《Reminiscence》Epilogue

Epilogue
The moon is starting to fade as darkness recedes light replaced the surroundings putting an end to the hazy and dull atmosphere.
The chickens cackling their throats off. The sun pinned in between the window sill. Warm light is starting to flash through the clear glass.
Plop.
Plop.
Birds pooping at the roof are starting to make an alarm as sounds of thuds is starting to create an uproar.
Ahhhhh!
A man screamed but the voice was muffled because of the window covering the outside.
Still screaming the man opened the window and the scream of a lion broke the silence.
Startled by the cry the birds that had taken nesting on the man's roof in a flock started to fly out one after another.
The mans scream started to gradually lessen but the anger on the man's face is still evident. It is clear that he is not impressed at what the birds did, to the point of him yelling.
"Stupid Birds!"
He then threw a stick from god who knows where towards the birds that si starting to form a 'V' formation for migration. Even though the man knew that it was useless to do the things that he did, he still continued as a way of venting his anger.
Inside a small house.
Hearing the screaming, my eyelids twitched. I slightly opened my eyes and drowsily tried to get out of bed.
Creeping towards the edge of the bed I sat up and closed my eyes for a moment. Rubbing my eyes, I started to wipe my saliva at the my cheeks that already has been dried up. Slapping myself I got up and got unto the bed.
Walking towards the window, I opened it and peered through outside. Specifically I turned my head to the right and saw the man who has grumpily surrendered to his fate. He sighed as he resigned through the tragedy and slowly walked back away from the window closing it, as he is afraid that the smell will get in his house.

Seeing the man's misfortune I sighed and shook my head. I then raised my head to look at the sky that is still not fully light up. Closing my eyes for a moment, I chuckle afterwards, thinking back to the man's reaction.
It is quite funny and also is sad if I was on his feet. I mean it. Like, bird migration is dependent on the changing of season and seasons only change four times at that. Who would have thought that the migrating birds made a toilet out of the man's roof, if you think about it four times a year and you get that one time out of all the houses, of course you'll feel bummed.
Closing the window, I did so as the wind may carry the 'poopy' odour inside my home, then proceeded to the kitchen.
I prepared my breakfast and ate it while it's hot. Then, I washed up and proceeded to the bedroom. Opening my closet a black and white uniform hanged from the rack became visible.
I blanked out for a bit as I started remembering that I am finally fulfilling my parents dream.
Having that thought brought smile to my face as I quickly changed into it. Looking at the mirror I practiced the suaveness that my dad left me, as I posed in front of the mirror. It's weird but it brings warmth into my heart.
Having finished my morning routine, I got out of the house without forgetting to lock it.
Creak.
...
After walking about ten minutes.
A big gate greeted me and I dosed off.
Despite my surroundings already started to get busy I am somewhat lost in my own little world as I am feeling a big relief and a sense of accomplishment that I can be proud of.

'Something that I can say, a gift, to my parents.'
I thought as my I eyes started to moisten but I suppressed my coming urge to cry. Not because of sadness but because of joy. An indescribable joy!
Sensing the presence of the gate I noticed something, with my eyes closed. It emitted an air of superiority akin of that to a lion. It brings pressure to the people who enters it making them docile.
Going out of my thoughts I focused on the gate and its presence especially at the aura it emits.
Turning my head around me I saw people with the same uniforms as me passing through that gate seem unaffected.
I sighed.
'I guess it is just that I'm nervous... '
Shaking my head, I proceeded to take my very first step into the College.
...
Oh by the way the reward I got from the head of the 'bastards' is what I used to buy the small house that I dwelled. It may not amount to much but buying a house and a lot in the capital is expensive especially when it is near the commercial area and school as where my humble home is situated.
It's a good thing that its already mine and don't have to pay rents for anything.

My parents dream.
My dream.
Our dream.
Our memories together will forever be in my heart as I will always relive through it keeping them close to my heart.
The experiences we had gone through together...
Will forever be remembered as at those moments I am always,

A Will to Recognize
What do you think it takes to live? Is it strength? Power? Magic? Unparalleled intelligence? Or are they all mere accessories to the fact that life is irrelevant? Do you have what it takes to bear the burden of life? Does life even matter? I don't know, and to be frank, I am somehow alive; I was even able to function in society at one point. It frightens me to think no one else knows our purpose: not our parents, friends, or mentors. And I can't bring myself to surrender to any religion. But I do have a direction. A goal, one might say. My wish is to one day shout on top of the highest mountains, "Life doesn't frighten me!" But that won't happen. Because I died a long time ago. ... You're still here? That? Oh it was all in the script. You didn't think I'd actually say that cringey stuff, did you? ~Daniel

There's a Hero in the Kingdom
When the world has heroes that occasionally appear from another world, what impact do these heroes have? How do the people already present react? There's a Hero in the Kingdom follows the prince of the Kingdom of Sengar and his closest allies as he seeks out the newest hero that has appeared within their borders. Can he convince the hero to join in his efforts? This is very much a work in progress with the intent that it might someday be a proper series. Constructive feedback is appreciated as I would like to turn this into a fully fleshed out story for that purpose. Thank you. -Fleza Release Schedule: Routine schedule suspended indefinitely. Fateless: The Silver Lining
It has been ten years of peace for the Union since the end of the great war with the eastern barbarian tribes, yet in the cold north of the Union's land, a new threat is looming. This time, an ambitious Lord is seeking to restore the yore pride of his kin, forcing the weakened Union into yet another unwanted war, as he ramps up the ranks of his army with thieves, murderers and mercenaries.* * *The temperature inside the forge was nearly twice as high as the one outside. A black-haired girl hammered a steel ingot into the shape of a blade. The heat of the steam was draining her stamina away, but her focus remained sharp as her sweat streamed down her face. Hit after hit, for hours, the sound of the hammering steel followed the rhythm of her breathing. Exhausted, she placed the blade into the water and wiped the sweat off her face using a drenched rag. Why are they screaming? Vatra dipped the rag back in the water, twisted it, and approached the window. Her mouth opened as her world shattered again into the living nightmare she had wilfully tried to forget. She bit her lips; it wasn’t a dream. The pulse of her heart rose. A cold sweat prickled her back. A mother was running, and a child was screaming. A torrent of smoke was emerging from the roof of her neighbour. Vatra’s eyes blinked. The mother lay on the ground, a spear through her back. A torch circled in the air and landed on the roof of her workshop. In the distance, a man wearing a banner well known to the world… Fateless is a philosophical medieval dark low fantasy centered on war, militaristic campaigns and geopolitical conflicts between multiple empires. This story follows the fate of Vatra, a former slave from the eastern Nar Empire who was raised in a culture far away from her own, forced into warfare against her will, and the fate of Lanaya, an ambitious half-angel exiled from her home whose existence is seen as heresy. As they wished for peace, both chose a path opposed to one another until their fate crossed. In this story where war dictates the law, love strikes them as a poisoned balm to which they grasp for with all their might, as it is in the darkest of times that the smallest flames may burn the brightest. * * * Tome 1 already completed and available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.ca/Fateless-Silver-Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot/dp/B09LGSH1KK Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Hugo-Emmanuel-Simard-Wallot-100547579135891/ I will publish 1 chapter per week (sometimes 2 if the chapters are too short for my liking).
