The rest of the night went by fast. After the party they've returned to their lodging and slept until morning.

After a few more days of practice they returned to Krishmar. Joseph's core finally upgraded fully and now it made his mana capacity 150% more than the base. Now he had 1025 mana, which Catherine said was a good base for some more advanced spells, than the ones he has been using.

Now he was capable of controlling plants, the climat in a smaller range and use spells that hit heavier than the ones he has been using. Also now his concentration is somewhat better, so he can make spells faster.

When they returned, they looked for jobs to complete, but they've only found simple ones, like helping different people with some giant rats and wolfs. They accepted these ones and went around the city killing the pests everywhere, where it was required.

After a week there weren't any easy tasks left. Emilia gave them silver medalions and said that the guild master got some recommendations for them so they got promoted.

They knew it was Roland's work and were thinking about what would he want them to do in exchange. It was clearly a setup by him, so they would be in debt for him.

After a few more days they got a letter from Ronald to go to his mansion in the city for a chat. He has some business to talk about and he wants to talk about it in person.

They arrived to the mansion next morning and he was already waiting for them with a stack of papers in front of him, in the same room last time they met with him.

They greeted eachother and sat down. Roland grabbed a paper and read the headline on it.

"I have a lot of work, so I'll get straight to the point. We have found a burried city with the same symbolism as the golem you have seen the other day. I want you two to make the place safe for my archaeologists to examine it."

He gave them the paper.

"You will get compensated for it fairly and depending on what you find you might get even more payment. If you manage to fully explore the place and disarm all the traps, then you'll recive five tousand gold."

They weren't suprised by the amount. After all the place might be one of the most dangerous place on known at the moment.

"If you don't explore the whole place and have problems with continuing, depending on what is the problem, we'll give you any assistance to get through. If we can't find a solution, then you can choose to close the investigation from your side and recive the payment. But I hope there will be no problems like that."

The two of them looked at eachother and then Joseph spoke smiling to Roland.

"We might have some different idea for the reward."

"And what might that be?"

"I have an acquaintance of mine in jail for fighting with one of the noble families. As far as I know he was just defending himself, but they throw him in jail nonetheless."

Roland narrowed his eyes and went through a few papers on the table. Finally grabbed one and read it.

"It might be a problem to get him out, if it was an other family that got him in there, but I might be able to get him out, if that is what you want in exchange."

Joseph noded.

"It would be most appreciated."

Roland sighed.

"Alright. Now I'll speak about the details of the work."

They spoke about it for a few more hours.
