《Shadow’s World》Meeting a grandmother

Alexander I lay in bed mad. These kids. Why, why people hate me? I gave these morons an easy schedule to follow. Instead, they mess around behind my back. Do they now I’m not stupid? I need not be in the room to know they are messing around. My god, even my team, has tried to get the better of me. I see them slacking every day. Why can’t anyone take me seriously? For a month after I beat the school into the ground. They listen to every word I said. Now, they can be careless. Do, I have to beat them again. But they are stronger now and I would need her help. Getting help from her would be impossible. She already hangs up her gloves. Also, she loves watching me struggle. I punch my bed a few times. UGH!!! Why is this so hard? I have put the fear of God into these people, but now it seems they forgot or don’t care. The stupid spider jumps on top of my head. Ugh, now even more trouble. Why can’t this stupid thing go away? I have enough trouble and him being here doesn’t help me. “Cheer up alexander. Being a leader is hard work. I tried to stay out of positions in which I have to lead, and I am a god to these people on the planet.” Anaisa says while tapping me on the head. I have to ignore this evil bug. There is nothing I can do to it and also it causes all of my troubles. I have to think of a way to get these people under control. The spider taps my head even harder. I have to ignore him. “Are you ignoring me?” I didn’t reply to his question. Yes, now he will leave me alone. This was the pattern he started to develop after the great splitting. I hear something. I feel tiny strings attach themselves to me. They lifted me high into the air and slam down into the ground. Ouch, it knocked out the wind of me. “Stop, I’m sorry. What do you want great Anaisa?” I look up at the stupid spider asking the question. It threw me back onto the bed. The spider crawls back onto my head and says, “Alexander, I’m being serious right now. Being a leader is hard, but you must become one. Do I have to remind you the world is at stake?” I take a deep breath. I need to get up. I stand up and get myself ready for the day. It doesn’t matter what the spider says or anyone else. I want to change the world and I have the power to change it. I need to keep going. Instead of going to the training yard, I head to the elder’s area. I was arrogant and now I need their help. I hate having to bow down to these guys but I have to do it. I arrive at the door and take a deep breath. I should turn back, but thinking about how everyone in the school isn’t keeping up with my training keeps my feet firmly on the ground. I look hard at the wooden door. The door catches on fire. Oops, hahah I put out the fire with water. Causing noise at the front door. Well, that might better than knocking. I heard movement inside. The door opens and an elder, I have never seen before walks out. She looks at me stun for a moment and gives me a lovely smile. “Hello, Alexander, what can I do for you today.” The elder gave off a warm feeling. She was just a little taller than me with white hair and wrinkly skin. “Hello elder, I am here to meet with either elder jessie or elder kyle.” The elder says, “You look so handsome I can gobble you right up. I wish you were my grandkids. They are good for nothings. Instead of calling me elder call me grandmama. That way I can pretend I have the greatest grandson in the world. Such a good child. Leading this school and helping them train. These children now of days don’t know how good they have it. Such a shame. Coming with me dear.” The elder turns around and starts walking into the building. Wow, I hope I never meet her again. This crazy old lady and her ramblings. Well, there was a good thing. The elders have been watching everyone. This can turn out easier than I hope. I follow the elder into the building. “I wish the students would visit us more often. Not all of us are old and grumpy. The elders that live her love kids and want to interact with the younger generation. We understand how it is being young and not wanting the adulting to hovering over you. But that doesn’t mean you children should ignore us. We want your company. Alexander be a good child and promise me, you would visit this place more often.” The old lady turns around and looks at me with pleading eyes. Well, there is no harm coming over more often and also I might gain viable information coming here. The only reason I don’t come here because I thought this place was off limits and that the elders hated us. That might be because Elder Jessie is such a big part of my life. I nod my head to the women. She screams and gives me a bear hug, picking me off of my feet. She was squeezing me so hard I lost my breath. Wait, I shouldn’t have done that. She might try to adopt me. I need to find out who her grandchildren are and force them to receive this punishment. Once she finishes her hug, I ask her in a childlike voice, “Grandmama do your grandkids go to this school I want to met them.” Oh man, the smile she gave off cause her to look 20 years old and radiant. She was so radiant that it was blinding me. “Yes, Alexander, you could be a great role model to those brats. They are both girls one named Maddie and the other Suki. They are both head cases and refuse to see their grandmamma. Here we are alexander and be a good boy and come and visited this place. She led me up to a door and left.

Cary Simms: The Fairy Mushroom Forest
From a young age, Cary Simms knew that she wasn't like the other boys her age. She didn't know why or how that was, but it seemed apparent to the bullies of her school. They would often call her names, chase after her after school, and beat her up when they could catch her. Her only protection, besides escape, was in the words of the Good Book. But that was before she stumbled into the supposedly haunted house at the end of her street. When a mysterious ring and a drawing on the back wall of the post office opened up a whole new world for her, things quickly went from weird to scary. At a new school, in a new world, surrounded by people who had access to magic, all Cary could think of was how to escape the witches that had her trapped there. It was only having her best friend by her side that gave her any comfort at all. ***This is my first attempt at a middle grade book, and would appreciate feedback. Please note, this is a second draft, and might not represent the final product.***
