Chapter Eight - What if I win? part 3
The students in the room felt stricken by Lucky's words as well, as chatter quieted down, and everyone wore pondering expressions. Margot Frenzy couldn't stop staring at Lucky as he spoke, her gaze hot enough to fry an egg.
"There are no Lucid Mountain ranges or Cannibal Jungles, what bullshit are you spewing?" snapped Scarlet Mercury. She had heard of the Valley of Queens in the legends, but the other places were utterly unfamiliar to her. Where would this child have heard of these things? "I was born and raised as a cherished noble daughter of Nibiru City, what time did I have to visit such desolate areas?"
"Well, if you've never been, how can you be so sure of what exists beyond Avaria?" asked Lucky nonchalantly.
"This..." Scarlet Mercury was temporarily stumped. These words... secretly made a little sense to her. She didn't know at all what was outside of Disaster County other than forests and mountains. But how could a worthless commoner like Kasino be more traveled than a magus such as herself? Was there more to this kid then meets the eye?
"Right, right, how can she be so sure, right?" a few girls of the class giggled along. None of them liked Scarlet Mercury because she was beautiful and extremely arrogant about it. For that reason, Lucky was becoming increasingly manly in their eyes. They had never met a student willing to challenge one of the instructors in such a way!
Chatter resumed in the classroom, and the students all tried to figure out where those places Lucky had mentioned were located. It was just that they had never heard of such locations. The gorgeous and slender Aubrey wore a perplexed look as she pondered. Her light brown skin seemed soft and supple as she sat two desks over from where Lucky currently stood, looking at him with some no longer concealed interest in her eyes.
Was this the so-called 'trash' her friends would tell her to ignore? He certainly never seemed like trash to her, especially not now! Now others were finally starting to see it as well. Aubrey had always thought that Lucky seemed cultured and well-traveled. Now she watched him be even more so. Was it because he took a year abroad? Where did he go? What did he experience? Aubrey really wanted to know these things.
Lucky recognized this girl as the daughter of the previous Mayor, Alfred Graham. She was a little beauty with pearly white teeth and soft and edible looking cherry lips. Like a beautiful flower that had just entered bloom, she had a calm and still aura with a temperament that matched imperial princesses. Many males in the school worshipped this girl as one of the three top angels of Thoth Academy, also known as the divine trinity.

Kenneth Royale, who initially sat next to Aubrey, wore an ugly face with furrowed brows. To his dismay, this Lucky kid was rather brave and eloquent. Not only that, Kenneth had just realized that Lucky Riot was almost as tall and handsome as himself. Once Kenneth saw the way that even the quiet Aubrey took a curious glance, he knew it was time to get serious about wooing Margot.
Kenneth felt a crisis in his heart while looking at the back of this man. He had become obscenely more outstanding, as compared to the smaller and weaker Kasino Riot from before. So much so, that Kenneth no longer knew how to act towards him. Was he really just some trash? Trash wouldn't be so confident and eloquent!
The teacher Scarlet Mercury raised her hand, but the discussions didn't cease at all. Scarlet was livid when she saw this. She had somehow lost all of her authoritative momenta and no longer had the heart of the crowd! She scoffed at Lucky in displeasure, as this was all his fault. This student was such a bad apple, "You speak of random locations as if you have visited them yourself. What proof can you offer that my words are false and your own are true? A mere semester abroad? Laughable."
Whether consciously or unconsciously, every head in the room swung from Teacher Mercury back to Lucky. Meanwhile, Lucky Riot approached the device before the teacher's platform once more. Once in front of it, he said blandly, "I disdain to prove myself to you. Now, tell me about this so-called assessment."
"You rude little… hmph. I disdain to reward your misconduct. Go ahead and test it out on your own then," Scarlet Mercury's face was flushed with anger, but she quickly regained her composure. Without knowing how to defend yourself in this device, death was a real possibility. This brat was toast, now.
"This is an Original Pressure Chamber. The formation inside uses origin stones to create a vortex of origin forces that press down onto the warrior's body. Ultimately resulting in the tempering the flesh to the next level. My dad has one of these in his third office," Margot's sweet voice traveled into Lucky's ear at this time, her words alleviating the remnant worries that he had. He turned back and revealed a bright and handsome smile directed at Maggie, who was instantly sent into a daze along with the other girls in the glass.
Merely, when the others followed his gaze and saw the angel looking back into his eyes, they sighed with emotion and envy.
