《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 41 Got The Power

The four reached Yelina city while being invisible. The city was beautiful. Most buildings in Yelina city were made of and stone. There was a variety of colors in the city. Palm trees dotted the street. Rivers flowed from the temple where mages honed their magic by casting water into a pool of lake.
The rivers spanned for miles and gave the city life; it also made the city look beautiful. The city's towering walls showed that it was secure and safe.
The four landed in an alley where there was no one and Jelly took off the invisibility. There were some barrels and boxes in the alley, they were most likely used as trashcans. Looking above they could see hanging cloths that dripped water down towards the four of them, which Jelly blocked
“Alright now, let's find your wife and kid.”
They walked towards the exit of the alley. Once they reached the exit of the alley they were amazed by everything they say, everything seemed different. Tesra had a realisation while looking at the people in front of them.
“Jelly, can we speak their languages?”
“About that, don't worry about it. I have a spell that translates languages and lets our words become their words. I used the spell on all three of us the moment we met Halgin.”
Tesra nods with amazement. She didn't know how Jelly created such a spell, but it was pretty mind-blowing to her. Looking around, Halgin didn't seem to know where to start. Jelly had already located his family using DNA detection but Halgin didn't need to know that.
“Halgin, what's your family name.”
Brought out of his trance, Halgin spoke.
“My wife’s name is Killan, my son is Malen, and my daughter is Xajra.”
“Cool names, let's ask someone here if they know any of your family's names.”
Looking at a random kid walking the street, Jelly pulled him gently to the side. The kid had sandy hair, tan skin, and brown eyes. The kid looked at them in confusion while the two guards beside the kid took out their spears.
“Who are you, let go of the prince or you'll be punished.”
Tesra and Halgin became flustered and panicked while Jelly ignored the two guards. The people in the street looked at Jelly with the kid curiously.
“Kid, do you happen to know Killan?”
The kid looked at Jelly and spoke.
“That's my grandmother, what about her?”
“Hey Halgin, give me your necklace.”
Halgin who was in a daze about what he heard took out his necklace. Jelly was getting annoyed with the crowd and influenced their minds to do their own things. The guards who were getting aggressive were frozen stiff by Jelly. The prince panicked when he saw this. Halgin was amazed but still handed the necklace. Jelly took the necklace and opened it, he then showed it to the prince.

“Is this what Killan looks like?”
The prince looked at the picture with shock. His father who seemed young was in the picture, his aunt who seemed young was also in the picture, and his grandmother who seemed young was also in the picture. There was another picture in the photo, the prince saw that the other picture was the father of the family.
The prince then looked at Halgin, the beard made Halgin look different but the resemblance to the picture was still there. Shaking with excitement, the prince spoke.
“Are you grandpa Halgin?”
Halgin could only nod. Jelly let go of the prince and the prince slowly walked up to Halgin.
“Grandma always talks about you, she said you sailed the sea to make money for the family. She doesn't know what happened to you at sea and hoped you were still alive.”
“Grandpa, would you like to visit grandma now that you are back?”
“Yes, I would very much like to.”
The guards who heard everything were shocked. Jelly let go of their restraint and looked at Halgin.
“This is where we part ways Halgin, perhaps well meet again since I plan on living in this city for a while.”
“Thank you for saving me, I'll repay you if we ever meet again,” Halgin said with tears.
“No need, that fish you cooked was very tasty.”
Jelly walked away from Halgin and Tesra followed after him. They passed through many beautiful buildings and stalls selling a variety of stuff.
“Tesra, find a building that you like, I'll follow after you.”
“Why Jelly?”
“I or we plan on staying in this place for a few years while training you to become stronger.”
Tesra nodded and started walking around. After walking for a while, Fluff chirped.
“What is it Fluff,” Tesra spoke softy.
Fluff flew from Tesra's shoulder and onto a glass jar. The stall owner with a mustache smiled.
“Your bird has a fine eye, these are baby sandworms, very tasty and nutritious to birds.”
Fluff chirped and hopped around the glass jar filled with baby sandworms. Jelly looked at the sandworms with amazement. The sandworms wiggled efficiently through the sand.
“How much do they cost?” Tests asked.
“100 gold coins per jar young lady.”
Tesra almost coughed blood. Jill had taught her about the economy before, this jar was way beyond pricy. A hundred copper was worth 1 silver coin, a hundred silver was worth 1 gold coin and a hundred gold coin was worth 1 mythril coin. Ten copper coins were enough to feed a family of five for a whole day. Seeing her reaction which he expected, the merchant spoke.
“Baby sandworms are extremely precious, adventurers have to brave into sandworms territory in order to dig them up.”

