《Red Overpowered》Chapter 26 - The first disaster 3

"Hiiii !"
The horses whinnied as the soldiers riding them shouted. Heading towards the mass of monsters. While a second wave of flame was launched by Élias. Burning many monsters once again.
The fateful moment had come, they had now collided with the wave. The monsters injured some horses, causing them and their riders to fall to the ground.
While some soldiers were already exchanging the first blows with the swarms of monsters. The plain had become a real battlefield. While the archers still on the wall were raining arrows continuously.
"Ahhh!" Shouted Élias who was the first to jump into the battle.
He faced several monsters at the same time accompanied by his men. Cutting with his flaming sword all the monsters that were within his reach. Under the eyes of his men who followed him in the battle.

Fire.
Nevertheless, deaths among the soldiers were inevitable. Several men had already been overwhelmed by monsters. The only certain outcome for them was death. Some had their heads torn off, or other parts of their bodies, either arms or legs. While some were entitled to much more gruesome deaths.
"We are surrounded, it's the end..." Moaned one of the soldiers in distress.
"No don't say that we still have a chan..." (Soldier)
The man couldn't even finish his sentence when two spikes pierced his eyes. His body being lifted by an arachnid monster under the horrified eyes of the other soldiers. As his whole body shook, the spider cut him in half, spilling all of his entrails onto the ground. The soldiers all died one by one in equally horrible ways, some even being eaten alive.
"Ahh, noo, noo!" Moaned a soldier.
His belly had been opened while the monsters were quietly devouring his entrails. While he was still conscious watching his own slow and painful death.
"Hold on!" Elias shouted as death rained down on his men.
While he found himself surrounded by ferocious beasts. Black wolves spanking 3 times the size of a man, the first hungry wolf lunged at him.
"You're too impatient!" He shouted, slicing his head off with a sharp blow.
The wolf's head rolling on the ground in a spray of blood. All the wolves pounced on him at the same time so as not to make the same mistake as their brother.
"Spears of fire!" (Élias)
Spears of fire shot up from the ground and impaled the wolves who could not move.

"Explosion !" (Élias)
The flames then embedded themselves in every part of the wolves' bodies. Burning them from the inside, killing them all instantly.
However, other monsters had already taken their place. Surrounding Élias again, as these men continued to face death in spite of fear.
"I'm waiting for you, come on you bastards!" (Élias)
Royal capital.
The night over the capital was soft and the royal castle silent.
"My king! My king!" Shouted someone as they knocked on the door to his room.
"What do you want from me at this time of the night!" Said the king as he opened the door furiously.
"Excuse me for disturbing you, but the situation is urgent! One of our cities is under attack by an army of monsters!" (Messenger)
"You should have said it earlier! Summon General Zem immediately!" (King)
"Yes my king!" (Messenger)
In the aftermath, the entire castle woke up and went into action. The entire army of the capital was summoned as quickly as it could. The soldiers armed themselves with their armor and weapons, riding their horses as fast as they could. But it was going to take some more time.
Zem, the king, and some generals held an emergency meeting about the information that had reached them.
City of Níre
"Infernal wave!" (Élias)
Fire slowly escaped from Elias' body covering the ground before gathering. The result was a gigantic wave of fire. This attack literally resembled a tsunami, the wave measuring more than 15 meters high.
"Go soldiers!" He shouted.
The soldiers without the slightest hesitation stepped into this path created by their leader. Despite the loss of their comrades, they continued to advance. While their number had already been reduced by half.
While another wave of flame washed over the monsters, which seemed to be getting pushed back. The soldiers even regained hope of holding out until reinforcements arrived, thanks to this extraordinary man. The men rushed at the monsters confronting them and hitting them with many swords or spears.
Nevertheless, the soldiers who had rushed into this new breach were all struck by gigantic lightning bolts. And all of them collapsed lifeless on the ground with burned skin.
"What happened!" (Élias)
The soldiers began to tremble, dropping their swords to the ground and giving up hope. A Lich with a torn black robe appeared on the battlefield. A new volley of arrows was about to fall on the monsters. But the Lich raised his hands to the sky and the arrows were all destroyed by lightnings. Before the lich turned in the direction from which the arrows had come.
On the wall, lightning bolts fell on all the archers who were all killed on the spot. In a fraction of a second it was all over, whereas until then he could have resisted until the arrival of reinforcements.

