《Heir of the Dragon》Chapter 20

The ground began to shake; the painful hissing of the injured giant snake seemed to be answered. The roots jumping out like whips from underground were sticking to Mel's body.
In less than ten seconds, he was captured from head to toe by the roots. Only at where his heart was, there was an opening of one inch.
"So, you are going this far, ha? Then you have entered the cycle of death too!"
Mel was calm, but the giant snake was trembling madly with excitement. When it thought it was going to die, the trees abide its call for help as a last resort.
The young boy could feel the snake coming towards him. The boss snake, which could not dash forward, unlike it did before, could only crawl slowly.
“You have made your choice! My old friend! Your time has come!”
As soon as his murmur was over, the green energy overflowing from Mel's body began to move into the roots. The places it passed were turning red and then this energy flow got in the ground.
The roots fell like dried leaves. The muscular body of the young boy was exposed. As the boss snake covered half of the distance between Mel and itself, it suddenly froze. It turned its head and looked around.
The trees that answered his call were decaying moment by moment, falling to the ground as piles of wood. Green energy was turning into red and traveling towards Mel, who was the source.
“I didn't want to touch you. But you chose this end. You can't say I'm not patient?"
The tree in the cave, which Mel planted to the garden of the energy palace, was swaying from one side to another. It was in a very happy mood after absorbing the energies of all the trees in the twenty-meter radius.
“Now, let's come to you, boss snake! Your life ends here!”
The giant snake leaned forward as if asking for forgiveness. But Mel took the distance in one step and stabbed his right hand in its head.

"Sorry, it's not possible after all this!"
Mel's calm and reserved nature was completely changing for those who were on the death cycle. With his firm and determined stance, he adopted the principle of solving problems before they grow.
"I am taking your core. You will continue your existence in another form!"
Mel, who had killed the boss snake and dried all the trees in the vicinity, calmly pulled out the core without haste. There was nothing to be afraid of. After seeing what happened to their kinsmen, even the remaining trees realized that they had met with someone they shouldn't bother
"With the boss, the subordinate snake, and the plant-shaped creature, I got three cores. Now nine cores are left!”
When Mel realized that his hunting chances in the vicinity were over, he put the corpse of the boss snake in his ring. Then he sat cross-legged and rested.
Later at night, the young boy meditated in preparations for tomorrow. He had no intention of spoiling his daily routine. Two hours later, when the first light of the sun hit him, he opened his closed eyes. Both arms, starting from his shoulders, were glowing in a deep red color.
“I couldn't absorb them all. But even that was enough to satisfy me. I hope you try your luck again! ”
Speaking at the trees twenty feet away, Mel annealed his arms with some of the energy absorbed by his friend in the cave.
When he looked at himself, he was quite satisfied with his developing limbs. He was continuing to become more like a dragon day by day.
"It's time to go a little deeper. I'll return at dawn!"
He left the space he had created. The sun rays were trying to slip through the branches, but there was no activity in the vegetation.
Hardship always spoils the game makes others change their plans. Seeing that the enemy was a deadly type for them, the trees seemed to suspend their dealings with the wild creatures for a while.
So a whole day passed this way and when the night came, Mel had a total of fifteen monster cores in his ring.

“It was kind of easy! Fortunately, there was no opponent in the strength of the boss snake. They were all on the same level with the first snake I killed! ”
On the way back, he continued to evaluate and analyze his time in the forest until he reached the city walls made of giant rocks.
"Brother guard! I have come!"
The young boy shouted with joy when he saw the man he had promised to come back. Mel was not the only person who had this feeling. The guard, who couldn’t stop Mel from going to the forest, was just as happy that the boy who did not change his mind arrived safely.
"I am certain that he just wandered on the borders of the forest and then came back. I will never understand these young people's passion for fame!"
The man next to the mustached guard was tasked for today and obviously thought that Mel was just after showing off.
"Just forget about him. He has been like this for as long as I can remember!"
The middle-aged man checked Mel's vital points first with his eyes, then with his hands; but did not find any traces of injury. Although he was very surprised, he was trying not to show it.
"Brother guard, when will you leave here?"
Surprised by the question, the man spoke up with one eyebrow up.
"Why are you asking?"
Mel put on an embarrassed expression and answered
"I have no place to stay. Can I stay with you tonight?"
While his friend laughed out loud, the mustached guard’s face fell off. He gave Mel an inch and now Mel was taking a yard. Still, since he did not have the heart to reject him completely, he responded jadishly.
“I can only host for one night. My watch will be over in two hours. So, wait calmly until then!”
The young boy, whose request was accepted, slowly moved into a corner and began to meditate. Two hours would pass in the blink of an eye.
"Kiddy, let's go!"
The words, that came out of the guard's mouth habitually, made his friend standing next to him burst into laughter once more. When the boy he was calling out stood up, he had almost the same height as the mustached guard. Having the same height as the person he was addressing as ‘Junior’ was a little strange.
The guard continued to gaze at his surroundings as he walked through the streets. Those who saw him, especially the people of the settlement, showed their respect.
As they advanced down the back streets and reached the rundown area of the settlement, the atmosphere changed in a flash. Here, no one cared about the guard. The mood of the man also changed completely; that solemn-looking person went and was replaced by a low-shouldered type.
"Hey Can, look here!"
When a man, who looked like over his fifties, shouted at the guard, Mel learned the name of the man next to him. The man ran towards the person calling him. But his return to the place where Mel was standing was going to be very slow.
Mel heard what was spoken, but as no one expected he could hear it, he pretended like he didn’t understand what was happening.
"Honey, I'm home!"
After his actions and demeanor, the guard’s voice had also changed completely. As he was knocking on the door that was opening to stairs descending to an underground, he had become a completely different person.
A blue-eyed woman with gray hair opened the door. A question mark appeared on the face of the woman who first looked at the man and then at Mel.
"Let's go inside, I'll tell!"
The middle-aged man spoke like a spring breeze and touched her shoulders. Then he entered the house while Mel was still waiting at the door.
"What are you waiting for, kid? Get in!"
