《Forged From Flesh》Chapter 30: Killing the Queen

Arthur had been hunting for two hours when he finally reached level 7. To get from level 6 to level 7, he needed 30000 exp, which meant he had to kill 300 iron ranked beasts.
As soon as he finished leveling up, a new target appeared in front of him: 50,000 Exp to reach level 8. Arthur felt his head spinning because it had already taken him more than two hours to kill 300 monsters, and he began to feel a little tired. Arthur proceeded to check the skills to see if he could get anything useful; he looked at the system skill tab and discovered that there was nothing that could be useful for him in the current situation.
He then went to other tabs until he discovered the tab-Weapon mastery.
Images of various weapons were displayed in it, and Arthur quickly scanned through them, looking for anything useful. Soon, he found the Bow tab and quickly clicked on it, and there were skills such as rapid-fire, trey, and such, while also Level one mentioned next to it.
Arthur went on to purchase Trey, believing that it would be more beneficial to him in his current situation than the rapid-fire. The skill cost thirty Beast cores, so Arthur clicked on it and bought it; as soon as he did. New information and knowledge began to appear in his mind, and he was drawn into a strange place as he saw himself standing in the dark and continuing to pull back the string, beginning with one arrow, then two arrows, and finally three arrows.
The practice session continued, and Arthur had no idea how many days had passed. Arthur was quickly brought back to reality, and he started feeling as if he had spent a long time practicing with a bow and arrow.
Arthur closed his eyes and muttered, 'This stuff is quite broken.'
Weapon proficiency was the most difficult thing for an individual to gain in this world because it required a lot of effort and there was no shortcut, but Arthur had easily bypassed that.
He soon noticed a bee approaching the nectar, so he quickly drew the string and fired an arrow with the bow. Arthur, whose Archer skill was previously quite sloppy, was surprised because he felt that even his basic archery had reached a new level.

Arthur continued to fire single and double arrows as quickly as he could. He took a look at the storage ring and retrieved an energy replenishing potion that Lara had purchased for him, he drank it and he felt that his body ache began to subside a little, Arthur continued the hunt as the number of bees increased, Arthur had fired three bolts for more than a dozen times and he was about to reach level 8.
As he drank an energy potion, he smiled wickedly and mumbled, "Looks like I've turned into a camper now."
[Ding! [+100 Exp] Successfully killed an Iron-ranked beast
“Finally!”
Arthur ascended to the eighth level.
But Arthur did not move as he patiently waited there, Bee being a lower intelligence insect when compared to the Ape, has let him the camp and hunted them down calmly and without much effort.
As he gathered more beast cores, he decided to learn the skill: rapid shots. He was quickly dragged back into the mysterious space and found himself practicing rapid shots without tiring, the animation only stopping when it could fire one shot every second. Arthur, who came out, began practicing on live targets while gulping down energy potions, but things did not continue in the same direction as before, and the bees stopped leaving the nest.
He looked at the nest and was taken aback because all the bees were looking around vigilantly, and there was one large bee in the midst, completely colored with a silver hue, Arthur guessed that it must be the queen bee, and would have finally realized that its children were missing in large numbers.
Arthur considered whether he should flee or stay for a moment, but he decided to stay because there was only one thing that could truly threaten him, and the rest, even if he stood there, couldn't get past his battle suit.
Arthur drew his bow, focused, and aimed at the joint that connected its rear and top. He took a deep breath, pulled the string to its full limit, and then let it go.
Swoosh
Clang
The queen bee's forelegs intercepted the arrow in the middle of its flight. The bee took a step back as its foreleg that blocked the arrow trembled, it looked in the direction where the arrow was fired from but there was nothing, Arthur took off and jumped to more than a dozen trees as soon as his assassination attempt failed. And stood there silently observing the queen bee; after a few seconds, he decided to try again; as the queen bee was still sitting there and looking around keenly, he decided to pull out his ultimate weapon.

Arthur drew the massive crossbow and landed it slowly with difficulty on the branch. He took aim and released the bolt, which was as big as a spear, and flew straight for the bee's thorax. The queen bee, seeing the bolt coming at her, stretched her forelimbs in an attempt to block it, but as soon as the bolt hit her forelegs, it shattered like glass and flew straight for her thorax, killing her in one shot.
[Ding! +1000 Exp for successfully killing a mutated Iron ranked beast]
The bees went into a frenzy when they saw their queen being killed in front of them, and they all took off immediately, flying in all directions. Arthur hopped to a different tree, and he quickly opened the system interface.
He went to the skill interface and discovered that he needed 50 cores to learn level 2 of rapid-fire, which will allow him to move while firing the arrows. He was short of another 10 beast cores to learn the skill, so he took down his bow, moved all the quivers of arrows into the system storage space as it was easier to withdraw them, and Arthur took three arrows and quickly released them.
Three arrows flew through the air and stung three flying bees, killing them instantly. Arthur continued to fire shots as he moved around, and he soon reached level 9. Arthur's stats were slightly improved once more, and he had 50 cores to upgrade the skill. Arthur quickly pressed the upgrade button, and he found himself running in a dark space while rapidly firing the arrows. Arthur quickly regained consciousness, despite the fact that it felt like many weeks or even months in that mysterious place, only a second actually passed in real-time.
Arthur, who was more confident now, descended from the tree because he believed that this skill could only be used to its full potential on the ground. Arthur took off running out of the valley, and the frenzied bees who noticed him were all trying to kill their arch-nemesis.
Soon after leaving the forest, Arthur drew his bow and began to fire three bolts at a time, the bees began to fall like snowfall but were transported to the system storage space before they could hit the ground. After an hour of running around while firing and a couple of energy potions, Arthur finally stopped because there was nothing left for him to shoot in here.
He shook his head as he saw the status panel, as he currently requires 120,000 Exp.
"Hey, system, when I reach level 11, will I be promoted to bronze?"
Arthur inquired because he felt his leveling up was quite different when compared to others, as everyone goes through four different stages low, mid, high, and peak, he directly jumps from one rank to the next, which was why Lara was unable to feel his improvement as his aura remained the same.
It was quite normal, as even someone with a five-star aptitude requires more than a year to break through to bronze rank, and subsequent breakthroughs will take much longer if the normal route is followed.
However, if one has enough resources, there are always ways to speed up the process and immediately breakthrough. Those types of resources are something that even the largest academies in the Reynar kingdom will not be able to afford to spend on students, and it is only possible for the scions of the imperial family.
As the sky began to darken, Arthur decided to return. After nearly an hour of walking, he finally reached the mountain range. As he walked up, he noticed Lara sitting on a rock while holding her legs and observing the night sky and scenery. Arthur slowed down and stealthily walked towards her, and sat down next to her.
Lara, who had already noticed him, turned around with a cheerful smile and said, "You are much cleaner today," before fiddling with her hand with a disappointed expression.

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods.