There were only 300 unfortunate soldiers left to face a veritable army of monsters. And with the arrival of a more than formidable opponent, the soldiers knew that they would now die here.
At that moment Élias turned to them and said a few words.
"Get out of here, I'll take care of the rest." (Élias)
"It's out of the question!" Shouted a soldier.
"That wasn't a request, that was an order!" (Elias)
"But sir...." (Soldier)
"Whether you're with me or without me, it won't make any difference. Except to waste your lives needlessly in a battle already lost. Besides, I will now unleash all my power to hold them back and you may inadvertently perish from my attacks. So it is best to leave to save your lives." (Élias)
Élias then addressed them a big and last smile, while the soldiers' faces became tense. They felt ashamed that they could not do anything and that they could not even follow their captain with honor in death.
The soldiers then lined up and did a military salute before all speaking at the same time:
"It has been an honor to be under you all these years sir!" (Soldiers)
"It was also an honor for me to fight alongside men who were willing to do anything to fulfill their duties." (Élias)
The soldiers then all ran in the opposite direction with the burden of shame and tears in their eyes. Some monsters immediately went after them but were immediately charred by flames.
"You shall not touch one of my men again!" (Élias)
A large flame has covered Élias' body.
Defensive Flame:
Flaming Boost:
Multiple waves of flames began to break over the monsters, even larger than the previous ones this time over 20 meters. Spears of flame shot out of the ground to impale and burn them from within. Even the most ferocious monsters faced with such a show of force would back off. As the waves continued to crash over them.
The Lich finally stepped forward while all the monsters retreated. From the body of the lich a black smoke spread on the ground. The corpses of the dead monsters and also the fallen soldiers stood up.
"Necromancy, you bastard!" (Elias)
The undead, having just come back to life, rushed towards Elias who burned them again. But they continued to advance despite the flames. "If that's the way it is, I'm going to burn you until there's nothing left of your bodies." (Élias)
The flames suddenly intensified and reduced them to a pile of ash. As the Lich rained lightning down on Élias. Who cashed in again and again, while fighting the undead monsters and the normal monsters. The spiders whose heads he cut off, the wolves he burned, the deformed monsters whose entrails he spread on the ground.
However, the battle dragged on to Elias' disadvantage. His stamina and strength were gradually leaving him. After several long and trying minutes of slicing and burning monsters. Élias was beginning to falter, his mana depleting as he fought a losing battle alone. The wounds inflicted by the monsters covering his body. While his beautiful armor was now going to pieces.
The flame that reduced the damage he was taking was slowly fading. Before an attack from the Lich finally pierced his body through and through. Black spikes had pierced him leaving gaping holes in his already bruised body. He finally fell to his knees, his sword the only thing keeping him from completely collapsing.
The monsters moved towards him to finish him off, but the Lich let out a scream and all the monsters froze. And finally backed off, leaving Élias alone. He raised his head with difficulty to look at the Lich in incomprehension.
"What are you waiting for to finish me off..." (Élias)
At these words, the Lich raised her hand as a fireball grew rapidly in it, until it became massive. A gigantic ball of molten fire now stood above the lich's head held by one of her hands.
"No don't do that... Don't do that!" Élias shouted with difficulty.
At that moment, Elias had clearly heard the sinister laughter of the Lich that chilled his blood. She threw the fireball towards the city without any remorse, while Elias looked on helplessly.
On impact a gigantic shock wave razed and burned the entire city. Those who were late or were helping to evacuate the city. Or whoever was in the city at the time was undoubtedly now dead. Élias then let out a cry of despair that the Lich seemed satisfied with.
Just as she thought she had broken him mentally, a gigantic flame burst out of Elias' body. He got up as best he could, brandishing his sword, his armor and his body bruised from all sides.
"Last flame!" (Élias)
Last flame:
Élias was preparing his final attack, the fire spreading for the one last time on the ground. Before gathering to form a gigantic wave of flame of more than 100 meters high.
"Mommy look!" Said the young girl in awe of the nighttime spectacle.
While even the crowd who was fleeing, admiring the gigantic wave in the distance, shining with a thousand lights. Élias with his arm in the air trembling and bloody held the wave ready to engulf everything.
"Goodbye my loves." (Élias)
Élias' arm was lowered and the gigantic wave began to break over the monsters.

Zombies
This is one of three stories that I am offering as a test run. If you like it, then I'll choose to continue working on it. I have a whole plot line ready to explore! What can I say, I'm a sucker for rebirth, regression, and transmigration stories. This one is a regression story. The main character get's yeeted back in the past, to where the end began. Read on tortured souls as I do my best to break the weak, and sooth those who don't have a soul to break. I spent some time trying to make a story that explores all the gritty situations a resident of the apocalypse would encounter. Unfortunately, I do struggle with pace. I get just as impatient as you when I can't get to the next bloody encounter. But I despise OP characters, and I really wanna stop and explore the fascinating death of civilization. I write this in hopes of making a main character who get's to be the bad-ass I can't be, without, you know, skipping the good stuff.
