Watching my mother laugh with Emma, I smiled and continued sipping on my tea. "Ace, you really remind me of your father!" she laughed as she talked about father who I had no idea about, "He was a great man… sadly that demon killed everyone because he found them as a threat" Liel shook her head as she said that with a sad voice.
"Mother, who is that demon?" I asked while looking at her, "No one important, he died along with the ancient and elder trolls" she replied.
Ancient? Huh… it seems like my mother is not a troll, "Mother, what is your race?" I asked as I looked at her, "... I am from the archangel race" she said in a depressed voice. Sigh, what kind of complicated bloodline do I have, "Enough of this nonsense, let me introduce you to my children that I adopted… come mother we will leave, Black Castle!" I changed the topic and called the black castle before the door appeared.
"Follow me mother, I will show you the world" I held my mother hand and Emma on the other hand before I entered the door with them. "Take us to Rain," I said as I gave my mother the throne to sit on while I sat on a chair that I pulled away from the table.
"Mom, can I ask you something?" I looked at my mother as I asked her, "Please do ask" She giggled as she looked at me. "Why did they capture you?" A question that I had in my head since the day I discovered she was caught.
"Sigh… I can tell you everything but promise me to not do anything stupid…" She looked at me with worry as she wanted me to promise her. "I won't do anything stupid," I said as I looked at her, "Promise me" She looked with squinted eyes.
"Mother, if the reason is something beyond my power, I will wait till the day I fix it but if I can deal with future troubles now… I will deal with it" I said without promising, "Sigh… the reason behind everything started with your father family, they were considered too powerful and due to their race, they were considered immortals… until the day 'he' appeared" Mother said as she shook her head.

Emma sitting near heard it and she sighed as if she knew that I am already thinking of killing due to my aura. "That being was capable of killing your bloodline, with a price… his life, due to the 7 factions fear, the family was hunted from every single faction, beings beyond your imagination but in the end, several perished and only 3 were left, Dark faction, Light faction, and Trinity"
Huh, three factions? "Mother, what about the adventurers guild?" I asked her as I looked at her with interest. "They have perished as well"
『Nope, we are still here but due to our numbers being low we aren't considered strong… but they are mistaken about one thing... you』
My eyes flickered and a smile appeared on my face before it was washed up by my mother next words.
"I was special, powerless but due to my relationship with your father I was considered a traitor to all factions." Mother said as she looked down, "The reason why they captured me and looked for you is that I am the only being that is capable of opening the gate of the…" she stopped and her face turned pale before she went silent.
『Ace seems like the void supervisors have caught onto your mother words… do not ask her more than you did, when the time is right you will know』
"Its ok mother, no need to continue" I stood up and hugged her before the door appeared behind us. "Come, let us meet the family," I said as I helped her up before helping Emma and left the door appearing in the middle of the adventurers guild tavern.
"Guild Master!" The staff said in unison as they shocked the people around us. I nodded at them and walked towards the stairs before going upstairs with my mother and Emma.
Knock, Knock… "Come in" A voice was heard from the inside, I opened the door and saw Viktor laying on the couch while his sister Rain was writing on a paper. "Hmm, Father!" Rain looked surprised before she stood up with a smile.

Bang! Viktor fell from the couch and then stood up while scratching his head feeling embarrassed. "Come, let me introduce you to my mother, your grandmother, this is…" I was shocked to find my mother in a blink of an eye hugging both Viktor and Rain while caressing their heads. "Oh, my sweet little children…"
I smiled and nodded, "Emma, I will be leaving you here with them, I will need to check up on the situation within the base… ok?" I said to Emma as I kissed her on the head fast. "Take care," She said with a smile and nodded.
Leaving the guild, I walked around the base, it was big… very big. "Rose, estimate the population of Rain area" I asked while I put on earphones, "91 million". Sigh… let us walk first, after moving for a few km, I noticed how the walls around the base are sturdy, mixed in with bones huh.
"Let go!" I heard a sound behind me and turned to look, a kid was drunk while trying to pull a lady. "Shut up before I beat you up, do you know who my father is?!" he said as he smirked before slapping her.
I walked towards him and the mask appeared slowly on my face, while the cloth I was wearing changed to a tattered one. Grabbing the kid from the neck I lifted him up and began walking, "Hey! Don't touch me! I will call my father now!" the kid shouted as he struggled, walking for a while I reached the walls where the soldiers were situated.
The soldiers looked at me and raised their weapons, "Halt!" They shouted, I ignored them and walked up the wall on the stairs before I reached the top and saw someone familiar. "Bolzru. It has been a while huh" I said with a smirk as I threw the kid on the ground who rushed behind the soldiers.
The shocked soldiers lowered their weapons as they heard my words, "Haha! Guild Master!" Bolzru saluted me and then looked at the kid behind the soldiers. "Something wrong guild master?" Bolzru asked while looked at the kid, "Since when did the people use their identities to abuse the population here?" I said as I took out a cig while watching the monsters and soldiers fighting down the wall.
Bolzru understood and looked at the soldiers "Take him away, find his parents and get them here". The soldiers paled and nodded before moving fast while holding the kid.
Ignoring the screams of the kid I sat on the wall and watched the fight down, too many F classes and little E classes. The shield is working well, "Gui.." I stopped him, "Call me brother, no one is around" I smiled as I crossed my legs together while smoking.
"Yes, brother we have an issue," Bolzru said as he sat next to me. "Hmm, what's up?" looking at him confused I asked.
"Low supply of medicine, weapons, and armors," Bolzru said as he shook his head. Hmm… "Rose, what is the amount of medics in this base?" I asked rose through the earphones as I looked at the battlefield.
"28 medics bellow level 5, 4 medics bellow level 10 and 1 medic level 13" Rose replied. I nodded and answered Bolzru, "We will solve the medicine issue by supplying you with medics, the weapons and armor will be sent within a few days to reach base after we have an estimate of how many will be available BUT the strong weapons will be gained by merits, I don't want to see corruption here Bolzru!"
Bolzru became serious and nodded, Throwing the cig, I jumped from the wall and entered the battlefield while smiling, Bolzru followed from behind. "Time to exercise," I said as a smile appeared on my face.

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse. Just an endless procession of little ones.”― Neil Gaiman, Signal to Noise. I am absolutely new to writing and will take any and all constructive criticism. Please give feedback, it is greatly appreciated. I will update the tags as they change, and I hope that you enjoy this little story I'm writing! Quick warning: Seamus is intentionally a flawed character, and this story is going to explore those flaws and perhaps even change a few of them. I do not agree with all of his actions, but it is what it is.
