《A villainess Reborn》Wait… what?

She sped through the forest, the sounds of the Wyverns fury sounding behind her. Since the sound was getting further and further behind her she wasn’t worried at all. Still she didn’t want to take any chances so she didn’t head in the direction of the cave. She didn’t want to lead trouble back to her cute little steam bun.
Instead she headed in the opposite direction. She’d sent her senses out as far as she could as she was now headed into a part of the forest the pervious owner hadn’t gone in before. She wasn’t sure what kind of animals were in there so while she was moving swiftly she was also moving carefully.
The further she went in the more untamed the area seemed to be. It looked as though fewer and fewer humans had placed their foot print here. The more it seemed that way the more she became alert. These places were already very dangerous but when you were in areas were dangerous animals had little to no fear of humans that sense of danger simply multiplied.
Bai Mei Li and her father bonded over camping and hunting. When she was at Quantico, Virginia in the the United States she and the profiling team she was temporarily assigned too tended to fine themselves in family wooded areas often, so she was privy to training in the outdoor from the United States government as well. So she hand quite a bit of knowledge when it came to wild animals. And while this wasn’t earth she felt that at least the basics should be able to apply anywhere.
She’d also received extensive hand to hand combat as well as training in firearms as a previsionary agent. She’d been there for three years, but the training there was meant for fighting normal earthly human adversaries or animals. She had no training to deal with practitioners like those that existed here. She was completely unprepared, so she was just doing what she could here and learning as she went.
She was grateful for the the memories because at least she had a very good head start here. She had no idea what she would of done if she hadn’t of inherited them. The thought of being here with only the combat skills she’d had in her other life was actually enough to make her shiver.
After traveling for quite a few miles she finally stopped. She found a isolated area and settled down. She wanted to be as careful as possible. She couldn’t allow her actions to effect Xiao Jun negatively. She had to protect herself and she also had to make sure trouble didn’t follow her home.
She was doing her best to think ahead and try to prevent trouble because she was very worried about finding trouble before she felt she was powerful enough to deal with troublemakers. Frankly speaking she was just too beautiful. Her looks were just basically looking for problems and inviting perverts. The previous owner never travelled alone. She always had secret guards as well as maid servants with her. But they had most likely all died in that last battle.

There was of course the chance that some had survived and she had considered looking for them. But after thinking about it at length she decided not too because if she actually found them they would want to immediately return to the sect. Bai Mei Li didn’t want to return at the moment because she wanted to get stronger. The original owner wasn’t a kind person so she’d inherited more then just memories, she’d also gained quite a few grudges, and love sick idiots in and out of the sect that would love the chance to take hold of any weakness that she might show.
Thinking of this she decided to stay away at least for the time being.
But that also meant that she would be on her own. Learning and training alone, but she was okay with that because as dangerous as that might be she felt it would be even more dangerous to be around other people of this world.
She sat down on a dry peace of ground in the lotus position and started cultivating. This was getting easier and easier. She could feel the Qi flowing far more freely in her body. It was also reacting to her demands far quicker as well. Cultivating was truly starting to free like a natural thing for her.
She was able to enter into a cultivating state very fast now. Her mind would clear almost immediately.
With her breathing well controlled she absorbed the natural Qi of the world. It replenished what she’d used and strengthened her body.
Now that Xiao Jun wasn’t here she didn’t have to be so careful with her cultivation. When the previous owner cultivated she typically did not do so around other people. The reason why was because her cultivation method Breath of the Ice God which was a silver level cultivation method was ver dangerous to other people. In the lower bound it was considered an extremely high level and powerful method and it was perfect for her ice attributed body.
When she cultivated it seriously it tended to effect the area around her. It would bring the temperature down to dangerous levels and could harm those around her if their cultivation’s weren’t high enough. Since she usually cultivated in the cave to be safe she didn’t dare use her cultivation method to it’s fullest.
But now she was away from Xiao Jun and in a isolated area it would be safe to use it now.
With her eyes closed and having formed the seals needed to activate the cultivation method she slowly turned her hands which in a cupping position over her right finger face left and her left fingers faced right. In the middle a a ball of what appeared to be ice Qi formed… further dropping the temperature.

Her brows furrowed slightly as the gathering ice Qi permeated all the way to her bones. It wasn’t the cold that bothered her, but it was extremely uncomfortable the way the Qi forced her bones to expand slightly as it cycled through her body again and again.
Despite the discomfort she remained still and continued. After the passage of a bit of time her eyes eased and you could no longer see any expression on her face. She appeared serene. This wasn’t because the pain had gone away, instead it was because she’d successfully adjusted her state of mind.
Since she’d first arrived her she’d been injured quite a few number of times. As a matter of fact she’d arrived in the world to take over a completely broken body. After that she’d been hurt numerous times.
It wasn’t that she’d stopped feeling pain but that she’d just learned how to deal with it. She’d come to a realization that she no longer had the luxury of indulging in her pain. She couldn’t stop and start crying just because she was injured. Her opponent simply wouldn’t wait. In fact just hesitating because she was hurt could in all likelihood cause her to be injured further or die.
Understanding this caused a shift in her mentality. Even though she couldn’t remembered how she’d died on earth she knew there couldn’t possibly be anything pleasant with dying no matter how non violent it might be. Thinking this way she’d decided that she would everything in her power to adjust as much as possible as fast as possible.
This created a change in her change mind set and her cultivation was truly starting to progress. Although she wasn’t aware of it right now she was finally moving forward toward the peak of the 7th layer of the Qi master realm.
A practitioner had to have a clear mind and heart to move forward. This didn’t mean that they had to be good or moral people. It just meant that they needed to have no regrets that might create shadows in their hearts. It was for this reason that when Bai Mei Li first arrived here and until now she’d had very little progress. The decisions that she’d had to make simply didn’t sit well with her.
She’d come from a world at relative peace. Although there were wars and unrest, in China where she’d been born and in America where she’d received the later end of her education she’d lived in peace.
The suffering that she’d been exposed to was something she herself had sought out. She’d been mentally prepared. That was not say that she hadn’t been deeply effected by the deaths that she’d been exposed to, it was just that it meant that she knew that it was coming so the trauma was easier to deal with.
It was also because of this exposure that she received as a profiler that she didn’t completely breakdown when she’d crossed over. Instead she’d been able to rapidly adapt.
All around her the ground, air, plants, and some animals were freezing. The ice Qi was circulating quickly through her body strengthening not just her bones but also her internal organs and meridians.
The cultivating technique she was using was indeed powerful and quite beneficial to her body. But you can’t gain with losing. While her body was becoming stronger the process was causing her more and more pain.
She gritted her teeth for only a moment before relaxing again. She refused to give in to the pain. She refused to remain the same. Since she was young she’d accomplished all the goals she’d set for herself. This would be no different. If pain must define the type of cultivator she was becoming then it would only show her strength of a mind and nothing more.
She continued cultivating for the next four hours before she finally opened her eyes. She could of gone for longer but she’d made a promise to Xiao Jun. She needed to return home before the sun came up and just to be safe she wanted to return back to the save in a round about way.
She stood up and dusted herself off. Looking around at the area around her that was completely frozen and shocked at the effect the cultivation technique had on the environment. She was again happy that she’d never tried to do this in the cave.
Without further hesitation she shot off heading back to the cave.
As she’d previously decided she had chosen to return in a round about way. She hadn’t gone very far when she sudden stopped. Absolute shock on her face. She simply could believe what she was seeing.
Carved onto a was simply sentence. “This way if you can read this.”
There was a arrow below. What shocked her wasn’t the sentence but the fact that it was written in English.

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
