《Adam is the Protagonist》Chapter 43: Event Starts

Sounds of glasses clinking and men occasionally laughing sounded out inside this establishment.
Adam took a sip from his drink, "Interesting, a few moving pieces across the board. Should be good practice."
Adam then continued to think about his next few moves in detail. The first thing that he should do is divert the attention of the people following him. A simple way to do that was to divert it to Zane and Eve's way.
Adam then finished off his drink and left a few coins at the table. He then left the pub to find Eve and use her to get rid of the people following him. Losing them right now would be far too easy but that would raise suspicions.
After tracking their direction he swiftly went there, currently, they were just casually looking around the stalls and buying things that they wanted. They started to walk and strayed a bit going to the side of an alley. Adam took this opportunity to lose the spies here.
The plan worked like a charm which led the spies to follow them instead. After losing them, he then switched his attention to the rumored person coming to the kingdom. There might be a place where Adam could possibly use him.
First and foremost, he should be able to lure him to the circus. Though unlikely, it would be something that would simplify his next moves. Since Mathias travels alone, it would need to be something that would lure him.
What could attract the attention of an up and coming genius mage, well there would be nothing more enticing than knowledge.
"I guess it's my time to act my part."
Adam went back to the giant tent that was set up in the middle of the Kingdom of Luxury's inner area. As he got closer, the people started to become more and more compact as the area outside. The visible excitement was becoming more and more vivid, even though it was set to open for a few more hours.
Under the oblivious eyes of the spectators, Adam slipped by them and entered the circus. There he saw Rosaline frantically calling out people to their stations making sure that their performance would be up to par with what they were advertising.
"Well Rosaline, how's everything going?"
Rosaline immediately looked back with beads of sweat flowing down, "Eh? Fine, it's fine. Completely fine. How about your little trip? Found anything interesting?"
"I couldn't help but see how diligent you were at rilling up the crowd. I commend your network for spreading this little event to so many ears."
"Hah, of course, I would be able to do something as trivial as this!"
"Good now spread the word that a grand magician will appear. This isn't too much trouble, is it?"
Rosaline now puffed her chest in confidence but was visibly exhausted, "Yeah... no problem whatsoever."
Adam promptly turned his back and walked off, "Then I wish you luck on finding a grand mage. I'll be off now."
Rosaline's heart dropped when she heard this, "Ha? Surely you jest, right? Right?"

Adam stopped in place and said, "Of course I am, obviously I'm playing the part. Everyone else who's worthy is already working under someone else. Except for Maghim's king, he's the exception."
She sighed a breath of relief the ordered her people to spread the word of a grand mage capable of feats not yet comprehended by other mortals would be appearing in this event. Rumors had spread that he's going to be conducting a little show that could or could not show the potential of common folk.
When this advertisement started to flow through the ears of everyone in the kingdom, even low nobles started to consider whether they would be joining. Even royalty had heard of this, although they were slightly interested it wasn't worth their time.
As the circus' popularity grew so did the doubts surrounding those rumors. Now people were starting to get divided, although it would be something of a grand event, the sheer amount of advertising, rumors, and promises surrounding it was so high, it was something even royalty would have had a hard time recreating.
As the negative backlash, Rosaline decided it was time to double down on something she was sure that would even exceed their own already astonishing expectations. She prepared herself and used everything at her disposal to make herself as presentable as possible.
Now it was only an hour before the event started. The closed tent finally opened as a graceful figure appeared in front of everyone. A woman who had such a bewitching attire, proportions equal to those of perfection yet short curly hair that gave her a childish look appeared.
"There's only an hour remaining till we open our doors, I guarantee this will be something that would go down in history. And as per the grand mage's request, he will only appear in this one event and would no longer reappear. Thank you for your time."
She then went back inside the tent as quickly as she appeared leaving awe-struck spectators at the scene. Somehow doubts towards the event wavered by the simple appearance of a woman. A few nobles even declared that she was going to be their bride.
Rosaline dropped kneeled while contemplating, "God! They finally shut their mouths. I can't handle the stress anymore. I was supposed to be in the shadows, I was too impulsive signing that contract!"
Adam felt bad and said, "I guess this was too much for you. A little help wouldn't hurt, right?"
Adam manipulated the mana in the air and slowly formed a light blue orb. He used his finger and gathered some more mana from the air and skillfully like an artist started to carve out the light blue orb with a contrasting darker hue.
Rosaline looked up, "What's that?"
"You wanted them to shut up, right? I'm making something that'll leave them speechless."
Adam continued to carve out a light blue orb even more and a figure then started to appear. A clean slice slowly formed Rosaline's face and a few more strokes mimicked her hair. With a few more delicate precise motions, her upper half was created, even more, appealing than the actual person.

