Chapter Ten - Thoth Advanced Academy part 1
Thoth Academy Main Square, a couple of hours later…
The original pressure chamber opened and out walked a pair of creamy milk chocolatey legs. This young lady's clothes were slightly damp from her perspiration, sticking to her slender frame and showing off her cleavage a little. She moved her thin frame to the edge of the platform, gazing imperiously at the massive sea of students beneath. She gave off a slight heroic air, and she was doing her best to do so.
For some reason, she wanted that boy Kasino, who had entered his assessment chamber before her, to notice her magnificence. She had actually never paid this much attention to males before and didn't quite understand her own actions. About a year ago, before Kasino suddenly went abroad, he had just started catching her eye. She would even think about his scent randomly during his absence. This truly baffled her. Upon seeing so many people, Aubrey's pretty eyes fluttered, and her thoughts were interrupted. She was inwardly astounded.
Had she broken a record?
Why were there so many people?
In fact, how were there so many people?
"Aubrey Graham, three hours and fifteen minutes! Full marks pass, Advanced Academy, Magi class!" announced Magus Fair-Weather loudly, with pride in her eyes and an endearing smile on her face. She had known this little girl since she was just a wee thing. To think this little girl would destroy Renzo Frenzy's record as well! What exactly was going on this year? Nonetheless, Magus Fair-Weather took great pleasure in seeing such outstanding results. If not for the little freak they had just discovered, Aubrey would likely be the brightest star of the academy thus far with such a record.
"Way to go, Ms. Graham!"
"Young miss, you did incredibly, you broke Renzo Frenzy's record!"
"Good job, Aubrey!"
"I love you, Aubrey! Marry this young master, and I swear I'll treasure you for life!"
Aubrey let out a slight scream as tears welled in her eyes, and she collapsed to her knees. Waves of applause and praise erupted from the majority of the crowd below, and many people were amazed. However, many others barely reacted. Nonetheless, she had passed. She had indeed done it!

Advanced Magi class!
Now, who could stop her father from ascending to be the next patriarch of the family? This was the first step to overshadowing that whole mayor debacle. Once she achieved Gold Rank 1-Star Magus, she would be able to lift her family up on her own. Her little sister and soon-to-be-born baby brother would be raised in a secure household. She had helped to earn this with her personal accomplishments! Her potential would place her entire family in a better position!
Yet and still, something seemed amiss to her…
There was a massive crowd, and they were now outside the classroom. People chatted all over the square, and there hadn't been too many people that applauded Aubrey. When making a comparison to the number of people in attendance, she was sure they didn't mind her. So why were these people here precisely? Also, why had Magus Fair-Weather announced her result? When Aubrey's eyes landed on Scarlet Mercury, she had a start.
Scarlet was sitting pathetically, with a listless expression, mumbling to herself incoherently. Aubrey seemed to understand something and subconsciously glanced behind herself. Still sitting in the middle of the original pressure chamber, was a very handsome young man. His face was more angular than previously, and he was seemingly releasing white mist from his upper body, which was now fully exposed. A body lined with well-cut muscles that made Aubrey a little excited. This young man was evidently none other than Kasino Riot!
"He's… still not done…?..!"

Six hours later…
"Is this really the kid class 457 called a waste all these years? What idiots."
"There's no way this kid could be called a waste! If he's a waste, then what are we?"
"Where's Buzz? Didn't Buzz and Lucky have major beef a couple of years ago? You think Lucky wants to get even?"
"It's possible."
"Maybe, yeah?"
"Poor Buzz, he's toast after this."
"Yeah, poor Buzz."
"What the hell, guys, I'm right here! This kid really was a waste, the whole class knew it!"
"Buzz is right! Last year before he went abroad, he wasn't even at the third level yet!"
"WHAT?!"
"No way, dude, how could that even be real?"
...
The youths all around discussed the current events with significant enthusiasm. Some were supporting Lucky, while others were cursing him and claiming that he had employed some sinister means. Many even accused him of joining a gang like Silver Mercury! A few said he was in Silver Mercury itself!

After all, today's Lucky was just way too different from the youth in their memories.
Lucky Riot's actions could only be considered excessively reckless. How could it be useful to draw so much attention to oneself? His original intention was to get close to or somehow surpass Renzo Frenzy's record.
Because Lucky thought this would be unbearably difficult, he just put his full concentration into his task, sparing no attention to time or his surroundings. He was at school anyway, this batty teacher wasn't wild enough to move against him again. The truth, however, was that in spite of his teacher intentionally trying to harm him, he had already been inside for ten plus hours!
Breaking the record?
He had slaughtered the record mercilessly!
Comparable to Renzo Frenzy?
Kasino Shreya Riot was simply incomparable to anyone else at all!
At least these were the thoughts of the various spectators. This incident had blown up to epic proportions! Even the middle school and elementary school students were desperately trying to get close enough to observe. After the six-hour mark, Magus Fair-weather moved the platform in the class with a relocation array. In the platform's original place now sat a green tomato.
Whereas the platform was now in the central square of Thoth High School.
Actually, the original pressure chamber should have already run out of the energy required to function. The Vice-Principal and school treasurer herself had arrived to replenish the power source for the array formation, the Origin Ether, a potent liquid that was full of pure origin force. Soon after her arrival, the remaining Vice-Principal and grand elder of the disciplinary hall arrived as well.
Now, nearly the entire school was camped out in the vicinity, all awaiting the results of this assessment. The only one missing was the Honored Guru herself! Unfortunately, Lucky simply had not realized any of this.
At this moment, the original pressure chamber next to Lucky opened once more and out walked another pair of nearly flawless legs, but these legs were so light brown that they almost looked like a pinkish gold. This girl's calves and thighs were thick, showing that she was an athlete. Her waist seemed impossibly thin by comparison, and even her chest had swelled in size compared to the past. Her round bubble butt was perfectly seated on her back, causing many of the men around to drool.
This young woman was indeed a beauty, and every young man down below the platform stood in a daze. A few of the male teachers looked away from the child uncomfortably. She was lovely, even more so than before, even more so than some of their wives. The effect she gave the crowd was at least 2.5 times more intense than their reaction to Aubrey, much to Aubrey's displeasure. Aubrey wasn't a petty individual, but she still didn't like this feeling. What girl didn't want to be the most eye-catching? There were looks of worship in the eyes of these youths as they stared at the stage. That was pure worship!
Even many of the teachers had joined the crowds of students at this point, pretending to moderate. In truth were baffled into amazement, and needed a better view. Why were the new fourth-year students so monstrous this term?
"Reporting to the Grand Magus; the advanced classes will be receiving 15% more students this term." As the crowd below slowly worked up an uproar, standing on a riser behind the platform and surrounded by what seemed to be all the Magi of the Academy, was a tall and muscular man with bronze skin. His face was fierce, and he stood straight like a sword. The man then slightly bowed toward an old man with a white beard who was far shorter than himself.
The muscular man wore a crimson and black light-armor of high quality and was even holding a helmet at his side, letting his long black hair hang low over his shoulders. The female teachers all had heated gazes when their eyes stopped on this man, including Magus Fair-Weather, who stood half a step behind him with another woman. She thought that this man looked like a tyrant warrior, born to kill. There was even a slight killing intent leaking from him.
This was the dean of Thoth High School, Magus Fierce Storm!

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

How long will he survive in a xianxia world by relying only on his dao of meta? Oh? Does that plot feel predictable? Fine!
