《Fox Squadron》Chapter 16-Orin

Orin scattered his head as he attempted to work through the list of issues in front of him. These issues fell under one of three categories. The summit, finding out who had lied to trick the Mopalen into starting a war with the Frayin and then the Wolgren. The first two were simple enough. The summit had been moved up and would happen tomorrow with about half the original fan fare. This put Michael in a bind as his sister wasn't quite ready. Though for the most part this was dealt with. The second had just been deemed not their problem and Lieutenant Colson was directly dealing with it. The last however had turned into a bit of a pain in the ass.
An hour hadn't even passed before what seemed like every Frayin on the station was showing up at the liaison office to file a complaint against the Wolgren. What followed was a massive cluster fuck where anyone who didn't have something that was pressing was either taking complaints or doing follow-ups on them. The sheer number of complaints was one thing but the absolute absurdity of them was another. Half of them were blaming the Wolgren for things that they couldn't have possibly done such as stealing some random object last week. While the other half were complaining that they could smell them and something had to be done about it. It was so bad that it had taken them several hours to realize that two of Ambassador Siva's Aids had shown up to help. It was late into the night when everything finally calmed down.
They were all exhausted. Half of them had set up one of the emergency cots from the storage room next door or simply crawled under their desk to sleep. Orin was considering grabbing a cot for himself when a small Frayin girl with brown hair tied off to the side entered the office. At first he gave a weary sigh and resigned himself to fill out yet another report on the Wolgren. But there was something off. Her tail was twitching and she was constantly looking about as she fiddled with the hem of her short turquoise dress. She gave him the distinct impression of being an animal that was being hunted.

"Miss, are you alright?" Her deep blue eyes immediately locked onto his. "Please, you have to help me. My sister is missing." She said her sweet voice trembling. He stood up and moved to her with the intention of guiding her to a chair but as soon as he was in arms reach she practically jumped into his arms.
"It's alright." He said as he slowly petted her head as he held her in an attempt to calm her down. "What's your name?"
"Ōvaly." She whispered. "OK Ōvaly, tell me what happened?" She took a moment to collect herself then spent the next half hour explaining what had happened. The basics came out to be that the two of them had gone to a club on deck three and had gotten separated when her sister Tvaly had complained about her head spinning and needing to sit down, at which point she had disappeared.
This had apparently happened a day and half ago. When asked why she hadn't reported it earlier she mentioned finishing the drink her sister had left behind and then blacking out until about an hour ago. This was the point he woke up Elvira, who had had the most sleep, and they both escorted Ōvaly to the medical center to be examined. He was very relieved to be told that while she had been drugged no one had taken advantage of her while she was out of it. After a small argument he finally got Ōvaly to agree to stay at the medical center while he and Elvira searched for her sister.
It was almost eight AM before they quite suddenly found her. She was walking through the hall carrying a small box with a blank look while wearing a maids uniform. "Tvaly, there you are, we have been looking all over for you." Elvira said as she approached her. But Tvaly did respond and she just kept walking with that blank look. "Elv, I think something is wrong." None of this made any sense. Why was she here? Where had she been for the last couple days and what was in that box.

Elvira gave him a nod before turning back to Tvaly. "Tavaly where are you taking that box?" This time she responded. "It is a gift for her majesty the Imperial Princess." She answered in a strange monotone voice. This set off just about every red flag you could. If it had just been the way she had said it it might have passed as her being nervous. But she and her sister were exiles and all the exiles on the station referred to Mia by name and not her title.
Their team work was flawless; they didn't even need to tell each other that they needed to separate her from that box and find out what was in it. So while Orin grabbed Tvaly, Elvira attempted to take the box from her. To their surprise she put up a hell of a fight causing them to all fall to the floor and the box to break open. It was at that point things got really bad. As several quarter inch thick green vines worked their way out of the box.
It all happened in seconds though it felt like it took much longer. Elvira let out a scream as the vines wrapped around her ankles as she tried to get away, fortunately she managed to move quickly enough to prevent them from getting a good grip of her. At the same time Orin had to drag Tvaly back away. "Naomi lock bulkhead doors 1257 and 1256 now!" He managed to yell out. Instantly the bulkheads on either side of the box started to lower. Just before the door closed Elvira pulled her pistol out and put a neat little beam of energy into the box causing it to catch fire.
Once the doors were closed Tvaly grabbed her head and started screaming in pain. Not knowing what to do Elvira switched the phaser pistol to stun and shot her. "Elv tell me that wasn't a Calotas plant!"
"The first should kill it." She responded though it sounded like even she wasn't positive of that. However Orin didn't have time to deal with that. "Nayomi, someone is trying to assassinate Mai!" Five seconds. It was exactly five seconds after he said this that there was a large explosion and the station alarms went off.

Universal Strength: Power is Everything **Indefinite Hiatus**
Power is a thing that many people greatly yearn. Those with power yearn more power and those without power yearn for it. There isn't anyone born with power that they can call their own. Power is either earned or given and in reality it doesn't matter which is better, power is power and power is everything. This is another story that has been going around in my head and I just had to let it out. I think I did a decent synopsis on this one lol. I will not be dropping my other two stories and I will be releasing one chapter of this a week as well. Chapter release is honestly whenever I can. (Warning! Story is partially wish fulfillment.) The cover art used is from Google Images and will be changed when I create one or have one created for me.
