《Mother's Basement Studios》Major Interviews: Barracupid

Major_Rebecca: Hello, everyone! This is Major_Rebecca with Mother’s Basement Studios doing our very first interview! Today, we’re with a gamer who goes by the handle ‘BarraCupid’. He regularly plays and enjoys the new MMO Raid & Conquer but, recently, he says something made him rage quit so hard he nearly broke his keyboard. BarraCupid, can you tell us what happened?
BarraCupid: You’re a girl?
Major_Rebecca: I...yes, but that’s not important right now-
BarraCupid: I thought girls only played, like, horse games or something.
Major_Rebecca: Kid-
BarraCupid: Can you show me your tits?
Major_Rebecca: Cut the camera right now, Jacobi.
...
Major_Rebecca: Sorry about that folks! We had a bit of technical difficulty. Now, where were we? Ah, BarraCupid, you were going to tell us about this disturbing event that happened to you in-game?
BarraCupid: Uh-uh, yeah, um…
Major_Rebecca: Well, go on. Say it.
BarraCupid: Right, right. Um, so, I was headed back from gathering a bunch of stuff from this forest-
Major_Rebecca: What was its name?
BarraCupid: Huh?
Major_Rebecca: The name of the forest?
BarraCupid: Oh! Uh, I dunno? It was just a bunch of trees that surrounded Elden Castle; I didn’t pay attention to the name of it
Major_Rebecca: I see. And why did you have to collect stuff from the forest?
BarraCupid: Some stupid fetch quest for this NPC that wouldn’t teach me a skill unless I brought it back some random ass-
Major_Rebecca: Language, please.
BarraCupid: Oh, uh, sorry. Some random butt materials.
Major_Rebecca: What happened after you collected them?
BarraCupid: Well, I was heading back to Elden Town when I was jumped by some freak in a tusked pig mask. It was just some stupid level 13 [Mage] but I took him on easy.
Major_Rebecca: And what level and class are you?
BarraCupid: Level 6 [Archer].
Major_Rebecca: That’s a seven level difference!

Barracupid: Yeah, well, I got some good gear early on so his spells didn’t really hurt me. But that was when he used Teleport Object on me.
Major_Rebecca: That’s a level 30 [Mage] spell, correct?
BarraCupid: Yeah. It shouldn’t have even been able to affect me but I guess whatever hack he used messed up the spell. My character still hasn’t recovered!
Major_Rebecca: Do you remember what was stolen?
BarraCupid: Uh, some Nutter Squirrels, most of my pieces, and a skill book I needed for the NPC trainer. It took me three hours just to find it!
Major_Rebecca: That’s a real shame, BarraCupid. But I’m afraid that’s all the time we have for today.
BarraCupid: But I have so much more to-
Major_Rebecca: If you’re new to the gaming world and have no idea what any of what we just said, check out our channel’s very own ‘Gamer’s Guide’! This was Major Interviews! Major_Rebecca, signing off!

The characters have depth, the fights are wonderfully descriptive, and I genuinely wanted to read more about the world of Arnacript when the novel was done.” - Ramon Mejia, author of Adventures on Terra, and host of the Geek Bytes Podcast "Fun story that keeps you invested. I recommend it! Welcome to LitRPG Michael-Scott. Glad you joined the fam!" - Aleron Kong, author of the Chaos Seeds series and The Father of American LitRPG “Lion's Quest is the type of book I'm always on the lookout for and rarely ever find. It's the beginning of a series I know I'm going to enjoy, with great writing and hints of deep in-game lore. The characters are fun, the plot is engaging, and I never know what is going to happen next. The action is fast, brutal and realistic. This is one of my favorite LitRPG stories in the entire genre.” - Blaise Corvin, author of Delvers LLC: Welcome to Ludus and Secret of the Old Ones “A great first foray into LitRPG. A novel take on the usual formula and I'm interested to see what happens next!” -Travis Bagwell, author of Awaken Online: Catharsis “Right from the very first page, Lion’s Quest had me hooked! Filled with surprising twists, intrigue and good old-fashioned humor this amazingly deep book had me craving more and more! Without a doubt one of the best LitRPG novels I have read! I can’t wait for book 2!” - Luke Chmilenko, author of Ascend Online “Lion's Quest blends action, intrigue, and humor together for a wild ride. Black Sheep [dropped]
It was bad enough living in a cold mechanical world. It was even worse when he was exiled. Follow the man, marked for his crimes, and damned to eternal torment as he tries to find a place where he can belong. * This is my first work. I've read stories on here for years and was finally inspired to contribute some content. * Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. I think I have a neat idea and could use your help to turn it into a fun read. * The RPG starts on chapter 8 so feel free to skip ahead if that's what you're here for.

Dawn of the Gods
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Dean was a newb to dive gear, but it didn't matter. He was playing in a party with his three best friends, all experienced players in dive games, and he'd figure it out as they went along. Eventually, he'd get good enough that they could beat the game. He just didn't expect the only way out was to beat the game. Or a rogue update that disabled the pain suppression settings, make it harder to level up, and reset his character stats every time he respawned. With an unstoppable Orc invasion led by a Shadow Wraith bearing down on their spawn point, they're only hope of survival is founding a new city, building a new spawn point, and defending it from the Orcs. All as a level one character. **************************************************************************************** As a note, I'm starting to edit earlier chapters, so some chapters will have a [Revised] tag attached, indicating that they're an edited version.
