[Small Village In The West Empire]

At night as everyone went into their rooms, all of them remembered Kaido's story and lamented about it for a while

For them it felt like the story actually happened in real life but they have no proof of it only the person himself who told the story is the one who knows whether the story told was real or not

As Lily was thinking about it while fixing her appearance, Hibiki on the other half was gazing at his sword and seems to remember his past because of the story

While Jack himself seemed to notice the current atmosphere of the company so he just gave a sigh to it as he drinks a bottle of wine under the moonlight

"Looks like youngster nowadays have gone through a lot" he commented as he pours another drink in his cup and chugs it in one gulp

As for Kaido himself he seems to be in distraught as the reanimation of the cursed sword appears again

"They ask a lot for a mortal aren't they?" Asks the pale white person

At that Kaido gave it a sidelong glance before turning his gaze away

"Tell me... If you don't want me to mess with you then why did you bring me?" Asks the pale white person

With that question Kaido looked at the cloth covered cursed sword before answering

"I thought that perhaps if I could find someone on this journey that has a way to shut you up and get rid of the curse.... I have no need for a cursed power! I only need your sturdy sword after all a silent sword is a good sword" replied Kaido

Hearing that the pale white person was shocked for a moment before laughing

"Hahaha! You want to get rid of the curse? What bullshit!!! You should know that the hero near you has the same amount of hatred in his heart like you.... Meaning if I will so then I can easily lure him to use me.... I don't even need you" threatened the pale white person

"Is that so?... Then maybe it's better if I break you now than wait for you to make some trouble...." Threatened back Kaido

At that threat the reanimation of the cursed sword went silent and said

"Whatever... I don't care anymore.... But if you let your guard down even for a little I can use it to at least take over you hehehehe" claimed the pale white person before disappearing

At that claim Kaido once again glanced at the cloth covered cursed sword as he muttered

"By that time.... I hope someone can stop me"

After that he returned his gaze at the moon as he leaned on the wall under the moonlight

[West Of The Empire's Main road]

~Next day~

As they walked alongside the road and after lamenting about the story Hibiki tried to talk to Kaido who is just lying down on top of the carriage rooftop

"Hey! Can we talk?"

Because of his question it caught the interest of the other people causing their attention to shift to them

"No" rejected Kaido flatly

At that Hibiki was stunned for a moment but he continued otherwise

"If you somehow experienced being in danger of the past... Won't you try to make things right in the present and make sure to eliminate the creatures that threatened you in the past?"

With his question all of the Hero's party immediately knew that he was pointing out his past experience of losing his loved ones once

"If I could I would... But it would be pointless" replied Kaido

His sudden reply surprised the others as they didn't expect him to answer at all but because of it Hibiki became confused why Kaido said that it was pointless

"Why? Wouldn't it be right to get rid of the root of the problem before it makes any problem at all?" Asks Hibiki frantically

At that question Kaido replied

"How can you be sure that the people who harmed you in the past are the same as the people who you met in the present?" Asks back Kaido

"Not everyone is like that... But I admit that there are still some people who are sick to the bone as they toyed people's life... And that what's makes me sick like I just want them to get destroyed" said Kaido

Hearing that Hibiki seemed to thought of something as he said

"Then...."

But before he could speak Kaido interrupted him

"But in my travel throughout this land... I can say that not all people are like that but there is still some who experienced what I experienced in the past... I full well know just how much they suffered... So in order to avenge them I have to get rid of the people who makes them suffer for their sake and for the others even if.... I have to dirty my hands in doing so"

At his words Hibiki became confused a little but when he was about to ask Kaido continued his words

"For now... After all this.... I plan to return back to my home town and save all those people that are just like me even if I have to turn the whole world into my enemy... Only the can I die peacefully"

As he finished talking everyone became silent and for some reason Hibiki noticed the compassionate gaze of Lily to Kaido that he felt a little bit aching in his chest

"Am I jealous?" Thought Hibiki Everytime he saw Lily being compassionate to Kaido

As he kept silent he soon noticed that Lily was more and more proactive in talking to Kaido which makes him a bit infuriated by the situation so he decided to butt in but when he was about to intercede Kaido made them all silent for a moment before saying

"It reeks of blood"

After hearing that all of them became alerted of their surroundings

Later on Hibiki asks Mia

"Mia! What's up ahead of us?" Asks Hibiki

At that Mia answered

"Ahead of us Is a town" she replied

After that Melfina noticed a boy by the riverbank so he alerted Kaido

"Kaido-sama!"

Hearing that the other people noticed the boy and approached it

As they got near Kaido deducted the boy's current status

"He's dead" he announced

Hearing that Hibiki denied his claim as he said

"That can't be.... We're here! How can he die?... Maybe with a healing then...."

As Hibiki said that Kaido retorted what he said

"It's too late...the boy died during the night because of the cold climate of winter... During winter night everything seemed to be so cold that it can kill a person meaning this child didn't survive the night after being soaked in water" he explained

"No way" reacted Lily

As for Hibiki he took a step back before lumping on the ground

"Just what happened?" Asks Hibiki

After some thought Kaido deducted what just might happened

"I deduct that the town ahead of us got attacked and this boy due to panic and the will to survive... escaped by jumping off the riverbank.... He did escape the attackers but he was unfortunate as he was killed by nature itself.... Either way he would've have died if he didn't jump"

As he said that the company begun to feel pressure as they gaze at the town ahead of them and imagined it's tragic fate

"Oh God!.... I hope they're fine" commented Mia

At that all of them started to become more vigilant as they got closer to the Town
