《EEPOS: from rags to godhood》The man eating Sonam tribe part 3

They trailed the tracks the Sonam tribe had left. The tracks led to the west to the parts of Insbeck that were not yet that badly devastated by the war. There was another village close by so they hurried there before the Sonam tribe would get to them also.
They arrived late at night at the village. It was also quiet with no sound coming from anywhere as the last village. They feared the worse that they were late.
"Everyone, look around? Do not leave one stone unturned" Haley yelled out.
Pema looked around and felt something was wrong. He felt an ominous presence in the village.
An arrow flew straight toward Haley. A Gherseng stopped it by catching it mid-air.
Haley looked up on top of the buildings. Grey skin warriors with bows and arrows popped up and aimed at them. They all had metal masks that had a red handprint painted on them. They also wore black and torn coats typical to the normal grey skin ones.
The Ghersengs surrounded Haley in a way to protect her from any harm. Pema looked up and saw one grey skin coming forward. He was special from the rest of them and had a faul divine aura coming off from him like a stink.
"So the little king sent his little lapdogs after us already. We only devoured one village and the dogs were already let loose," the grey skin warrior said.
He took his mask off and showed his face. The grey skin had short hair with half of his face tattooed. He had light armor and wore a wolf's pelt on his head. A curved sword was on his back with a butcher's knife on his belt.
"Who is this guy?" Haley asked from Pema.
"Oh, no worries. I speak the human language well also. Have to learn it if I want to understand want my dinner is saying to me right. Makes my meal much more fun," The grey skin said and looked at Haley with a creepy smile.

Pema turned his fists into hard hard carbon and braced for a wife.
"I am Skal Medo. I am the leader of the Sonam tribe, and who might you be my little girl?" Skal asked.
"I am Haley Fairfax. Sister of Rufus Fairfax, the Raja of all the grey skins including you."
Skal laughed and translated what Haley said to his warriors. The grey skins of the Sonam tribe started to laugh.
"If he was our Raja he would be here feasting with us also. A true Raja knows the difference between who to eat and who to make friends with," Skal said and took out his weapons.
More Sonam tribal warriors came out hiding. They entered the streets from the empty houses swords and spears in hand. The warriors of Haley and Pema were all surrounded and were being aimed at by arrows as well.
Pema looked around and knew they were in a bad situation. They were outnumbered and in a bad position.
"It's okay. I got this," Haley whispered and assured Pema.
Haley's eyes started to glow blue again. Crystals started to form on the ground under every grey skin aiming an arrow at them on the roof. Haley was concentrating really hard and started to feel exhausted and pain in her muscle.
"Kill them all already," Skal said and commanded the Sonam tribe to attack.
At the same time, the crystals between the bowmen's legs shot up like a bullet killing all of them before they got to release their arrows. Skal was fast enough to dodge it and jumped down to the ground.
The grey skin warriors of Haley and Pema charged at the Sonam warriors. A messy melee ensued.
Two grey skin warriors charged at Skal. He cut them apart fast with his curved sword and butcher's knife. He spotted Haley and was breathing heavily. He realized it was her who killed all his bowmen. He rushed forward to kill Hailey with both weapons in hand.

He moved fast as the wind and almost left no prints on the ground as his steps were light as a feather. It was divine power. He was fast and nimble as a wild animal.
Just when he was about to strike Hailey down Pema came to rescue her. She blunted the attack of Skal with his hand and then tried to punch him but dodged by somersaulting away. He landed gently on the floor and smiled cheekily at Pema.
"Aren't you the famous Pema? The legendary martial artist of the Dechen tribe. Why do you fight so loyally for that human? For the pigskin Raja," Skal asked.
"He is my friend. He protects those closest to me. He makes me better and stronger. That is all the reason I need, but I don't need any reason to bash your skull."
"Hah. We can do that also. We can protect everyone you love. Look around."
Pema looked around and saw the Sonam tribe warriors outclassing his warriors. The Sonam tribesmen were bigger and stronger and one even lifted one of Pema's warriors up in the air.
"Eating humans makes you stronger, faster, even smarter I would say. Join us and you will be like us, be able to protect those you love. Once you have a taste of it you can not stop. It is like a drug," Skal said and reached out his hand.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Haley yelled in grey skin language.
All the grey skin fighting for Pema and Haley turned and looked at her.
"You are not fighting for just my brother, you are fighting for the future of your families, your tribe and your nation. Don't let these doped up balloon animals beat you up!"
Two grey skin warriors of the Sonam tribe went to attack Haley. Pema tried to rush in to save her but knew he was too slow.
Just before the grey skin could harm Haley, their eyesight turned upside down. They saw blood spilling in the air and realized it was their blood. They had been cut in two by just one Gherseng.

Viridescent Core
Some mortals see dungeons as a plague to destroy. Some mortals see dungeons as a resource to manage and harvest. Some mortals see dungeons as a place to train and advance. However, all of them agree on something. Dungeons are unnatural and deadly. Places where death stalks every corner and monsters thrive. What mortals forget, in their hubris of tools and civilizations, is that Mother Nature is often the deadliest of all. Feel free to write any comment, suggestion, or criticism. Today was a great day. I died. It wasn't a great day because I died. No, it was a great day and I died. One has nothing to do with the other. Enough nonsense. Grinding skills, leveling up, collecting coins, going on an adventure, and making progress on my main quest. The dream of every gamer. And no, I'm not mad. Let me give you some context before we continue. I'll keep it short, for we have more urgent matters to discuss. Art by: Roland Deaconu
