《Dragon Rises》Chapter Six

"No. No! Absolutely not!" Eleonor yelled. "Why? WHY is it such a tight fit?! You know, I can fix this." A round of angry mumblings and red-faced flusters later as she dragged her bedsheet off her bed and began to sew. "I refuse to allow father to see you in such a... revealing state." Although Victor was not opposed to going out in nought his birthday suit, it seemed to cause Eleonor discomfort, so he believed it would make negotiations more difficult. As such, he reluctantly let her get to work. It's not that the outfit was uncomfortable, it was rather pleasant on his skin.
Instead of a simple cloak, belonging to the knight who was left unconscious against the door to Eleonors room, a soft top and, although a tight, comfortable set of trousers now covered him. The clothing was both regal, yet simple. A collection of soft yellows and cool blues cascaded down the cloth. However, what was supposed to be loose-fitting clothes for even Eleonors father, seemed too small for Victor. It got to the point that the pants left nothing to the imagination, which was improper. Extremely improper!
The shirt Victor wore resembled a doublet, with its frilled cuffs and button-up style with a belt over the waist. There was a pattern, however, it seemed aged and a great many of the supposed dogs that were had been seemingly drained of colour. The dogs, likely the insignia of Eleonor's house, now with white spots in certain locations, revealed that it was simply painted cloth. It was likely a maid long ago had messed up when cleaning it, or the paint had simply worn off.
After Victor had finished his impromptu examination of his clothing, which took roughly five minutes, Eleonor finished her sewing. Carrying it over to Victor, who only saw her carrying a bundle of cloth, she shoved it against his chest with a flush on her face.
"It's not much, but put this on. You'll at least look presentable..." She said, glowering up at him before she turned around and moved the screen between her and Victor whilst she began changing into a different dress. He blinked slowly and unfurled the giant bundle of blue, and silently gave her credit for her swift work. It revealed what could be considered a long woman's tailcoat, although it doesn't emphasize the chest or cleavage as much. When Victor began to put it on, he again mentally remarked on the softness of the material. It felt strange, this cloth. It was different from his flax shirt, and he was almost taken aback by it if he'd not been exposed to the clothes beneath. Elenor, hearing him putting it on, spoke up.

"I've never made clothes for a man, didn't have a lot of time, and didn't know your measurements. So I just made it a lot bigger than I would if it was for me." Victor wouldn't have said anything. It wrapped around his front, hiding his waist down to his knees, before it draped even lower, to his calves, behind him. His hair though... that was a mess. Likely due to him not fixing it even after he put everything on. "Also, just to make sure father doesn't get angrier than he already likely is, let's not mention that we met because I caught you bathing?"
"I was not planning on it."
"Good. Let's keep it like that."
She appeared from the other side of the screen, wearing a dress coloured in a pleasant mix of greens and blues, without the frills and pointless farthingale. It was a comfortable, casual dress made to be worn in one's own home. She was slightly sweating, though.
"Speed-dressing... that has to be a sport that I've just set a record for." Eleonor said with a smug grin as she grabbed a handkerchief and dabbed her forehead dry. "That was... what... two minutes for you to dress, five for me to sew your tailcoat, which looks impecable, I must give myself credit-"
"Agreed. It feels and appears..."
"Amazing? Fantastic? Peerless?"
"Acceptable. Also, I recall the butler saying a maid would bring it to the bath room, not your bedroom."
"Party pooper. And as for that, it was probably because my bath room is the room across from mine, even I get confused at times. Anyway. Two minutes for you, five to sew, and another three for me to dress. Father shouldn't be w-"
Before Eleonor could say anything else, Victor instantly grabbed his sword and shield and stood several feet in front of the door to her room. He'd heard the stomping getting closer and closer, with thudding footsteps belonging to hefty boots and an even heavier man. A short moment passed before Jurrian, who was still unconscious, began to wake up, rubbing his head.

"Am I d- GAH"
...
He was flung forward. The skidding of his body on the floor like a ragdoll almost brought a laugh to Eleonors face, before she looked at who had just opened her door, and a cold sweat broke out on her spine. The figure in the door was large, standing at least two metres tall, with the shoulders the width that could intimidate a mountain. His face was red in, presumably, anger, while his hands clenched the door handle so hard that the metal creaked and bent.
"Oh, hello Father... I was told you were going to be waiting in the dining... room..."
Eleonor's father didn't look at her, only to the man with ruffled hair, inhuman eyes, and a stature bigger than his own, as well as the knight his daughter, had hired knocked out cold not even fifteen inches from Victors foot.
"Before you say anything, the reason he's unconscious is that you flung the door open. I did not harm him." Victor told him. He was tired of misunderstandings. Even if it meant he had to lie... partially. But he didn't seem to care about the knight, only the fact Victor had a sword pointed at him. HIM! Lord Bern D'siri! He stomped forward, enraged as Victor stood stalwart against him. He was called a mountain, and Farias' taint be damned if he wouldn't be one that erupted. However, the closer he got, the more he sensed something was off about Victor. It was familiar, terrifyingly so.
"Father," Eleonor panicked as he got closer to Victor. "this is Vi-"
"I know who he is, Ellie." He said harshly. "What I want to know is why in Farias' ass he's in my daughters room."
"She offered to assist me. I am leaving the city in no later than three days. She said you had maps and tomes that might help." Victor told him, to which Eleonor's Father's eye twitched.
"Did she now... Ellie?" He asked her a question, yet all she did was nod rapidly, which seemed to calm him down slightly. Victor lowered his sword and shield.
"To be honest, father, we were just on our way to you. I just had to make Victor more..." She struggled to find the word. And, thankfully, her father lifted his hand to quiet her, and he looked up at Victor, before looking down to the unconscious Jurrian. Pointing to him, he looked to Eleonor.
"I didn't... really do that did I?" Ellie simply nodded once.
"He was waking up, but then you threw the door open and knocked him out again."
Bern sighed. It was an exhausted sigh, obviously at himself more than anything.
"If you're leaving soon, Victor, then come with me. We'll discuss the use of my maps and books. Although it irks me you're only coming to me with my daughter. Come... we'll discuss in the parlor." He then turned and walked out as Eleonor sighed. "Don't relax yet, Eleonor, you're not escaping punishment." That had made her stiffen up again.
