CHAPTER 12: BLOODLINE BIRTH
Alric took the body of the dryad from his dimensional ring and dropped it on top of the adlet then threw the claws of the werewolf onto the pill as well.
Afterwards Alric retrieved the scroll from adjutant Han and poured his mana into the magic formation drawn on the scroll.
The moment he did, a bright black flame ignited and lit up the bodies of the adlet, the dryad and the claws.
The claws popped and crackled as the flames swallowed them. The flames danced and grew until it engulfed Alric who was closest to it.
Merrik was about to make the first move when he saw Alric raise a hand to stop him. In an instant, the black flames that before had been so large were sucked into Alric’s wolf tattoo.
A sly grin appeared on his face as he clenched his fist and opened it, when he opened his palm, black claws appeared on the tip of his fingers.
instantly Alric grabbed Han and dug his claws deep into his left arm. As the claws dug deeper black veins developed from the point of entry and grew until they dispersed throughout his body.
Han screamed and kicked as the veins spread.
“Accept the bond”
Alric whispered as he continued to dig deeper.
Freya developed an immoral smile as she watched the adjutant kick and scream, her lips drooled at the site while her eyes were fixated on Alric who was causing the suffering.
The moment Alric removed his claws, a wolf tattoo appeared at the same location he had dug his claws and the wound in an instant began to heal.

It had been two weeks since I was awarded the library pass.
I had spent everyday skimming through books trying to find the most useful ones so that I could get them copied and stored in the training space so that even after I had lost access to the library I could still practice.

At first I wanted books that could make myself strong, but after carefully thinking I started looking for more estranged books. I wanted to find ways I could make the members of Shadow wolf even stronger.
I spent hours after classes searching through book after book. I was the first to the library and last to leave each day.
This continued for weeks until one night at the library I saw the same pink haired student who had also won a library pass sitting calmly reading a book.
Her decorous posture and easy going look captivated my attention. I was then even more intrigued by the book she was reading,
“The origins of Warlock Magic”
That was what was written on the cover. The other students who earned library tickets all spent only a day or two inside the library. They had only come to pick up one of the secret books and went off with it to practice some new powerful technique.
They had to hurry since they only had a month to learn the basics since mastering any powerful technique in a month was impossible.
“That’s an interesting book you have there, um, i’m Alard”
I stretched out my hand to greet her, she seemed annoyed by my intrusion into her little moment of quiet.
“You don’t need to tell me your name, every first year here knows who you are, Mister I’m the best sleeper.”
even while teasing me she did not look away from the book,
“ I never said I was.
Anyways, shouldn't you be out mastering some new all powerful technique like the rest of ticket winners?”
I asked, trying to take the topic away from my embarrassing school reputation.
“I already did.” She responded rather matter of factly, still not looking away from the book.

“What, are you serious?!”
I responded shocked and in disbelief.
“Yes, it has been three weeks. Now I am focusing on theoreticals.”
“theoreticals? I wish I could say the same.
I just can’t seem to find the right books yet, my magic is just too different from normal magic to find a skill that works for me.”
I responded with a slight hint of disappointment.
“Well, I would suggest you stop focusing so much on books of enhancement, and look at other magic systems.
Afterall, all magic systems are somewhat connected at the root in some shape or form.”
She finally closed her book and responded, looking at me for the first time since we started to speak. Her bright red eyes pierced me and left me breathless for a few seconds.
“What do you mean by, ‘all connected?’” I asked rather confused,
“Well, the origin of elemental magic is said to be the gods of the elements who flooded the earth with their breaths and then people used their sheer will, to bend it to their wills.
According to this book, the origin of warlock magic was said to be beast contracts and bloodlines that were exploited to bend the world to their wills.”
After she finished her eyes finally drifted off from mine. I was lost in thought as I considered what she had said, then I asked,
“So does that mean that anyone with a beast contract can become a warlock?”
She burst out in a slight chuckle. After losing her elegant composer for a few seconds, she gathered herself then continued,
“Of Course not. There is a reason why warlock mages are so rare. It takes centuries and a lot of contracts or blood lines of similar origins inter breeding for a new warlock bloodline to be formed and maintained.
But there have been decent knock offs, such as the Vampires and werewolves who were both born from exploiting beast contracts with divine level demons.”
Her statement left even more questions than answers, but before I could ask she already had gotten up, and turned to leave.
“Wait, can you remind me of your name?”
I asked embarrassingly. Truth be told I hardly paid the other students at school much attention.
She scuffed once more before responding.
“I am Lady Anka Heraldry.” she said in a hurry as she made a graceful bow and left. It was obvious she was upset about being forgotten and that was why she reacted in such a formal manner.
Left in a stupor I started to devour knowledge and lore. The more I learnt the more questions I had.
It started out by questioning how could the contract of a divine beast be manipulated, could it be transferred, could the contract end, and what are the limits of the powers I could obtain.
