《World of Enosi | Discontinued! Do not read if you hate discontinued novels!》10. Status screen

I heard Dain mutter something about me, I couldn't think of what he was saying. Maybe he was evaluating me or something. I wonder how this 6 months of training is going to go.
"Ryan... This must be a trap, something weird is going on here."
"I know Arci, but we cant live in this world without any knowledge... We need to learn about this world, its common sense, laws, nations, history... Then we can live comfortably. Its just 6 months anyways."
"Haaaa... You are right master... Just be on guard against him, he does not look like your average teen."
"Yup. I know Arci."
(Arci worries about me every time... But we need to learn the knowledge here, and whatever this magic is.)
After I thought that, I saw Dain approaching me.
"Alright then! So am I correct in assuming you do not know how to show your status screen?"
"Yep, i don't know."
"Mhm! Okay, just think about 'status open' in your mind. The system will then show your status screen."
System? Whats the system? Okay, whatever... Lets do what he says.
(Status open)
(Confirmed... New User detected. Quantifying...)
I heard a robotic female voice in my head. As I was confused as to where it came from, suddenly a blue screen appeared to me, hovering in midair.

A blue screen suddenly appeared, hovering in front of me. I jolted a bit, Arci saw me and confusedly asked-

"Is something wrong, Ryan?"
"Can you not see the blue screen that's hovering in front of me?"
"My apologies master, i can not see anything that's in front of you."
"Suprised? Thats the 'status screen' a blessing from the system, but some crazy fanatics believe that it was given to the mortals by the Goddess."
"...?"
"You don't know what I'm talking about? Sheesh, those fanatics i talked about are called the Union Faith,
their religion centers on the Goddess, The Angels, and The System. If you see one of their priests, run.
Those old fogeys can lecture you about the Holy Trinity for 3 days straight with frenzied eyes. Sadly,
that crazy religion is the main religion of the Unosi continent."
"Dain... Va stres ka Unosi ta ma!"
"Its okay Jano! None of those crazy priests are here today anyways... Right?"
"Kava... Dain, ste ra de voin Heole'dam, sa?"
"Oh my! Today's Golden Harvest? mmmhh... Lets hope none of the other knights or priests heard that."
"Haaaaa... Dain..."
It seems like the adult in armor was wearing a tired expression, its as if he was tired of Dain.
I took a look at the 'status screen' before me... It seems like i was referred as 'really weak' by Dain.
Hmm... Whats this, Starlight Affinity? Spatial Affinity? Whats that about? Something that has to do
with the 'magic' Dain referred to?
"Alright then, you can see your statistics right? Good. But sorry to say, you are very weak... Very.
I think some children can even beat you one on one, and you will also lose in strength to a plain goblin."
Seems like i was really weak. I could lose to children? That really hurts my pride? And what is this plain
goblin? An animal that lives on plains?
"But lets move out of here shall we? It seems like gazes are pouring onto us already."

