Chapter 83: Magma Golem
Miloud stepped forward to the edge of the mouth of the volcano. One more step and he was already a couple of meters down, moving rapidly towards the magma at the bottom. Luna made a step and stretched out her hands in an attempt to stop the ruthless boy but was too hesitant and too late.
She moved a bit further to have a clear view but still closed her eyes and turned away when Miloud broke the surface tension of the red-orange magma.
Splash and nothing. Miloud died in an instant.
The duo on the top was focused on the level of the magma. After a second or two it grew. it wasn't much but progressed, the mechanism had moved. They had found the solution.
Safo and Luna were jumping and dancing, celebrating Miloud's death.
"Our turn." Safo had a bit more confidence after being sure that his sacrifice was not for nothing. Luna never feared death; she was almost dead for the past six years.
Moments of uncontrollable, all-consuming fear and Safo appeared on the plaza of the village. Miloud was waiting for them.
"I assume it worked?" Miloud asked, unable to hide his smile. He got confirmation which was good news but Safo told that it would take about thirty to forty jumps before magma would rise to the mouth of the volcano.
"I have an idea, follow me."
At the shop with teleporter scrolls, Miloud showed a scroll and a stone. The stone had runic writings that glowed in a pale cyan color. Miloud bought fifty empty teleport scrolls as an addition to the stone.
He linked the blank scrolls with the stone and called for Safo and Luna.
"Luna, you take this stone. It is a destination stone. I and Safo will each take twenty-five teleport scrolls each. Scrolls and the stone are linked allowing us to teleport to you any time anywhere." Miloud explained his plan to the surprised audience.
Miloud wanted to speed up the process. He wanted to teleport to Luna's location, which would be on top of the Runiou Volcano, to jump again. The whole event could take minutes against hours of climbing over and over again.
Safo and Luna approved the genius plan and went climbing the volcano once more.

Safo came later again when Miloud was already at his fourth jump. The magma level noticeably moved upward.
The first jump, respawn on the plaza, quick teleportation to Luna. The second jump, respawn on the plaza, quick teleportation to Luna. The third jump, respawn on the plaza, quick teleportation to Luna. And so on.
On the thirty-eighth death, the magma equaled the mouth.
When the trio gathered on the top, the surface of the magma started to move chaotically. Slowly at first, but fast with each second. Soon it resembled a hurricane.
The lava spiraled making an already impossible to bear air even hotter. The damage dealt by the temperature itself was rising, it was 2-5 per second.
"If we stay, we die." Safo had to yell, the wind from the glowing red typhoon whistled deafeningly.
Miloud motioned to Luna to hit the hot cyclone with her bow. Luna understood the idea.
She swiftly drew the bowstring with an ice arrow loaded on it. A second to aim properly and the string was released. It pushed the arrow out of the bow with incredible speed. An arrow flew confident, crackling sounds of ice battling with the fire that filled the place. Unfortunately, it was blown away by the sheer power of the wind coming from the hell's hurricane.
Luna drew the next arrow but was stopped by Miloud. "Hold the fire, something is forming inside of it. Use your potions to stay alive until that."
Safo had several bottles of health potions for emergency cases. They saved his life for the next ten minutes of constant disturbance from the magma typhoon. But the waiting came to an end, a monster emerged from the swirl.
Short but wide Lava Golem stepped out from the hurricane which subsided and disappeared not long after. The monster was the same size as an average adventurer, and actually, it was wider than taller. Glowing red lava with some black, colder, spots was his body. And the most terrifying thing about the Golem was its HP - 1800.
"Damn, this thing is a tank. We need to tire him up." Safo didn't panic as he used to in the past. He was sure that if he was alone, he couldn't stand a chance against the colossal enemy like that. But he wasn't by himself anymore, he had companions to help him. He acknowledged their talent in the came and was determined to show his skills in a battle.

"Luna, take your position, wait for us to start the fight, don't draw his attention. Safo, with my agility points I will be able to circle him without any problem, you must do the last blow so don't die." The trio had enough time to prepare themselves for the upcoming battle; the monster wasn't the fastest one.
The Magma Golem slowly moved towards the edge of the volcano ring. It was about 6-7 meters wide while the creature was 3 meters wide.
As soon as it landed from the surface of the magma and stepped to the solid rock formation, Miloud rushed to it. In a flash, he sprung by the monster and made multiple piercing attacks with his yellow-black weapon.
'When? Is this the gap between us caused by his Stats? Extra 5 agility that he obtained with his profession made him so fast that I couldn't even see him moving. He simply teleported.' Safo and Luna were frozen, dazzled by the speed of Miloud's character.
His damage wasn't as much as Safo's. Miloud's needle had x8 damage, it multiplied Miloud's Strength points by 8. He was level 12, after killing many players and NPC on his Profession quest. Miloud's current total Strength points were 4.2. 4.2*8=33.6
After ten strikes in a second, he dealt 336 damage to a golem.

Before the big guy began moving Miloud was about to retreat when he caught on fire and died. Just standing near the creature, made out of pure magma, was bad for Health points.
The team was suspecting something like that, due to it, the remaining two members stood unfazed by the fact that their friend died in one second. They knew that Miloud had teleport scrolls and soon will be with them.
‘So the damage near golem is more than 70 per second. And the Defense of the golem should be equal to 15 points. It will be a tough fight.’ Safo summoned his Spiky Shield in two attempts. Luna held her ice arrow ready to strike. She waited for Safo's signal.
Safo ran towards the golem as soon as he saw that Miloud was teleporting to Luna. He wanted to check how long he would last with his 12.5 Defense points.
Safo dashed with his shield before him ready to slam it upon the golem. The spikes on the shield pierced through the magma and the shield banged the golem. Safo's face pales when the golem's HP doesn't even decrease for 1 point. His next move was to throw a punch to the wide-body but the time that he had was up - he died.
"Luna, we can only hope for your arrows. Long-range is the best way to destroy the monster. We will try to keep it distracted while you deal with it." Miloud was sure that non of his or Safo's attempts would be a threat to the golem.
And the dance of the golem chasing Luna while killing off Miloud and Safo on the way started.
Runiou Volcano's mouth was five hundred kilometers in diameter, enough space for Luna to keep a safe, relevantly cold distance from the Magma Golem.
Each of her arrows had 56.4 real damage after the defense. And unfortunately, only water and ice arrows worked on the magma golem. It was a good decision to pack up that type of arrow before even starting the trip to the volcano.
It took Luna about 28 shots, including some critical damage, to bring the monster to the near-death condition. Safo and Miloud died 3-4 times each by that time.
The whole process took half an hour, constant position shifting slowed down Luna's performance.

"Luna, you are the best. Now, let me finish it." Safo rushed to face the red enemy. He didn't need the shield anymore, it didn't work anyway. He just needed to land one last punch.
[ You have killed a level 12 Mad Root. You gained 1000 Exp. ]
[ You obtained a Magma Key. ]
[ Secret Quest of the Creator updated: Open the door. ]
"What did you get? I received EXP for being in the team, a nice bonus." Miloud couldn't hold his curiosity. Luna also ran back to see the second hidden item.
"Nothing, it is not over yet..."
