《Point Cultivation》Chapter 5: Secret Technique

On the day after the tournament Joe Mo was lead through the deep underground tunnels that held the secret treasures of the Mo clan by his father and grandfather, Grow Mo and Gramps Mo. That's right, Joe Mo was going to obtain a secret technique from the Mo clan! This was a very big deal because the Mo clan had once been a very powerful clan in ancient times but they have been on the decline for a very long time.
However, this meant that the Mo clan still had some of best ancient techniques that existed! This included the light attacks that his father Grow Mo had used to protect him at the end of the tournament!
This made Joe Mo very excited because he wanted to cultivate secret techniques his entire life and now he would be able too. Secret techniques could do anything, for example they could create walls or allow you to make objects float under your control! However, there where many people who thought that secret techniques were useless as they did not increase your points. A person with many powerful techniques would not be able to beat someone with a single more point than them!
However, everyone still enjoyed secret techniques because they are cool.
Just as Joe Mo finished thinking about those things he was lead into a big room with 174 secretive doorways.
That was when Gramps Mo said “This is our secret technique holding vault, as you can see there are 174 doors each holding a secret technique for a total of 174 secret techniques. However, most of the techniques require at least some level of latent talent so you may not be able to use most of them. However, there is definitely one that you will be able to chose.”

And with that Joe Mo stood in the center of the room and waited to see which of the techniques he would be able to cultivate.
Grow Mo and Gramps Mo looked normal but on the inside they were actually very worried as Joe Mo might not have any talent and be unable to cultivate the best techniques. However, just as they were getting worried 40 of the tunnels lit up! And the number was quickly rising 60...80 and soon 100 tunnels lit up.
Grow Mo said “wow 100 tunnels that is very good”
120...140...160 this was most of the tunnels now only the most difficult techniques were closed to Joe Mo.
When suddenly the number went up to 170. Gramps Mo was shocked “results like this have not been recorded in the last 200 years! The only techniques left are the 4 legendary techniques that have not been used since ancient times!”
When suddenly the 4 legendary techniques lit up one by one until all 174 were lit, as it turns out Joe Mo could pick any technique he wanted!
Gramps Mo and Grow Mo were shocked, “Being able to use any of the 174 techniques is crazy it has not happened in the entire history of the Mo clan!”
Joe Mo went to inspect the four legendary techniques to see what they did, the first technique was the Ice Blade Frozen Waste Technique. This technique allowed the user to freeze the area around him and make blades of ice out of any water around him!
The next was Mega Volcano Blast after a large charge up period the user could create a erupting volcano to destroy the surrounding land.
Third was the Ultimate Tree Technique, it allowed the user to turn into a tree and control their branches it could also turn sunlight into points! This seemed very powerful but having to turn into a tree all the time did not seem that great.

The last was the Fast Fleeting Footwork Technique, it was a technique that increased your speed and agility to ultimate levels! And at the last stage of the technique it could cause a short teleportation!
In the end Joe Mo could only pick one technique so he had to choose the right one, so he thought about it for a while. Then Joe Mo decided to take the Fast Fleeting Footwork Technique because being fast could save him if he was in a dangerous situation!
“Nice, that’s a good one” said Grow Mo and then they went back home.
Now that Joe Mo had a copy of the Fast Fleeting Footwork Technique he could read more about it, as it turns out there are 7 levels of the technique to cultivate the first, third, and fifth levels of the technique greatly enhanced the users speed. While the second, forth, and sixth levels of the technique enhanced agility so that you could dodge punches, swords, and finally projectiles. The last level could be used to teleport a meter away from your current position to evade an attack!
That last level was why Joe Mo chose this ability he would be able to evade anything with an ability like that!
After all the excitement from the last few days was over Joe Mo was finally able to return to his normal life of cultivation. Only now everyone in his clan respected him and no one would dare look down on him again!
With the help of Logan’s potions Joe Mo began to once again cultivate points and he also started to cultivate the Fast Fleeting Footwork Technique. And just like that time slipped by just like the wind. That’s right a lot of time pasted without anything really interesting happening. Except for the time when Joe Mo fought a magic bear that was interesting but not very important. But anyway 6 months past, that’s right half a year had passed since the Mo clan coming of age ceremony!
Joe Mo thought it was going to be like any other day, he had woken up,eaten breakfast and he had a chat with Mia Mo about cultivation when suddenly a loud knocking sound started to come from the front gates of the Mo clan.
“That must be the cultivation materials that are for the clan” said Mia Mo
But just when everyone thought everything had gone back to normal. The front gate to the Mo clan was blasted off its hinges sending the gate flying into the courtyard! The blast was so large that a crater was left where the gate once stood! All that was left was a large amount of smoke. And though that smoke a cackling laughter could be heard from over 100 attackers!
When a booming voice announced “Today is the end of the Mo clan! From this point forward everyone from the Mo clan is as good as dead!”

Killstealer
Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me.
