《Mother's Basement Studios》Major Interviews: OneSteelCalf

Major_Rebecca: Welcome back to another interview, soldiers! Today, our interviewee is OneSteelCalf. This lady gamer here has some interesting things to report about the CSP faction! Calf, can you tell us what happened?
OneSteelCalf: Sure. I created a new character after reading up on the CSP faction. I thought it was really cool - besides the whole, you know, xenophobia thing.
Major_Rebecca: Right, right.
OneSteelCalf: So, um, they’re normally dark-skinned people from living in hot regions and stuff. So I turned Sheba - that’s the name of my character - a kind of lime green skin tone with burnt sienna hair. I gave her a little ‘fro because why not?
Major_Rebecca: Haha! So, what happened when you spawned in the starter town?
OneSteelCalf: Well, I spawned in Jaharton which, in hindsight, is never a good place to start even if you look like a normal CSP Human.
Major_Rebecca: How come?
OneSteelCalf: There’s [Paladins] everywhere. One thing I learned about the CSP is that they’re really big on the Conquest celestial. While they worship all three, it’s clear that Conquest is the favored god of the trinity, especially in Jaharton. They’re ruled by an oligarchy of powerful [Warlords] that put physical and spiritual strength before everything. Sheba was just a defenseless [Alchemist] in a town full of cutthroat zealots.
Major_Rebecca: That sounds awful!
OneSteelCalf: The struggle was real.
Major_Rebecca: How long did it take for the...hostilities to start?
OneSteelCalf: About five minutes.
Major_Rebecca: That fast?
OneSteelCalf: Sheba’s a lime green-skinned character, after all.
Major_Rebecca: I didn’t think skin color would matter in a world of various fantasy species. I guess some hate never dies…
OneSteelCalf: You got that right.
Major_Rebecca: What was your experience?
OneSteelCalf: I was trying to complete my first starter quest - buying ingredients from an NPC shop. I had to make a Lesser Health Potion. I was headed to the shop, just minding my own business, when an NPC child chucked a Sour Berry at the back of Sheba’s head. I took 5 damage alone from that since I hardly put any points into Body. I got some dirty looks all the way to the shop and when I finally got there, the shopkeeper took one look at me and told me to get lost. I left the shop and was immediately attacked by a mob of low-leveled [Paladin] NPCs. It took me about a minute to die. The sounds Sheba made as she was being hacked apart...

Major_Rebecca: That’s...awful.
OneSteelCalf: Yeah...I’ve been taking a break from R&C ever since then. Just trying to, uh, let all that negativity pass.
Major_Rebecca: I see. Will you ever try playing as Sheba again?
OneSteelCalf: Probably not. I’ve had enough of the CSP faction for now.
Major_Rebecca: Well, I hope you have better luck next time with a new character.
OneSteelCalf: Me too.
Major_Rebecca: Um, that’s all we have time for today. Thanks for coming on, Calf.
OneSteelCalf: No problem.
Major_Rebecca: This is Major, signing off!
...
OneSteelCalf: Is that, like, a catchphrase you guys have?
Major_Rebecca: Yeah. Why?
OneSteelCalf: It’s kinda cringe, not gonna lie.
Major_Rebecca: Yes, well, I’m trying my hardest to-Jacobi, why is the camera still rolling?

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Tyrial would need all the help he could get learning to work with others, dealing with his own dark past, and handling unfamiliar feelings of romantic interest. Content Warning Note: They are there to cover my behind. I honestly hesitated to put them there at all but I figured better safe than sorry. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. POSTED: Currently, this story is being posted to RoyalRoad and ScribbleHub. If you see this story posted anywhere else, please report it to the user "Tyrial" on either of the aforementioned sites. Thanks!

The Crimson Castle
This is a LitRPG that follows Claire Woodward, A somewhat nerdy high school senior, who finds herself trapped in a video game, The Crimson Castle, she had just booted up for the first time. The Low Magic Fantasy World of The Crimson Castle is unlike any other. The world consists of only two things, the walled city of Dal and the wilderness that surrounds it. Each night, the wilderness outside of the city disappears and for five minutes the world trembles. Once the five minutes are up, the wilderness reappears, but it is always different from any previous' day wilderness. This means each day the city of Dal is surrounded by something new and exciting. Sometimes, the city of Dal finds itself on top of a snowy mountain, the next day in a foggy swamp, the next day after that on a tropical island, and so on. Inhabitants of Dal that go out into the wilderness are called adventurers. The further adventurers get from city of Dal, the rarer the loot they will find, but also the more treacherous their travels will become. Do not worry though, it is impossible to die in the wilderness. If your health reaches zero you will transported back to the city of Dal alive and well. Will Claire be able to figure out why she was transported into this world, and better yet, will she be able to escape it?
