"What? How? I'm at level 10, and you said that you are too. You said so, didn't you?" Luna almost panicked. She couldn't understand how a player could lose levels without dying. And even by dying, one could lose only a bit of EXP.

"The error didn't allow me to enter Cube 2, it gave status and I guess it led to a reset of my stats. It took me so long, I'm going to cry." Safo couldn't imagine fighting any monster with his current stats.

"Wait a minute, it is right here. Maybe the system is not so cruel to me after all. It placed us straight to the necessary location. Nice. Let's go to the agreed place. Then we can finish the secret quest." Some good news cheered up Safo. But he still felt anxious because he had to go and gain EXP from the start.

Beginning from Cube 2, teleporting to any location was allowed, and it didn't matter if a player was there before. It made quest completions more manageable.

Dwellings of the Living Trees were in every Cube. That is why many tree characters had a secret quest - Pilgrimage. Higher the Cube higher the reward for visiting it.

Safo and Luna were the last ones to teleport to the location. BlackSly and Miloud(RedDot) were already there, shopping for new armor pieces.

I have good and bad new folks. The good news is that I have some status as a Pro-player, I don't know what it is though. The bad one is that I'm level 1 again." Safo didn't wait for them to choose between news and told everything without a delay.

"We will figure it out after you finish your quest for this Cube. Please hurry." Miloud never heard any status except "Criminal" and "Imprisoned".

Safo began his chat with a yellow-green mighty tree, the girth of which was more than 50 meters. During the chat, the tree rewarded him with one piece of a set of armor.

It was a helmet, well its name was a helmet. In reality, it was a huge leaf that glued itself on top of Safo's branches. The rest of the set he could obtain by finishing two more quests of the current location.

The best part of Tier 2 set, with a bonus of extra defense and HP.

Miloud explained that a player was allowed to get only on Tier 3 equipment per Cube. Even though a player could choose not to have any Tier 3 and still move on to the next Cube, one couldn't obtain more than one Tier 3 in a given Cube.

So the best option to have a powerful character was to get a Tier 3 weapon on Cube 1 and then one Tier 3 thing in Cube 2, while the rest of the equipment should be Tier 2.

Helmet - The Leaf of Life Tree, had 1 Defense point. And the completed set gave 3 points, double of the Cube 1 equipment.

"And again, I cannot look more ridiculous. Is there no way for trees to look cool?" Safo complained after seeing how everybody was giggling at his new look.

"Anyway, if we want to go hunting to raise your level we have to finish gathering your armor set first," Miloud suggested to walk around and seek for required quests.

"Guys, I must decline. I thank you for your help, it was the most fun. But I have some work to steal, I mean to do." BlackSly laughed and excused himself. The rest of the team understood his situation and let him go.

The following day Safo spent time playing The Cube. He took breaks only to eat and go to the restroom.

The trio of Miloud, Safo, and Luna found the other two quests, from the tree creatures. One asked to bring him the blood of the forest wolves, and the second asked to plant a tree in the forest.

"Relatively easy quests." The trio agreed and moved towards the forest. On the way, Safo planted, more like just put twenty seeds on the ground, and a momentarily quest was completed. He ran to the Tree for his reward and received boots.

Mukluk Harmonizing with Nature - also had 1 Defense point.

“Easy-peasy.” Safo proclaimed.

Trio's first enemies were Mad Roots, small and crazy roots that ran around, screamed in high pitched voice, and bite everything they saw.

For Safo, they weren't a big deal. He baited his hand to bite and when the small monster locked itself in a bite Safo caught it tightly and unleashed a series of punches. Safo didn't receive damage from the teeth because of his gloves being a weapon.

Safo couldn't believe his ears and eyes. He heard and saw perfectly fine but it was something out of the world.

Luna and Miloud noticed his perplexity.

"I know you probably had a lot of EXP, it is because you are at level 1 while a small thing is level 10. Why do you look so surprised?" Miloud calculated that the first couple of levels shouldn't be a problem.

"Pro-player doubled my experience, I'm at level 6 already." Safo grinned and jumped after another Mad Root. With his new skills in combat, mindless monsters didn't possess a threat to him.

"Yes, it is legit. I'm gaining a double EXP from the kill. Juicy!" With a roar that outvoiced the screamy Mad Roots, Safo rushed into the fray.

"This guy is getting more and more cheater stuff. Not fair." Miloud looked at Luna seeking support but she felt only pride for Safo and was determined to be a match for Safo's strength.

For the next hour, the team fought their way towards the designated spot where the wolves were supposed to be. Safo reached level 9, the rest were confidently going to level 11.

Each of them already gathered their Strength and Agility orbs.

Wolves at the border of the forest were gray in color and level 12. Slightly bigger than regular Earth wolves Poison Grey Wolves utilized poison that they store in fangs and claws.

"I don't know much about Cube 2, but by the name of these wolves, I assume it is better not to be injured by them. Safo, create a small shield to defend yourself and try bashing attacks." Miloud swiftly divided the roles.

[ Tier 1 Spiky Shield had been successfully created. -100 MP ]

"What the hell? Why did it cost an MP all of a sudden?" Safo asked nobody in particular, he understood that Cube 1 was just training camp.

"Welcome to the real world!" Miloud caught the wolves' attention.

With a crimson shield that had sharp spikes attached to it, Safo also ran towards the pack of wolves. Safo had the luckiest day when he was in the icy field between the crowd full of Tier 3 weapons.

His list of weapons now consisted of more than 30 weapons and shields.

That particular shield was Tier 3 Spiky Shield. At the top tier, it had 5 defense points, poison attack, and increased owners HP. It was the best shield that Safo saw so far.

At Tier 1 though, it had only 3 Defense. Which was fine, Safo used his fists to deal with his enemies anyway.

Safo rammed the side of the wolf that was preparing an attack against Miloud while he fought several wolves simultaneously. Airily as always.

Luna, from a safe distance, aimed very well and accurately almost finished one of the wolves. She redied it for Safo to finish off. It was his quest after all.

Alternating fencing off, bashing attacks and hooks Safo killed his first Poison Grey wolf. Nine left until the quest's end.

After his first kill, Safo drew himself closer to the one that Luna prepared for him. A quick series of jabs and the second wolf was dead.

Miloud signaled him to change position so Safo could deal with three wolves that Miloud left barely alive. In no time the quest was finished. On the way back, Safo reached level 10.
