Chapter 92: Group fight
-30 Seconds earlier.
Safo Nur was on the ground, his suit cracked open, the air inside of it was spreading out.
'I couldn't save the Earth, nor I kept my promise to Luna. I couldn't do anything against the beast like that. I guess it is only fair that I'm going to die. Weak always does. Huh?'
The sound of oozing air changed in tone a little bit but Safo didn't pay attention to it. He stopped his dying thought when he heard the cracking sound of his suit again. Sometime after his vision came to him.
The first thing he saw was White-Black on top of him. Waves of vibration dug him out of the soil. Blood from his stomach returned in and the black beast with white pigmentation took out its jaws from Safo's stomach.
The strangest thing was the fact that his stomach healed itself and the wound closed. Right after that Safo was pulled from the floor, levitation he had been hooked back to the sharp mineral formation. The beast moved away from Safo.
Shocked, Safo could choose his movements, he was paralyzed yet his body moved by itself.
Safo Nur's body escaped from the stalagmite and flew towards the open jaws of the White_black that waited for him. After that, the beast put him down near his left hand that started to grow back to the main body.
Fiber by fiber each muscle and the skin connected back, straight after the beast began to retreat to its original place upon eggs.
By that time Safo's mind was blank and open for anything. When the dead body of the male White-Black moved from the wall and Safo was free again, the four-armed people stood up from the ground. Even the dead ones came to life.
"Absorb this, motherfuc*er!" Words came out from his mouth without his control over his body. And the magical effect stopped there.
The record started again. The White-Black stood up all angry and used a mighty vibration to toss the dead body and capture Safo Nur. The four-armed grey folk was thrown away by the vibration power once more.
The female White-Black was on top of Safo reaching out with its jaws to rip off his arm again.
'Did I die and go to hell? Will this be my eternal torture?'
But the scenario had been interrupted, O'rmon cut the beast with her Disc-Swords. Safo didn't believe his eyes; O'rmon came to save him.

'Did it work? Was it O'mon who saved me from death? The Stone of the Kings didn't lie. She evolved her resource. It is true!'
Safo's glee came to an end when everybody in the cave realized that Dis-Swords was not working anymore. All of the charges were absorbed by White-Black's skin. O'rmon stood with two regular swords when the beast lashed at her.
Safo tried to pull his arm and remembered that he was stuck. But the situation had changed, he wasn't alone. O'rmon was running all over the place, stalling the enemy.
Safo turned the Torch off and it returned to the armor mode thereby releasing his arm. Safo wanted to use his Fear skill but was drained of soul energy.
-Present time.
"I have only one way here. I will be a psiora as I'm supposed to be."
It had been a long time since Safo awakened his soul, but he couldn't perform like the rest of the psiora. While ordinary psiora could use their resources any time they want, Safo had to meditate for 5 minutes to enter his Soul room and drink a bucket of water.
Safo spent many hours trying to summon his resources without entering the Soul room. And a week ago after the match with Kutch, Yon, and Dost Safo managed to reach the level of psiora.
He recalled the thoughts, emotions, and feelings that helped him to summon his power, and once more it worked. Energized by a new flood of resources Safo dashed after the dino monster that was busy chasing after O'rmon.
"We are on the way. Don't you dare to die, Safo" Kutch gave instructions to Safo over the communication device.
"Hurry up or we will kill it," Safo responded with a smile.
With a motion of his left hand, he stopped the beast.
"I have only one minute. Go, O'rmon." It was his limit. The Soul Gauging device showed the truce. In case of using his powers like average psiora, Safo could utilize his soul energy only for a minute.
O'rmon didn't spend her time. She swooshed at the beast with her swords and delivered hundreds of slashing and stabbing attacks. Unfortunately, the regular swords couldn't even scratch the surface of the skin of White-Black.
O'rmon didn't give up, like a butterfly she fluttered around the massive monster but without any satisfactory result.

