《Multi Me Myself And I》Ch. 50 Demon Surge

It has been 8 years in Yelina and Tesra had grown as a warrior. Tesra was currently walking along the desert sand alone while wearing a white helmet, white armor, and a pair of white boots. A scabbard was by her side with a sword in it.
Currently, she was trying to complete a task from the adventurer organization. The task was to kill a low-rank 2 deetle. Deetles were humanoid beetles, they were one of the most terrifying creatures in the desert.
A deetles chitin is as strong as steel and it looked a sandy; it’s also is enchanted with mana. They had sharp claws that could cut through steel like butter. Their eyesight gave them a 360-degree perspective while allowing them to dodge any incoming attack that wasn't too fast.
On their back were wing shells that protected their wings. Their wings gave them agile flight and burst of speeds. Their sharp legs were long and could let them leap great distances.
Deetles liked to hunt alone by flying through the sky searching for prey. If they didn't hunt alone, they would group up together with their kinds and camouflage in the sand waiting for prey. Once a prey came into their sight, they would leap forward and slash the prey to death.
Tesra was currently mid-rank 2 and she felt confident against most creatures in the desert. It had been a few days since she started traveling and she had finally reached the deetles territory.
Spreading her mana perception to the area, she detected a few rank 1 deetles along with a few rank 2 deetles. The deetles saw her and were waiting for her to come into their attack range.
Tesra stayed still for a moment and looked at the surrounding which was filled with dunes. In the distance, she could see a few Hacti. A hacti is a plant that is native to this desert. It was a green plant that had a protective black spike with a few yellow flowers that lured insects towards it. Most creatures don't bother with Hacti and just leave them alone.
Tesra took out and her sword and started walking forward. One step, two-step, three-step, and she soon came into the deetles attack range.
A total of four deetles leaped towards her with their wing increasing their speed. Tesra swung her sword and deflected their attacks. They attacked again instantly.
Tesra reflected their attack far faster than the eye can see while the beetles kept increasing their attack speed. As their attack speed kept increasing, Tesra used a spell that allowed her to see time in slow motion.
Although the spell allowed her to see sand falling like feathers, the deetles attack was far faster than the sand falling and she parried them one after another. Whenever Tesra sees an opening, she would attack and then back off.

Throughout the whole fight, she kept calm with her blue piercing eyes pinpointing every attack. Tesra kept deflecting the deetles attack while attacking, it went on for a while until the deetles started getting tired.
The deetles didn't realize they were tired since they had adapted to remove pain along with most of their senses. Their speed gave them many openings and Tesra killed two of them. Seeing that their teammates were dying, they started backing off.
They were about to run entirely which gave them more openings. Tesra swiftly killed the last two and the surrounding deetles tried to decide whether they wanted to attack or not.
Tesra saw that the deetles were overpopulated and didn't plan on sparing many of them. She casted a taunt spell and every deetles attack. Casting a spell on a the sword, she sliced with water that tore through most deetles.
Tesra then casted another spell which made the surviving deetles scram. Looking at the deetle's corpses, she tied their bodies with ropes and flew back towards Yelina.
Back in Yelina in an underground room, Jelly was currently dissecting a demon. The demons were red humanoid beings with very thick skin and a long tail with sharp ears. The demon in front of Jelly had been a really strong fighter. It beat Tesra to a bloody pulp and the twins had to work together to take it down.
Demons had started appearing seven years ago but Jelly and the others were never interested in them. To them, it was just another day of demon lord invasion and a hero would be born to save the day.
Demons increased their mana capacity by feeding on the mana essence of the corrupt or bad people. Mana essence that came from good people harmed demons instead.
The reason for this is because corruption means power. Demon idolizes power above all else. The feeling of corrupt mana essence in their bodies made them stronger. Mana essence from good people did not give them a sense of power, it gave them the sense of peace which made them feel weak. Enough good mana essence could turn a demon into an angel.
The demons counterpart, the angels were also like them but different. Good mana essence gave angels peace which made them feel good and strong, it is peace in hard times that gives them a sense of strength. Corrupt mana essence gave them a feeling of power and danger, it made them feel weak from losing the self-control they had over themselves. Enough corrupt mana could turn an angel into a demon.
Humans and other creatures of the world could absorb any type of mana essence they wanted. When they die their mana essence will either carry their soul to the Anola tree or the Denola tree. If one seeked peace with good mana essence they will reach the Anola tree. If one seeked power with corrupt mana essence, they will reach the Denola tree. Both places weren't bad, it just depended on what one wanted.

