Chapter 79: Wedding
"Run, Safo run, Please, run. Don't die like a pathetic loser under some crazy chicken legs. Everybody will laugh at you. Speed. I'm the speed. Faster than fast. Quicker than qui--'
Safo had been stamped to death.
[ You have died. ]
[ Penalty 100 Exp Points. Nothing dropped. ]
[ Pro-player activated: Extra life per Cube granted. ]
Safo reappeared behind the birds. They already passed him and were at the mountain foot. Under the dust, Safo hadn't a good view but he saw the backs of the ostriches.
"I'm alive?!" Safo patted himself to make sure that he didn't die, looked around to be sure that he was at the same place and not at the settlement where he was supposed to respawn.
"This Pro-player is an awesome thing. I wonder how others can receive it. Anyway, it is time to punish my killers." From that moment Safo went on a rampage. Jabs, hooks, blocks, and copied from Miloud moves.
Red-eyed ostriches were level 13 and below. With 160 HP at max, they died after 5-6 hits from Safo. With a new wave of motivation after being resurrected by his Status, Safo didn't want to stop fighting. He was determined to make his way to his friend, and the path was about to be made out of corpses of birds.
Luna was the first one to notice Safo Nur fighting amid birds. They surrounded him, each tried to peck him at least one time.
"There, he is alive. We must help." Luna sent her arrow to assist her dear friend. The wooden doll and a ceramic lady were perplexed by the fact that the young guy was alive. Quickly all three melee fighters were on the ground engaged in a fight with countless ostriches.
"How is he still alive? Is he a virgin to have so much luck? Haha." Koprt gave his usual loud laugh and drew his giant hammer. The contrast of big metal in hands of a wooded humanoid was rather comical than alarming.
"Don't make me laugh honey, we are in a serious battle." Vlouda drew an even bigger size hammer and threw herself into the heat of the fray with deafening warcry. The contrast of a fragile appearance and her personality along with her weapon was confusing.
Despite wielding enormous weapons the couple was nifty and skillful. Their strikes threw birds left and right, up and down. Quickly the focus of the flock turned from Safo to the new trio that harassed their lines shamelessly.

Individually level 13 Ostriches weren't a big of a deal, their power was in their number, and even that only when they ran. The stationary bird was weak and had not a lot of pecking strength. In less than half an hour the new team was able to finish off most of the flock before they took off running.
Safo was 9 HP apart from dying, for the second time. He acknowledged that the Status of a Pro-player gave him a privilege to be resurrected only once in a Cube. But he wasn't scared, even when tens of birds pecked and pushed him. He was able to hold for so long thanks to his new favorite shield - Spiky Shield.
Additionally, Safo reached level 11. And again his Status which doubled his EXP aided him a big deal.

"You guys are professional players I see." Koprt was amazed by their style of fighting. He and his wife just swung their mighty hammers. Everything they knew they learned in the game, while Miloud and Safo seemed to be in a good shape even in real life.
"Do you guys still want to get married?" Safo didn't forget about their secret quest. He wanted to help and to attend a wedding. "Can I be your best man?"
"Of course you can, if you explain to me what it is. Haha."
"Let's go, I will do it on the way."
The quintet moved towards the location that they came from. With their slow pace, it took them half a day to reach the place. Some of the Red-eyed Ostriches tried to oppose them but quickly ran away.
Koprt and Vlouda took their places in front of each other inside the empty nest of the ostriches. In the Cube, there was a special spell to create a marriage bond between two in-love adventurers. In unison, they began to say the words.
"I, Korpt (Vlouda), want to ask all Gods of the dimension to bless our marriage. Upon my soul, I swear to love my wife (husband) for the rest of my life. And be with her (him) even after death."

"By the tradition of our world, we now have to exchange gifts with each other. I gift you this crown that I bought in the settlement." Vlouda put the crown on Kurpt's head. "You are my King."
"I want to give you this egg that I stole from this nest, yesterday night. Hahaha." Korpt burst into laughter. "Let's create a baby of our own."
"You are so silly. I love you." Newlyweds engaged in a long and passionate kiss embarrassing onlookers.
Miloud, Safo, and Luna, who stood blushing, looked at each other, proud that they helped to organize such a beautiful event.
"What did you get, Vlouda?" Miloud couldn't help his curiosity anymore.
"'Blessing of the love' for being married and extra 50 HP for completing my secret quest." Seeing confused faces Vlouda told the details about the "Blessing of the love".
It was a skill that only married couples in The Cube possessed. An ability to transfer some of the HP to their significant one in times of need. With her bonus of 50 HP, she had more than enough to fight with alphas and players. But if she or her husband happened to lose most of the HP and had a lack of potions then the other spouse could give his/her HP.
"It is convenient. We should do that too, Luna. Do you wish to marry me in the game?" Miloud's brain thought for the future, Luna was always in the rear so she rarely lost any HP. It was only natural if she could help her teammates.
"Why you? I want to marry her too, I need healing more than you." Safo cut in on their conversation. It was him who was always in a near-death condition.
"You two are siblings. Isn't it a disgusting thing to do for siblings? And on top of that, you have your Blessing of Nature. You don't need potions."
"Where did you get that? We are not siblings, we aren't even related in any way. We are just roommates. So she will be my wife, you find a girl for yourself. Am I right, Luna? Luna?" Safo looked at the completely red Luna, who was about to explode.
"Don't look at me like that and don't ask me this type of question, silly. I will marry only the guy who has a castle in possession." She turned in a different direction from the boys.
"What? A castle? Why do you need a castle? You want to marry a prince like in the fairytales?" Safo jested. It was fun to see Luna so embarrassed.
"No! It is not like that. I have a secret quest: if I marry someone who owns a castle, the system will grant the second ability to it." Luna defended herself, she didn't want to look like a capricious little girl. She wanted to be a player, an adventurer, who would win the game.
"I see now. That is why you giggled every time Miloud talked about his secret quest of conquering the castle. Haha. Then it is fine. I won't force you." Safo gave up the idea, maybe someday he would find another girl.
"I... I will succeed in my secret quest then. And after that, I will ask you the same question again." Miloud somewhat was determined and firm about his decision.
Luna turned around and simply said: "Fine."
Safo sent a crocked, mocking grin towards Miloud and Luna and decided to let them be.
"So, what about dinner ladies and gentlemen?"
All agreed. On a cheerful note, everybody used their scrolls to teleport to the Kharhbatum Settlement.
Before logging out they had a wonderful time in front of delicious food. It wasn't real but tasted and smelled even better.
Turned out that Korpt was a war veteran who lost his legs in the battle. They lived on a small and poor planet that belonged to the Empire. Vlouda was a miner on asteroids that ringed the planet. With her hard work, she provided the food and rent money. Korpt worked as a manager and was responsible for selling the ore and gems found by his wife.
They exchanged VDtalk Ids and logged out.
"Hey Safo, how did you survive the flock?" Miloud and Luna were impatient to know the truth. They didn't believe that it was just by pure luck.
