing?'
As time passed, more and more people started to come into the room, until there were more than a hundred people in there. They were all kind of races and ages, but it seemed like there weren't any childrens coming.
After the half hour went by the room was almost half with people who were all around the place waiting for Roland and his family to come.

As the time has come a bell was ringing outside of the house as one of the doors on the upper floor has opened and four people entered with simple white masks on them. They were the family of Roland.
On the front Roland was coming with a human woman. She was Roland's wife Rena as People around them started to talk about her. She looked beautiful. Her blue eyes shone out from under her golden hair and her white skin made a good contrast with the black dress she was wearing. The dress was built for her and it highlighted her woman charms.
Behind them came a young man. He looked human, except that he had two wolf ears on top of his golden hair and a lush tail behind him. He had the same skin and eyes as his mother, but it looked less flashy.
Finally at the back came a young girl, who was around the same age as the other teenagers in the room. She had the same characteristics as the young man in front of him, except that she had long black hair. Her look was quiet amazing for her age and her face looked just like her mother's, but she was missing the elegancy her mother had. Also the red dress she was wearing did not emphasised her body out as much as her mother's.
When Roland reached the railing of the upper floor he looked around smilling, before he started to talk.
"My dear family and friends! It is good to see that you all have come here on this wonderful night!"
He looked at Joseph and Catherine for a moment.
"As all you know we hold this event to congratulate my son, Ronald for graduating from the Mileniar Wizard Tower as a full fledged wizard!"

He motioned towards his son, who walked next to him and smiled at everyone just as his father.
"I'm honord that all of you have came to celebrate with us. I know that everyone have already been waiting for quiet a while, so I won't say anything else. Please enjoy yourself tonight!"
Roland looked like he was still planing to say something, but changed his mind, after his son ended his short speach.
They all started to descend on the stairs.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

Et Non Lucem
A lonely fortress, a (slightly) deranged assassin, secrets, intrigue, magic and war. What could possible go wrong? If you've ever wondered what would happen if somebody attempted to blend a realistic medieval world with fantasy, then this is for you. If you've ever wondered what happens when you stick some (extremely) flawed humans into positions of power and try making them save the world, then this story is for you. Or if you're simply bored and can't seem to decide on a new story to read, then this story is for you! This is my first ever attempt at writing a story after years and years of reading, so any and all constrictive criticism is appreciated!

(un)Lucky
After dying on his hospital bed, Jack is surprised to once again regain consciousness. Turns out he’s in purgatory where he learns that God has been pretty into gaming lately… you already know where this is going, don’t you? Yeah, yeah, I know, another LitRPG story like many others. SO original… But why then do we keep reading them and looking for more? The answer, for me at least, is because they’re usually just plain fun. That’s all I hope my story can be: fun. No fixed releases for now, nor any future plans. I’m just trying to enjoy my time writing it. Btw, the cover is something random I did and has absolutely nothing to do with anything. Don’t ask me why.

Core Microsystem
Amara has spent most of her life with her parents, either switching the time they spent with her or leaving her alone most of the time. On her sixteenth birthday, her parents were a no-show. But to make up for their no-show, they did give her a gift. A gift that was going to be coveted by a lot of people who played virtual reality games. This gift would allow her to become something, to be someone in the world. To not be the kid whose parents have left her to fend for herself since she was ten. When the new game, Core Microsystem, came out, there was a twist. A twist that changed a lot of people’s lives. When a player went to create their character sheet, a random generator would offer them the chance to become a dungeon core in this new world. Watch as Amara creates her dungeon and how that affects her life in the real world.

Life is Feudal
No OP stuff, status bars, levels or skills. This story is in favour of more realistic setting in a world of humans and various monsters. "Behind the mask of the assertive, resolute facade that employs ruthless routes at any given moment, lies the frail, anxious heart that were once but a puny human. Reviled and revered by many, none would ever know my true allegiance lies within myself, merely trying to survive this mess." Just the life of a grumpy man child living in a terrible piece of shit or a desolate state in which I call an alternate historical take on medieval Europe. Living as a peasant who is forced to take up arms to defend his own kin. This story grants an insightful take on the life of people living under constant danger, from vying nobles who commit atrocities in the name of justice, eager nations and barbarians aiming to take a piece of the bountiful land and mythical divine monsters who resembles a walking catastrophe in any possible way. [If you're easily offended by alternate-history religion and cultural practices, then you shouldn't read this.]
