《Oublivant》1: Null, numb, and nothing

...Darkness...
.... Silence...
.. Sleep.....
....... weak....
.................
..... Nothingness permeated the void, leaving not a spark to acknowledge its existence, save for one, tiny little lick of blue-white flame which floated within the space devoid of color. It knew not of where it was, who it was, or even why it was there, as its thoughts came back, and then faded away. An indefinite amount of time passed between periods of unconsciousness with sparse bits of thinking littered irregularly in time. This flame was not indefinite, the candlelight swaying and decreasing in intensity every time it woke back up from its slumber. A vague sense of self and accompanying worry hit it as it woke up again, but it couldn't move, or change a thing about its inevitable demise. Its mind experienced panic for the first time, a sense of shrinking room. It couldn't move. No matter its anguish and despair, its shrinking space pressed further and further down on it, crushing the flame as its mind screamed into the void in psychic pain. A sudden tear in space and suction ripped it out of its panic for just long enough for it to realize that it was being pulled into the nothingness.
It began screaming louder than it ever had in its short, conscious life, but with nothing to hear it as its presence disappeared from the void. The absolute silence reigned once again, the erasing of the spark leaving no proof that it had ever existed.
...
A wrenching, screeching tremble of space awoke it.
I paused. Dead? No. Good. That was always good, I reasoned, though didn't know why. My vision simply existed, now, and I took took advantage of that to look around the inside of my chambers... Dark was my first impression. I hated the dark. I suddenly realized that my surroundings were a stone, perfect sphere, somewhat cave-like, and about 3 meters in diameter. It was much too small. Nothing good ever came from small things. Speaking of small things... I was small, tiny, in fact. I was much smaller than my home, a tiny, purple and white, crystalline octahedron barely a foot wide and two feet tall, floating in the middle of the sphere. Ow. I watched as a spider web of cracks made its way from the base of the crystal up, and I suddenly felt weak. Ow... OW. OW! OW OW OW OW OW OWCH! THIS-, THIS PAIN! I writhed mentally for a few moments, as it felt like my insides were being carved out of my body through the cracks. WHY?! I hadn't noticed initially, but something was very wrong with me. Something had been since I arrived. The cracks hadn't just suddenly started, they'd simply grown until it almost broke me while I didn't notice. STOP! STOP STOP STOP IT! PLEASE STOP! NO NO NO. N O! I screamed at it, and it seemed to work, as the cracks had stopped, but the pain didn't. Oh... I was in so much pain. The agony was unbearable. Absolute, scorching pain, like-... like-... well, I didn't have anything to compare it to, but it hurt. My whole self, whole mind, was hurt. It was very unpleasant. It took a while before the pain was bearable, and it still throbbed throughout my self. Words I somehow already knew about flooded through my mind. 'ERROR’, ‘ERROR’, ‘ERROR’, and lots of red. It didn’t help the sudden head pain I had, but that didn’t stop it.
