Chapter 81: Pro-player deactivated
In the Runiau Village, Safo and Luna were dining in the cafe. Luna enjoyed the meals and snacks in the game, for her it was the only way to taste food without taking over Safo's body. So, quite often, she spent her or Safo's money in the restaurants and snack shops. Even at the moment, their table was full of different delicious virtual food.
Luna couldn't stop eating and petting her unborn pet. In her system screen, while looking at the egg, the timer could be seen.
[167 minutes. ]
She couldn't wait to see her new pink eagle pet.
"Let it be, Luna. Eat your dessert. We spent all our money on this food. We are broke again. We better go and hunt some monsters and sell parts and drop, to earn money."
Earlier they wasted their finances to purchase all sorts of arrows, which helped greatly. Luna was able to save her MP up until the end. Which on its own didn't slow down their trip even more.
"I'm eating, it is just those guys who are playing on my nerves. How can civilized people behave in that way?! This kills my appetite a bit." Luna was looking behind Safo where a group of guys was harassing a beautiful waitress NPC.
A purple-haired young girl, with three cute red horns, popping out from her straight and shiny hair, was trying to get away from the rude grasps of the adventurers. It was a common sight to encounter in the game.
NPCs before Cube 5 had not had much freedom in their system, they had been created that way. They couldn't talk back or hurt players. Many young impudent males, sometimes even females, abused that feature to fulfill their dirty desires. That is why Cubes 2,3, and 4 were so stuffed with people.
Everybody knew that the intelligence points of monsters and NPCs were equal to the number of the Cube. 1 Intelligence point granted NPC to do its job written by the developers. 1 Intelligence point of the monsters did nothing, frankly, monsters kept hating players and tried to stick together.
At 5 IP, an NPC could interact with the adventurers, make decisions and even protect itself. By the Cube 8, NPCs could gain EXP and fight monsters, join guilds, and hunt adventurers to get revenge.

At the Cube 5, adventurers not once encountered docile monsters. While at Cube 8, monsters had their armies and villages. They could go to war with adventurers or NPCs. The largest "smart" race of monsters was the Pig race, currently, it was the most powerful army in Cube 8.
Safo didn't care about the situation. It was a game for players to be satisfied. And the game provided many ways to have fun. Why should he disturb other players with his morals about non living, programmed NPCs?
"I can't stand it anymore!" With those words, Luna sent an arrow between the guys and a poor girl. An arrow struck the wooden table separating the couple in an instant. The waitress ran away nimbly, while the guy was fuming anger. Somebody just dared to disturb his favorite time in the game.
"You there, did you want to replace the girl? Do you want me to rape you bitch?" The guy in heavy orange armor with an ornament of some guild drawn on it walked towards Safo and Luna's table. He and his five other friends saw the bow in the yellow bird's wing-hands
Safo took a long sigh, he smelled trouble. "Put your egg somewhere safe, Luna. Stay behind me and charge when you are ready." Safo created his red Spiky Shield But failed all three times. His success rate was 50% but it was too unfortunate to fail three times in a row. He had one last chance but decided to wait a bit.
"We are sorry guys, she saw a bug flying around and was just aiming it. No offense. We don't want problems. How about we all forget about it?" Safo felt like the main character of western movies about cowboys in a bar.
"We... totally agree. How about you run away and we will insert our arrows into this girl's quiver?" All six laughed at a dirty joke of their bold friend. All of them summoned their weapons. Two swords, one bow, one spear, one ax, and one war hammer.
"Draw your weapon dogface, we want our blood to boil before we relax with your gir--" A fist landed on his mouth. Safo threw a chain of jabs and the guy was dead.
The gang didn't expect that things would turn dire for their leader so fast. At first, all of them were frozen in a place, usually, they were told orders. After a second they snapped almost simultaneously.

"Kiill hiiiim!!" Shouting all of them lashed out at Safo Nur at once. Luna was ready and started her assault from behind Safo.
The guy with the bow received an ice arrow to his face, losing his sight. He had a long-range weapon, thus Luna tried to take him out first. Safo told her that she could kill only one player and so she did. Ice element arrows with x17 damage did their job well.
The grin on Safo's face couldn't be removed. He looked like a psycho who loved fighting. In a narrow place, he managed to dodge many fierce attacks, making his enemies wish for his death even more.
While some of the hits eventually hit the target, Safo was too fast and experienced for regular hooligans. Several more fist punches and the guy with the spear also died, making Safo's name appear in red color. The sword badge of a "murderer" was next to the nickname.
An ax swung vertically right to his head and was deflected by a block that Safo made in time. To his and his enemies' surprise, as well as people in the cafe, the ax broke and disappeared. Safo's passive Weapon skill Rusting worked.
'I guess my luck was accumulating itself to create this opportunity for me.' Feeling lucky, Safo summoned his favorite shield, and it materialized.
[ Defense: 3 + 6.5(God's gloves) + 3(Spiky Shield) ]
Most of the Tier 3 weapons had about 40 damage. Safo could deduct 12.5 points from it due to his high defense. Still, it was deadly. Only two good attacks could kill him.
Small scratches here and there was nothing, 1-5 damage. In most of the assaults, Safo dodged or fended off with his Spiky shield while using any opening to send his fist. Luna was a great aid in blocking the view of the opponents with her frozen attacks.
In no time Safo finished off each of the hooligans and stood in the middle of the cafe with his red name. Luna had killed only one player.
Respawned players went to find a guard. They wanted to punish the skillful player that they could deal with.
Guards loaded with heavy armor ran towards Safo Nur who knew his predicament.
"I yield." Safo raised his hands waiting to be teleported to the jail.
The guard touched him, then turned around and left.
[ Pro-player activated: Clearing the name. ]
Safo's name disappeared to other users meaning that he wasn't considered a criminal.
"What the hell is that? Is that a skill?"
"I never heard such a thing exist in this game."
I saw how he killed those games. Why is his name not red?"
"Did he just bribed the guard?"
“Is he a cheater?”
Adventurers started whispering among themselves. The gang that already were respawned didn't know what to think. Their characters had been killed and the murderer didn't even receive his punishment.
"What the fuc*?"
[ Pro-player deactivated: perks are exhausted. ]
For a moment Safo was so happy about his Pro-player status. He, probably, was the first one who escaped the punishment for the massacre. But very soon his mood was ruined, Pro-player status deactivated itself.
'Damn, so it had one resurrection and one name cleaner?! I can't believe I lost my double EXP. All because of those guys. Now I have to wait for the next Cube. So sad.' Safo pondered for a moment and left the place with Luna by his side. She didn't care what had happened, she was glad that Safo wasn't in jail.
Walking near the player that he just killed, Safo quietly told them: "I'm a VIP player in this game. If I see you again, I will delete your characters."
He left the gang in fear and awe.
Crack.
Cracking sounds came from Luna's hand, the egg opened to give life to a tiny pink eagle - Pinky.
A bright light enveloped an egg, another second the egg transformed into the small eagle baby. It already had talons and a strong beak but as big as two fists.
It flew away, made several rounds around its owner, and came back to sit on her head. A small bird sat on a big bird, rather a comical sight.
"I was afraid that you would choose something too cute to be a strong pet, Luna." A voice came from the dark alleys between the houses. A person emerged from the shadow. Miloud was an assassin.