With a pristine figure in his hands, he then covered everything in a black veil.
Rosaline's initial stress turned into utter amazement, "Uh, where did you learn to carve like this?"
"I read it somewhere."
He slowly rose the carving in his hands into the air, initial empty air above the circus had a being veiled in black, still, this was something that caught everyone's eyes. After a few minutes of appreciation, the veil moved slowly revealing the figure behind it.
Rosaline just realized that Adam was using her to act as the mascot and to appeal to even more people. Though it should've been something that was disrespectful, it was a way to help her raise the stakes even more.
"Is everything ready? I still have to brief you on how the other business is conducted."
"Eh? So early?"
Adam proceeded to explain to Rosaline the method he had implied and apparently the floating figure above them was something that furthered his plans even more. After she heard all the details, she was again reminded just how far Adam plans, it was to the point of what they'll do if royalty's decided to remove them.
As the last of the veil was finally removed, Rosaline's figure above the circus spoke, "Welcome, all! May your patience be rewarded and your wishes be granted. I humbly entice you to enter the wonders of the unknown and witness the skills of masters. Please know that this is first come first served."
Rosaline was once again slightly amazed, "I-It can talk? And even exactly like me?"
Everyone else in the circus ignored their boss being awestruck since they now had to perform feats that they all were preparing for only 6 hours.
The onlookers finally waited long enough, it was finally time for them to enter the event with pockets full and curiosity peaked. The nobles that were behind finally started to act.
A rowdy man started to push people away from him, "Get out of the way! Nobles first!"
A nearby noble beside him, obviously a teenager said, "I have a feeling that you'll regret this."
"Bah! They should learn their place! I'm going first!"
The teenage noble didn't persuade him any longer and continued to look at the figure above the circus and kept thinking to himself.
The rowdy noble with his men finally reached the front and another female staff appeared to intercept him.
"Oh! Some special service, eh? Finally! A place that knows who to cater to!"
As he was about to touch her, a young guard appeared to intercept him. He swatted the noble's hand away which made the noble agitated.
"Sir, please go to the back of the line. As the announcement had been made, it's first come first served. This is your first warning so I'll let you off."
"You dare disrespect me! Men! Punish him!"
The noble's own men started to apprehend the young guard that was sent out but to their surprise, the guard just stood his ground.
One of the noble's men touched the guard's shoulder, "Listen, buddy. You're on the wrong side here, you should've just stayed still and didn't get involved."
The young guard replied, "Oh? Why is that? Did you think a bunch of inexperienced brats could take me on?"
The noble's men got agitated and decided to heavily injure the young guard in front of them. The young guard just sighed and did the same thing to the noble's hand, he swatted them all away as if they weren't even threats.
"You done? Beasts could hit harder than you."
As the guards once again tried to attack the young guard, he decided it was enough fun and knocked them all out in one swift motion.
"Last warning, go back or you're getting knocked out."
The noble knew there wasn't anything else he could do so he decided to just go back. He went back to his place and everyone in the crowd applauded the circus' integrity and decided to enter in one at a time.
The rowdy looked at the teenage noble, "You knew this would happen, didn't you?"
The teenage noble pondered while still looking at the veil on Rosaline's veil above the circus, "To be honest, I didn't. I expected them to have some people to keep the peace or at worst have their grand mage deal with you but instead, they had this kid make fun of you."
The rowdy noble grumbled and kicked one specific man, "Bah! Hey, wake up! You're done faking."
Despite this, this man didn't wake up. The rowdy noble then had a chill sent down his spine. This was a man who wasn't like the others instead, it was one of his father's most experienced assassins. Having him down like this in front of an unknown boy from the circus made him understood that this circus had something else lurking behind it.
The teenage boy then looked at the man the rowdy noble was kicking and started to also become slightly out of breath, "T-That's one of your father's men, isn't it? Please tell me I'm losing it."
The rowdy noble stopped kicking him and decided to head back instead of pursuing any women here, "You're not. I'm going home, this isn't worth it."
"Are you sure? Our friend won't like it if you don't do things for him. Like finding any interesting maidens or finding out if this circus was worth it."
The rowdy noble started calling for help with his magical scroll, he contacted his father was just now waiting for aid to come, "I'll make it up to him. There's something off about that circus. Hell! That figure made out of mana is freaking me out!"
"Is that so? Then I hope you'll make it up to me."
Both nobles were in shock, "Prince!"