When i heard what he said, i looked around me... It seems like the knights passing by and the ones on towers were looking at me and Arci with curious gazes. Are they wondering why their Vice-Commander is
talking to a random stranger?
"Alright... Hmm, Jano, could you tell Tere over there to go tell the Commander that i just knighted this man without him going through the Exam? Oh and also, please tell me his reactions."
"... Fan... Karska, teme ta ri dei..."
"Aaah, he'll be fine! Dont worry."
The burly adult went over to an entrance of a building, where i saw him talking to the female knight i saw earlier... So she was watching as well?
"Alright! The fact that you didn't notice the gazes proves that you have super low senses. Also how sharp your senses are and how long it's range is not quantified by the system. It's one of the things that you have to hone and train without being able to see the numbers in your status."
(I see, so there are some things that cannot be shown by the system.)
"Alright then, that's enough for the time being... Let's take a carriage to town shall we?"
"Where are we going?"
"We are going to go through the Katerea Low Hills, and go to the nearest town 40 kilometers northeast, Temere'dan!"
Seems like I'm going to go on a journey.
*bang*
The sound of a desk being hit by a fist resounded throughout the room.
"He did what?!?! Please tell me what you said was a joke! Please!"
"My apologies, Commander... Its true, he knighted the man without him passing the Exams."
"Noooo!!! Dain you idiot!!! Why do you have to do this to me!??!?!?! Do you not know the trouble this is
going to bring if the Union Faith hears this??? Not only pardoning a Sacred Area Violator, but knighting
him!??!?! Aaaaah! This is it! My days of Commander are over once the royal court and the Union Faith
hears of this!"
"Well, Dain has been like that from the start right? He's a smart adult."
"You are also part of the problem! Why are you so in love with that annoying squeak! At least tell him
the consequences of his actions!!!"
"A man should be given the right act freely, yes?"
"Yes, but actions have consequences! Im on my last red star with the Internal Affairs! Once they hear of this
Im going to get kicked out of this chair! I don't want to be poor! I don't want to be like those poor people! How else am i going to fund my research projects??!?!?"
A man with glasses, and a young girl was inside the room. If someone was told that this was how the
command of the Third Knight Corps acted in private, they wouldn't believe a single word of it.
The man's name was Tetra von Stolekeir, he was not a noble but he still had a last name. His occupation
was a... Mage. Yes, you heard it, a mage. But this man was not a simple mage, he had the unique skills of forming magic on his body, thus earning him the nickname of 'The Physical Mage'. His expertise in magic was so weird, that his fellow mages labeled him as an 'outcast'.
The young girl's name was Terena de Ratia, a swordsman. Or specifically, a magic swordsman. Her rank in the knights was Knight Lieutenant. She was known as the 'Purple Thunder' due to her hair colour and proficiency in lightning magic. However, she was terribly in love with Dain. And she was also the second daughter of the Ratia Margrave. Yes, this girl's family had the noble rank of Margrave.
All of the people in the Third Knight Corps Command were either weird, outcasts, strange, or psychopathic, but all of them were geniuses in their fields.

Tower of Somnus
When humanity first encountered alien life, we were judged and found wanting. The Galactic Consensus interviewed our leaders and subjected us to a battery of psychological tests to determine our progress as a society. They found us to be selfish, wasteful, impulsive, and boorish neighbors. Earth was blockaded and our collective encounter with our extrasolar neighbors rapidly faded from memory. All they left behind was a hypercomm relay and a handful of subscriptions to a massively multiplayer game that participants played in their sleep. The Consensus said that it would let us interact with our neighbors in a controlled setting. That it would teach us to be better members of the galactic community. The megacorporations that controlled Earth ignored the game until they learned that the powers earned from clearing dungeons were just as real when day broke. Magic, supernatural abilities and rumors exploded from nothing and a subscription to The Tower of Somnus became a status symbol. Katherine ‘Kat’ Debs doesn’t have much, but it could be worse. Born in an arcology, she was assigned a job in the megacorporation that raised her almost as soon as she could work. Despite the stability of her corporate life, she wanted something more. Urban Divinity
He slowly backs up until his back is against the wall like my own, "You're..my neighbor?" He points to my door and I nod my head quickly. He hums softly, "You been here a while?" He asks and I nod my head once again. He chuckles, "Ya head hurt?" I nod again but stop as he laughs softly, "I-I mean.. no.. it doesn't." My cheeks burn red as I look at my shoes, "I-It doesn't hurt.." I repeat like a dummy and listen to him clear his throat, "So do you actually live there or was it bull?" He nods to my door and I play with my fingers, "Yeah.. I do.." I feel his eyes watch me and I quickly stop. "You live with your boyfriend or do you like sweatshirts that reach your knees?" He teased, making a giggle slip past my lips. I look away to the floor again, "I-I like big shirts... a lot." I mumble softly and he nods his head, "Hol' up." He puts his box down before walking over to one of the grey bins. I nosily watch as he pulls out a big grey sweatshirt, "Here." He holds it out for me to take and I stare at him with wide eyes, "F-For me?" I hesitantly grab the soft fabric as he chuckles, "Nah for ya mom." I puff my cheeks a little and give him a small glare, "Hush." He leans back against the wall and shakes his head, "It's cold out. You should put it on." ____________________________She was a shy girl from the city with no spine and a list of problems so long that it could touch the floor and roll off her shoes.
