[Decimated Town]

By the the night falls the company managed to bury all of the dead right outside the town's vicinity

After that they took refuge at one of the abandoned inn and stayed there for the night

As everyone contemplated to the events that they've seen today, they all have one common thing in mind and that is to avenge the dead by hunting down those army of bandits for them

As everyone was inside they're rooms, Jack sneaked out to locate the whereabouts of the bandits in accordance to Kaido's orders

As for Kaido he took Melfina and Anna and led them to the square to look for clues regarding the whereabouts of the bandits and they're strengths and numbers

As they leaved the inn, Lily who was sitting by the window and contemplating about the events that happened saw the trio walking out of the inn and heading to the square. Thus she subsequently tilted her head to the side as she peak at what they're trying to do

When the Kaido, Melfina, and Anna arrived at the town's square, Kaido first circled the square as he looks around the vicinity before turning to Anna and requesting for her to cast the past Projection spell again just like what she did in the morning

"Can you cast the spell?" Asks Kaido

"Are you sure?... For what purpose are you trying to reach by doing this?"

With Anna's question it outs Kaido into a deep thought for a moment before replying

"Maybe... It's for my own curiosity... Or I couldn't just leave this matter aside" he replied calmly

Truth be told Kaido was feeling a little bit tired by all of this, not only was he being pestered by the cursed sword whenever he lets his guard down but he is also being pestered by the thought of such horrible events and this is included

He just couldn't help himself but to feel angry and ripped the opposition apart whenever he witnesses something like this, even in his previous world such things was also happening the same way

"No matter which world everything is the same" he muttered silently

As Anna casted the spell this immediately caught the attention of the people who are sensitive to Mana especially the hero who was startled awoken from his sleep because of the sudden Mana surge

As time passed by and Kaido watched the scene again for the second time, he couldn't help but felt bitter by the events especially the scarred bandit which face was deeply engraved in his mind and this particular bandit was the one who ravaged the mother of the boy who was killed in front of him

No matter what! That guy's was his to kill... That is what he thought whenever he saw the man's face

As he observed the projection he suddenly notice something amiss and his sudden change in atmosphere was quickly picked up by both Melfina and Anna causing them to be on high alert

As the projection plays out Kaido saw a hood d shadow from the opposite side of the square quietly staring at him

At first he thought this was a projection but soon he noticed that it wasn't when he realized that it was looking at him and following his movement with it's gaze

Following Kaido's gaze both Melfina and Anna quickly saw the shadow and by just staring at it gave both of them the goosebumps they have never felt before

Because of that Anna quickly cuts off her spell but the moment she cuts off her spell the shadow smiled at Kaido before launching itself at him

This action surprised Kaido for he didn't expect the shadow to attack him

As the shadow attacked Kaido it grabbed him and slammed him with it through different structures causing some to be destroyed and fall down

This commotion quickly arose the Hero's party putting them on edge as they realized someone dares to attack them

As the shadow continued to slam Kaido to different houses the latter quickly clenched his fist and punched the shadow away causing them to fall to two different places at the same time

When Kaido took a closer look at his attacker he noticed that his attacker was more like a shade for it floats, doesn't have a feet at all and a grim looking creature that represents death

This appearance confused Kaido so much that he paused for a moment and this pause gave the shade a chance to brandish it's claws and attacked Kaido again

This time Melfina intercepted inn and countered the shades claws causing it to back away followed by a huge ice wall appearing between them and series of magical attacks coming from Anna

"This guy dares to attack Kaido-sama! Unforgivable!!!" Grumbled Melfina as she readies for her next attack

"A lowly shade dares to make a move? What a joke" taunted Anna as she casted a triple spell magic simultaneously

This feet from Anna caught both the hero Hibiki and Lily so much that they halted from their tracks when they saw multiple magic circle was casted by one person at the same time

"Just how strong is she?" Exclaimed Hibiki

Because of the sudden surge of Mana it made Luke, Alda and Melfina to back away as the shockwaves from the magic circle grew intensifies

With the usage of different elemental magic circle Anna rainedown all of it at the shade

"Ice particles!!!"

"Flame blast!!!"

"Rock slam!!!"

"Nature assault!!!"

"Luminaries bind!!!"

"Dark ball!!!"

Upon seeing this the shade quickly maneuvered itself as it dodges all of its attack and concentrated it's attention at Kaido

As it continuous to dodge Anna's attacks it's quickly brandished it's claws as it made its way to Kaido only to be blocked again by Melfina

After being blocked twice the shade move gracefully around Melfina as it throws her Anna causing the latter to cancel the spell she is currently casting

After that the shade made its way to Kaido and attacked him

Of course Kaido couldn't just stand idly so he quickly dodge it's first attack before retaliating by making the ground Pierce the shade

But as the ground spikes pass through the shade like a ghost it made Kaido astonished for a bit before making the latter dodge it's next attack

Upon noticing that his attack was useless against this type of creature, Kaido has no choice but to apply a hit and run tactic against such opponent

As the shade swipes it's claw Kaido quickly puts up a psychic barrier around himself only to be easily broken be the shade causing him to crash unto the ground

As Kaido stumbles he immediately jumped back as he restricted the shades movement but psychic energy and slammed it against the alleyways and the houses

But as this goes on the shade easily breaks it's binding and dashed forward to Kaido at an incredible speed

In a moments time the shade made its way to Kaido's inner defenses and injured him by slashing behind his back causing the latter to ache in pain as blood flows out from his back

Because the barrier was easily destroyed the shades attack successfully inflicted range upon Kaido's body

At that the shade immediately bring it's face near Kaido in intend to rip the latter's face off

As Kaido tried to push the shade away he notices that the shade was trying to suck his life force out of him causing the latter to panic a lot

"Damn it!!!!"

Hearing this Melfina and Anna quickly made their way to Kaido

But as both the shade and Kaido was struggling the Hero's party arrived at the scene causing the shade to turn involuntarily and fled away for the number of people increases making his existence be put in jeopardy if he is found

In Order for it to stay safe the shade has no choice to run away when the witnesses grows in number, this is the reason why shades often attacks people who are mostly alone or few in numbers

When the shade run off sweats drops down Kaido's forehead as he breaths haggardly because of the sudden attack

"What the heck was that?" Asks Alda as he was surprised by the shades appearance

"I... I don't know" said Kaido as he pants heavily