If one seeked power through good mana essence, their soul will go to a place not many has been to. If one seeked peace through corrupt mana essence, their soul will also go to a place not many has been to.
Jelly wasn't interested in angels and demons, he just wanted to know where the other types of people go. So far he had been fruitless in his research. He could only come up with theories like they get isekai’d or something.
Thinking about his fruitless research, Jelly wondered whether he should make a thoughtless serum or not. The other two heard his thought and immediately pulled him back to the main body. Inside the head of the main body, Jack and JJ started chewing out Jelly.
“You know the thoughtless serum makes us feel suicidal, why would you even think of that,” Jack spoke while looking at Jelly as if he was an idiot.
“This body and other bodies in the world aren't very advanced, to use the thoughtless serum without dying; we would need a body with the same capability as our original body,” JJ spoke trying to reason with Jelly.
Jelly sighed and spoke, “I know, I know, it was just a thought, just a thought.”
Jack spoke with a sigh. “Well get rid of that thought, bros before hoes man.”
JJ and Jelly looked at Jack blankly and Jack disappeared.
JJ turned to look at Jelly and spoke calmly. “Since the tension bomb is defused, we should get going.”
Jelly blankly looked at JJ and JJ disappeared away.
In the continent of Mianol, an all-out war was going on in the elven territory. Felta flew in the sky and bombarded the demons with giant fireballs while dancing around.
Silna looked at him blankly and flooded the battlefield with water. Because of the threat of demons, she had quickly broken through to rank 3 to with the help of Frlta. The two loved their kind and wished to protect them.
A giant fire lizard demon came forth from underground and blew flame into her flood of water which evaporated it. The fire lizard was mid-rank 3 and it whipped its tail on the ground which sent debris of fire flying through the sky. Silna blocked the debris of fire with a wall of water and sent a giant ice spike towards the fire lizard.
The fire-lizard dodged to the side and something slammed into its body. The fire-lizard flew through the battlefield crashing into many demons. It gripped its four legs onto the ground and stopped.
Using its heat vision, it saw that a fire elf had slammed into it. The fire elf charged towards him without being invisible since he had already been exposed. The fire-lizard shot out a sharp tongue and pierced through the lower half of the fire elf's body. Silna saw the scene and screamed with shock.
Before she could fly towards Felta, an elf had hugged her from behind which stopped her. She looked behind thinking who would dare stop her and saw that it was Felta. Her brain quickly processed the information and realized it was only a substitute that died in Felta place.
She blushed and quickly got away from Felta. Felta laughed and the fire-lizard tongue came towards him which slammed onto him and obliterated him.
Silna was once again shocked. Her eyes widen and she was about to lose her mind until Felta hugged her from behind again. She looked at him feeling relieved and stupid again.
The fire-lizard shot its tongue again and this time Silna enchanted her body with mana and grabbed the tongue. She sent freezing ice through the tongue and the fire-lizard bit its tongue off. Its eyes gleamed with cunning intelligence.
It burrowed into the ground and Silna looked at Felta while sighing. He simply looked at her whiling smiling sheepishly with his cane. He flew towards and hugged her away.
The ground below them broke apart and the fire-lizard came flying out from the ground. It flew towards them at fast speed while Felta bombarded it with fireballs. Silna who was in his arm sent a barrage of ice spikes toward the fire lizard. The fire-lizard simply whipped them away with its tail.
In the Dion kingdom, Altos and Stake were shredding through the demon horde while smiling. They were smiling for a very simple reason. Demons and angels did not have mana core, they instead have mana essences which was the best version of mana capacity.
Killing a demon and harvesting their mana essence meant one could get stronger very easily. Other countries did not sit around, where ever there were demons, there were battles to be fought.
No one knew when the demon surge would be over. One thing for sure is that the power scale of everything will shift during the demon surge. By the end of everything, new powerhouses will form.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

Young bloods (WIP)
" So-called leaders prostituted their people to wars and abuse. They destroyed families, culture and economies; their hands dyed red by the blood of the children, the families trampled by their lecherous motivations and diabolical war machines. Trained and taught by the Revenants or rather “young bloods” from their war-torn world, we were going to build a better world for us and for the later generations, a world when there shall be no more wars waged over territory, a world where boys and girls can frolic around for all of eternity." -Sasha, Terutan regular army cadet. ‘History is determined by the victors, and here we stand transcended over those who abused us. History is filled with liars, broken promises of eternal prosperity and peace. The more things change, the more things stayed the same: ideology change, location shift but power will always find a place to rest its head. We fought and bled for the adults, the grown men and women who preached of us being their future, preached us of the freedom from tyranny and slavery; no wonder why we hated them so. History is determined by the victor, and there shall be no victors when we’re done.’- Yulia Bronskavya, Red Army Homeguard. 'As they left their former life behind, the young soldiers and operators found themselves being deceived, abused and taken advantaged off again by the elders of this world.