Tesra noded and Jelly paid 500 gold coins for five jars. Tesra took a Jar into her hand and opened it. Fluff immediately landed on the edge of the jar and started pecking at sandworms. Tesra looked at Fluff cutely. Fluff ate while chirping.
The two walked on for a long while before Tesra found a house she like. Jelly bought it and they started putting their stuff down which Jelly carried by minimization. Jelly stared at the palm tree outside the house and admired its beauty. The house was big and they would need servants for it. Looking far into the city, Jelly thought of the slave market.
“Tesra, would you like to go pick out a slave with me?”
Tesra became surprised that the slave market operated here. There was no slave market in Mianol, mainly because Galvion single candidly dismantled the entire slave trade.
“There's a slave market here?”
“I see why you’re surprised, but different places have a different culture. If you don't want slaves in this house, we can always hire servants. I just wanted to buy some slaves so I could free them for fun.”
“I'm okay with slaves, let's go pick them out.”
“Alright then, I hope you have good eyes for slaves.”
Jelly then walked towards the exit of the house and Tesra followed after.
“What does that mean?”
“It means that are legendary slaves and common slaves. Legendary slaves can read, write, and wield the sword. Common slaves only know how to do labor. The two walked for a while and they soon reached the slave market. One might think two childrens walking alone would stand out but Jelly’s used magic to make people ignore them and treat them as adults.
The slave market had chains, cages, and other stuff. On a stage in the middle of the market, slaves were being auctioned off. Tesra looked at everything with disgust and hatred while Jelly just smiled. Jelly saw that Tesra mana was boiling and calmed her down.
Tesra spoke with emotions and a little rage. “Jelly, I don't like this place, it makes my blood boil.”
“Now now, calm down, well leave soon enough.” Jelly replied calmly.
Tesra spoke softly with calm intelligence. “Jelly, your the strongest in the world right?”
Looking at her with a little surprise, Jelly nodded. Seeing his agreement, she spoke with curiosity and hope.
“Why don't you make the world a better place?”
Jelly calmly looked at her and the entire city stopped moving. Everything single living thing in the city stopped moving, not even the wind blew. Objects falling stopped falling.
“Why should I make the world a better place?” Jelly spoke with closed eyes and a calm smile.
Tesra looked at him a little fearfully while looking at the surrounding. She saw that nothing was moving, everything stood still. She wondered how it was possible but her question overcame her curiosity.
“Shouldn’t those with powers help others?”
“Ah yes, with great power come great responsibility. I've heard that line back where I lived many times.”
Jelly then opened his eyes and looked at her with a calm smile. He spoke softy as if he was speaking to a child.
“Tesra, you have to understand; just because one has power doesn't mean they can enforce their will on the world. Well, they can but that's not the point. The point is simply that there is no point. If I were to give you an honest answer, I can indeed enforce my will on this world and make it a better place. But that's not what I want to do, that's what people without power want me to do. I refuse to be their slaves who bring them peace. They will either work for their peace or die trying. You are just like them, you rely on me for peace. But one day I won't be here. When I'm no longer here, I hope you can stand on your own. Let the world flow to its rhythm, I'll walk with my rhythm. Do you understand?”
Tesra didn't understand all of it but nodded sadly. She thought about the fact that Jill was going to leave her someday which made her sad. Jill who didn't like what she was seeing switched with Jelly. She cupped Tesra face cheeks and Tesra looked at her.
“One day when you grow up, you'll be shaped by the rhythm of the world. I only wish for your happiness Tesra. As you grow, you will change. If you don't change and decide to make the world dance to your rhythm, then I'll be there with you. I promise you that.”
Tesra nodded with happiness and hugged Jill. Jill patted her head and comforted her. After they were done hugging, Tesra spoke.
“I'll try to see the world through your perspective, Jill.”
“That fine and dandy, now let's look for some slave to free.”
They went around and bought many slaves, after returning home with the slaves; Jill gave the slaves two choices. She could remove their brand and set them free, or they could stay and work for her. Most of the slaves they bought were childrens, they had nowhere to go so they choose to stay with Jill.
The reason most slaves they bought were children was because most slaves in the slave markets were criminals and Jill had no thought of freeing criminals, but children, were another thing.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
