The club flew and landed on Stake's body and he groaned in pain. The goblin emperor felt a little wrong at what it was doing but proceeded on. Over and over he slammed his club onto Stake and Stake groaned in pain. As the goblin emperor kept hitting Stake, he was getting frustrated. Why doesn't Stake just die already?
Seeing that Stake was still breathing after being hit so many times, the goblin emperor used all its mana and slammed it down on Stake. After the goblin emperor took the club off Stake, he saw that Stake was still breathing.
"Why won't you, no, how are you still alive."
If Stake had been a normal rank 2 goblin, he would have already died long ago. But Stake was not a normal goblin, he had a natural trait called cold skin that reduced physical is done to him. Looking down at Stake who was not breathing or answering the goblin emperor looked towards Alto's corpse.
He decided to quit beating Stake and to just eat the corpse to become stronger. Eating the corpse wouldn't bring him to rank 3 since he wasn't at the peak rank three. What it would do however was boost his stats to peak rank 3.
He walked towards the corpse and was about to grab it but the corpse opened its eyes and used mental pressure with mana aura on him. The two passives made the goblin emperor froze. This was enough time for the undead giant who was still moving to slam its club at the goblin emperor's head.
The goblin emperor flew to the ground with a bloody head. He looked up at the undead giant in front of him who towered over him. Stake had damaged the undead giant badly, but not to the point where it was fully destroyed. The undead giant brought its club up and slammed it down on the goblin emperor who grabbed the club since he couldn't dodge.
The goblin emperor had used all his mana on Stake so he currently had none left. The club broke the bones in his arm and his body started healing rapidly. The undead giant kicked him in the stomach sending him tumbling onto the ground in pain. Mental pressure and mana aura were still on him so it was hard for him to think or move.
Altos who was watching to the side grabbed the ax in his head and pulled it out gently. The ax fell to the ground and the wound in his head healed rapidly. Altos spread his perception around him. The land was frozen with the castle in the distance partly frozen.

From the castle, Altos could see his sister and the knights coming towards him on tilzards. They soon reached him and saw the goblin emperor fighting with the undead giant.
Alcos saw how ragged her brother looked and went towards him with a worried look. The knights came too and guarded Altos. The goblin emperor saw that the situation was deteriorating and decided to run away.
Altos saw the goblin emperor running away and pointed his finger at him. A beam of dark energy flew and pierced the goblin emperor's legs. The goblin emperor fell and scream. The giant undead came upon him with its club. Seeing that he could no longer run he decided to fight the undead giant to the death.
After a while of harsh struggle, the goblin emperor managed to get the upper head on the undead giant and killed it. Looking at the unmoving undead giant the goblin emperor decided between running away or attacking Altos and his knights. After a moment of thinking, he decided to attack, none of the knights were rank two anyway.
Bracing the mental pressure and mana aura of Altos he charged forward. The knights trembled but prepared themselves. When the goblin emperor was upon them, a ballistic bolt flew towards its head and pierced it. Looking at where the ballistic bolt came from they saw a bunch of goblins with goblin mages.
The goblin mages stepped forward and Altos knew they were dead. The goblin mages prepared a spell to kill Altos and started until a soft voice spoke.
“Stop.”
The one who spoke was Stake, he was still battered and beaten on the ground. Glote and the other goblin mages saw that Stake was still alive and proceeded to heal him. Slowly Stake legs and bloodied body healed.
After Stake was fully healed he slowly stood up and the goblin mages surround him in a protective formation. Stake looked at the goblin mages and the goblin army that was around him. He knew why they came for him but he still wanted to ask.
“Why?”
The goblin mages and the goblin army looked at each other. They then all looked at Stake. They grinned and shout out different things.
“When I was hungry you fed me.”
“When I was sick you cared for me.”
“When I was in danger you saved me.”
“You're the best goblin ever.”
“Where ever you’ll go, we’ll go with you.”
When Stake heard their words his heart melted and a tear fell. He touched it and wondered how it got there. Never once in his life had he cried. His heart started feeling warm from hearing his kinds words. It wasn't the warm heart that he felt from battle. It was the warm heart that he felt from love. Love that not many goblins felt.

His warm heart tried to infiltrate his cold mind which became mellow from his kinds words. He let the warm feeling infiltrate his mind. Slowly Stake started becoming less blue. Soon he quickly lost all of his blue colors and became light green.
Stake took a deep breath and breathed. The breath was warm and it melted away the cold landscape. Stake saw how his kind didn't do well with the cold so he got rid of it. After looking at his kind who cheered him on, he went and turned to Altos. Altos looked at him nuetrally while his knights and sister stared at him in fear.
“Why did you do that?” Stake asked Altos.
“What do you mean, goblin?” Altos answered while looking into Stake's red eyes with his blue eyes.
“I'm asking why you didn't kill me even though I was still alive. Why didn't you just let my emperor go and killed me instead? If you had let my emperor go, you could have taken care of him after you regained your strength.”
Altos shrugged his shoulder. “I heard what your emperor said and felt pity for you that's all.”
“Pity?” Stake asked with his piercing eyes.
“Yes pity, nothing more, nothing less.”
Stake thought for a moment and then spoke. “I'll spare you since your pitiful too, when I reach rank 3, you will be nothing but an ant in front of me.”
The goblin mages and the goblin army heard what Stake said and wanted to complain but the confidence in Stake's voice stopped them.
“Stake, you should eat the goblin emperor body and take his core,” Glote said while looking into his eyes.
The army and goblin mages heard what Glote said and agreed. Stake looked at them and shook his head.
“If it weren't for him, our kind would still be a tribe and would have never achieved this level of power. Even if he wasn't the best emperor, he was still there with us. We will keep his mana core to honor him.”
Stake burned away the goblin emperor's body and took his core. He handed the core to Glote and told him to keep it safe. The goblins did not argue with Stake since they felt what he said was right.
“Everyone, do you agree Stake should be the new goblin emperor?” Globe screamed with the core in his hand.
Every goblin heard his voice since it was imbued with mana and screamed yes. Stake froze and looked at his kind. Then he simply smiled and spoke.
“As your new emperor, I degree that we take our spoils of war and find a new mountain to start a new empire. Are you with me?”
All the goblins screamed yes and Stake walked away from Altos and his group. Before he could walk far, Altos spoke.
“Goblin emperor Stake, would you like to make an Alliance with me?” Altos smiled at him with intelligent eyes.
Stake stopped and looked at him. “Why would I ally with you?”
Altos stood up from the ground and the sun shined on him in the green land. He looked around the land while taking a fresh breath of air.
"You simply seem like a reliable guy to have an alliance with. Also, the two ranks 3 emperors of humanity won't stand by and just watch you consolidate your new empire. With me in alliance with you, we can keep the two of them in check. I also need you in order to fight back the two rank 3 emperors."
Glote heard what Altos said and spoke. "Your willing to let us killing your kind slide and make an alliance with us. I don't believe in such things."
Altos shrugged his shoulder. "The dead have no voices and revenge is nothing but an emotion that drives humans. As long as I can achieve what I want I can set aside most emotions."
"And what is it that you want to achieve?" Stake asked while speaking calmly.
"What I want to achieve is power, power that will protect everything I hold dear. In a way, are we not similar emperor Stake?"
Stake nods and looked at his kind. Glote spoke when he saw what Stake was asking from them.
"You have never led us wrong so we will follow you Stake."
Stake nods at Glote and turned to Altos who smiled.
"I, goblin emperor Stake, accept an alliance with human emperor Altos."