"Do you know the longest anyone has ever stayed inside?" asked Lucky Riot. Maggie, however, shook her head. For some reason, Lucky felt someone had stayed in for 217 minutes and that this person was related to Maggie. Yet, how did he know this if he never heard of an original pressure chamber before today? He didn't dare to believe in this feeling.

"Stop delaying! Every student here will take this assessment today, and many of them will put your time to shame. Stop wasting our time!" berated Scarlet Mercury. However, she thought for a moment before glancing at Margot as well, "That is if you even manage to escape fate. The longest recorded time actually belongs to your grandfather, lass. Renzo Frenzy, at the sixth level of the Hardbody Realm, sat in the original pressure chamber for three hours straight! Do you see now, boy? The difference between the two of you? It is not fated."
"Fate?" Lucky Riot was rather tired of hearing the teacher use this word. However, it was the same word that the Lucky of the future, the man called Shreya Endless, frequently used while he addressed himself. Lucky's brow arched as he made a suggestion, "How about we bet on destiny, then? I will break that record right now."
Pfft.
Nearly the entire class exploded in laughter. What Lucky had just said was utterly ridiculous to them. They would never take it as anything other than a shameless boast and joke.
"A… bet? That you can break the legendary record that's been in place for over 300 years? And the stakes are… Like what? What could you have that I want?" chided Scarlet Mercury with an evil smirk on her pretty face. The statement 'over three hundred years' made Lucky panic for a moment, but he didn't reveal this on his face at all. Just how damn old were Maggie's folks?
Lucky pulled out a star pendant from under his clothes. Inside of it was a crystal that was oval-shaped like an egg and blacker than obsidian. There were strange runic markings on it, and it seemed to release a slight scarlet-golden glow. Lucky had always worn this pendant for as long as he could remember. The oval stone was something he always had, while the pendant and chain came later.
In his heart, it was a gift from his mother, and he hated it when anyone went near the stone. It instinctively made him want to attack them. However, in reality, he wasn't even sure where he got it from. One morning he woke up and it was next to him. As for the star pendant, he once had a dream that a man gave it to him late at night.
Now, Lucky wondered if that was a dream after all. Perhaps this was also from his father?
Scarlet Mercury's eyes lit up when she saw the star pendant. 'What is that? Its glow is more unique than mystic stage equipment. Whatever it is, it must be a supreme and absolute treasure!' Scarlet couldn't understand the marks on it at all, but she felt slight trepidation just from looking at it too long. Even the crystal inside seemed enigmatic and extraordinary.
This was no ordinary treasure. How had this boy concealed it up until now? Was it able to even conceal itself? Could it be a Spirit Stage treasure?
Its aura was unique, and Scarlet thought that this boy must have picked it up on his travels. Maybe, it was the reason he advanced so quickly. Scarlet's eyes flashed with a greedy light, "Haha, okay, fine, let's bet brat! Since you want to gift me a treasure, I will bet. Remember what I said prior, boy, you will get nowhere by trying to woo me. We're in two different worlds. Begin!"
"Wait. We know what you will get if I lose, but what if I win?" asked Lucky Riot. Many students in the class laughed. A sinister smirk to appear on Scarlet Mercury's face.
"Haha… okay, what do you want if you win?" asked Scarlet Mercury mockingly.
At that moment, Lucky's blood started to boil as he officially lost his temper, "When I win, you'll be my servant maid every afternoon 1:00 PM until Midnight for six months. You will obey my every command and tend to my every… need."
Silence.
Utter silence.
And then a single pair of clapping hands originating from the back of the classroom. Who else would this be, but Maggie?
Many students sat in shock with their mouths hanging open. Lucky had dared to speak to the ferocious teacher in that way? Not merely a maid, but a servant-maid? Couldn't he do as he pleased with her if she agreed to be his servant-maid? This was basically a slave contract!
Scarlet Mercury's face first turned purple, green, then crimson, before returning to normal. "I'll take your damn bet, you perverted little punk. However, if you lose, not only do you lose your treasure… I'll take your dog life with it!"
"Then allow me to promise that after I win, I'll use my body to rescue you from your husband at that time," Lucky Riot left behind only these words as he entered the original pressure chamber and sat in meditation.
"He clearly wants me to kill this bitch…" Margot Frenzy frowned and thought to herself.
Hearing Lucky's promise, Scarlet Mercury was fully enraged and activated the core part of the formation with the formation disc in her hand. She didn't hesitate and maxed out all of the settings. She did it naturally in one swift movement as if it was what she was supposed to do. This could cause even a ninth level Hard Body Stage warrior to experience qi deviation.
"Let's see you escape from this, little punk," snarled Scarlet Mercury.