"What is going on here? How the hell did those guys manage to hurt the other one?" He just had to speak the words out, he remembered their strange green barbaric weapons.
"O'rmon go grab the weapons in the eye of the dead White-Black. It works on them."
"Got it." O'rmon ran to the body and took out soaking wet weapons. Disgusted, she decided to take two short swords.
She was about to run back when a wave of vibration threw sharp mineral shards at her injuring her legs.
Safo's resources that had been summoned naturally were not as powerful as those when he consumed them out of the well.
His Fear skill couldn't hold the mind of an enraged mother. She was not that weak, slowly she took control over her emotions and started to move towards Safo.
"Ok, how about this?" Safo switched his tactic. He looked at O'rmon and saw that she couldn't run.
Safo sent mini pillars from both hands to the beast, every bit of fire was absorbed by the colossal monster but it stood motionless.
'At least I will win some time.'
"O'mon, it is okay, move to the exit. I will hold as much as I can."
Safo sent small portions of the fire to save his energy.
"I can continue!" O'rmon was determined to fight by Safo's side. Not due to her gratitude only, she admired the fact that Safo killed the White-Black.
"Alright, keep your distance even if it means that you will do minor damage."
O'rmon understood that but still nodded. And the fight two versus one began. O'rmon made the small cuts all over the beast while Safo time to time sent his fire to make the monster stop. White-Black got annoyed by that successful combination real fast.
Kutch and Dost pushed the limits of their jetpacks to the maximum. They arrived when the beast sent both O'rmon and Safo to the rocks.
Kutch took all weapons inside the eye of a dead monster and threw them mixed with his own throwing knives.
Dost put a shield right before Safo and O'rmon's landing.
"Thank you gu...What the fuc* happened to Dost? Where is your arm?" Safo fumed.
"I'm fine. We have an enemy to defeat before talking." Dost was calm and straightforward as usual.
All of them went to attack at once. Dost had the distracting role while O'rmon little by little tired off the beast. Safo used his weak Fear skill to stun the monster at least for a second.
After a minute of the fight, White-Black got tired and one more time used its vibration possibilities. Kutch's weapons were scattered in different directions in the cave. O'rmon was saved by Dost just before receiving deadly damage by the talons of the beast. Dost's body was getting worse and worse. He already lost some parts of the metal body.
Safo was inside the shield when he realized that even micro usage of his resources came to an end.
He saw his team struggling in front of him. The female dino went after Kutch and caught him in his jaws while Dost was protecting Safo Nur.
Kutch was sent flying and hit the rock badly. With a bleeding face, Kutch smiled at Safo. "I'm okay."
"Guys, we can't run away from it. We can't kill it. One thing left, O'rmon, take the eggs and run."
"No, I won't leave all of you here."
"No, no. It is a great idea, sis. It will follow you, so we can flee too." Kutch grasped the idea behind the plan. O'rmon swiftly nodded. She waited until the vibrations stopped and ran towards the eggs.
"The female White-Black wasn't letting that happen. It directed the vibration to O'rmon, crashing her upon the wall of the cave.
"Safo, I assume that your Fear can stop it from moving right?" Dost asked Safo while sending the shield to cover O'rmon. the winged beast was over her.
"Yes, but I need five minutes of meditation."
"We will give it to you, please hurry."
Before closing his eyes, Safo saw that a piece of rock struck the monster's head. The four-armed people that were hiding on the other side of the massive cave, came out to join the fight. By the looks of theirs, they were not warriors, but almost all of their warriors were dead.
Kutch sent another portion of knives, only small ineffective, against a huge monster, ones left. Dost was falling apart.
"I will be back soon."

Blightbane
Miscellaneous Notes: - I want to see about making a crude map of Shroud to help readers. - I also want to get back to writing Coalescence updates. Schedule Notes: - None for now, updates when I can. [ Thank you for your patience and support as I improve my writing and storytelling abilities. I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground. A young man named Caim has been uprooted from his former life and transported to The Shrouded Theocracy, an isolationist nation with fanatical policies. He must struggle to survive with only an unfamiliar strain of magic to aid him. There is a secret to this magic. One he knows very little about. He intends to explore just what makes this magic special. On the far border of the theocracy, a mage scientist named Inis discovers a revolutionary new way to infuse strength from defeated blightbeasts. Using herself as a test subject, this process allows her to grasp magical concepts previously thought beyond her reach. Though she tries to document any side effects that arise, something escapes her awareness. She is playing with a dangerous force that will claim her most treasured asset if she isn't careful. Everyone and everything on the planet is a part of the experiment. The experiment is a lie.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.
