《My Story in the Otherworld》Chapter 15

As time passed, we killed more and more wolves until we finished our quota. As it was already nighttime, we went back to town and of course I leveled up a bit as well. I also split up all 200 SP points since it didn't really matter what I maxed as long as I have some proficiency in all of the skills that I have. However, for now I could not see the new level 30 equipment that I know I have since Lyka is with me. Lyka and I had to go back to her home due to the fact that the Adventurer's Guild was closed for the night. I guess it wasn't a 24 hour thing like I thought it would be.
When I went back to my room, I immediately checked out my item box. Like I thought, there were new items there.
Magic Helm:
+90 Defense
+50 Magic Defense
+10 Magic Attack
Magic Armor (Lower and Upper Body)(Gem Socket slot Available)
+150 Defense
+100 Magic Defense
+20 Magic Attack
Magic Shoes
+100 Speed
Magic Kote
+20 Defense
+20 Magic Defense
+5 Magic Damage
I also saw that besides all those items, there was a gem next to it as well.
Defense Gem (Rare)
+30 Defense
As I played a lot of MMORPG games, I quickly realized what the gem was and did not question Navi about it. I replaced all my old armor and quickly implanted the Defense Gem in the Magic Armor where there was a hole in the chest region. The armor quickly sucked in the gem and it emitted a bright light. The look was pretty good. The armor was gray, but it was sparkling like it had been coated with pixie dust. The gem in the middle was also extremely nice since it was so sparkly. However, the only problem is that it is too flashy and I don't really know how to fix that. The helm was the same as well. However, overall, I was satisfied with my equipment, but as I was about to close the item box, I realized that there was an item that I did not recognize. I quickly took a look at it and was utterly shocked.

Soul of Belphegor (Material Item)
"Navi what is a material item?" Although I played a lot of MMORPG, I have never heard of anything even remotely close to a Material Item.
"A material item is an item used to help upgrade an equipment. For example, the Heart of the Demon of the Forest that you used previously is an example of a material item. It was just that you never really checked it,"
"Ahh, I see. Oh yeah come to think of it, I could get an upgrade for the Tempered Katana can't I?"
After remembering that I am way over level 30, I quickly took a look at my Katana.
Katana (Bound to Jeffrey D.) Rank 2 Bronze
+80 strength
Ability 1: After two attacks using this sword, it absorbs the air mana around it and creates a condensed tornado that is able to shred boulders.
Ability 2: The Wind Nature is called and you gain double your Attack for 20 seconds. However, you are in a weakened state for 5 seconds after the effect is over Cooldown: 8 seconds.
Passive: When equipping this item, one's attack speed is raised.
Equippable at level 10
|Upgradable! Materials needed to upgrade: Soul of a Demon, Attack Magic Jewel, Perantium, 15 grams of Magic Powder|
"I swear to God that the system is just creating all this shit on the god damn spot. Like there should be no way that they should be able to predict that I would kill Belphegor. Also, what's this? 15 grams of magic powder? This seems like fucking Full Metal Alchemist now,"
"Jeffrey, please stop having these types of thoughts. The system must never be doubted or insulted," Navi suddenly said.
"Ok," I said in a sarcastic tone. Since I had a bit of a nap earlier, I wasn't really all that tired anymore and decided to find the rest of the materials for the katana and also enjoy the night life of the town. As I set out, I immediately used Conceal Presence and went out of the mansion without anyone noticing.

When I went out, the atmosphere was so much different than in the morning. Like in those animes, it felt like the entire town was Paris since everywhere was so well lit. Crowds upon crowds of burly men looking like they are about to have a drink or were already drunk were running into pubs everywhere. As my Conceal Presence was on, no one really took a look at me and so I was able to get into the Merchant's Guild without a problem. When I went in, Amania, the same elf that helped me the last time I came here was there at the front desk once again.
"Hello, Amania, the Adventurer's Guild is closed why's that?"
"Yeah, the rule was established by the previous Guild Leader of the Adventurer's Guild before he went to the Central. Not many know this and I only know this because the Merchant Guild Leader told me while he was a bit drunk, but apparently, there were many adventurers coming in drunk into the Adventurer's Guild acting annoying and disturbing everyone there. Of course, this isn't enough to make them close at night, but one time, a really strong adventurer came. I believe he was at the Orichalcum Rank. He was here to visit his family that would not move out to Central with him for whatever reason and while he was there, he lowered his guard and drank too much. He ended up creating havoc in the Adventurer's Guild. Unfortunately, even the Guild Leader wasn't able to stop him since the Guild here is only a branch guild that doesn't have much importance to it so the previous Guild Leader was a Diamond Rank . Of course, the man apologized and all that, but in the end, the Guild was shamed. It's been around 10 years since then so not many people know, but so that the same thing never happens again, the Adventurer's Guild simply just closes at night unless there is an emergency. This is a secret known only to a number of people that could be counted with 2 hands. The more that knows, the more embarrassing it gets so yeah,"
Seeing that the Guild had such a past, I almost laughed out loud, but I held it in.
"So I see that no one ever makes trouble with the Merchant's Guild?"
"Yeah, the Merchant's Guild is a bit different. Unlike the Adventurer's Guild where the Adventurers are at the core of the Guild so they can't just expel Orichalcum Adventurers, we have merchants at the core of our Guild so if someone, especially an Adventurer, dares offend us, every single merchant in the Merchant's Guild will know who you are and if you try to buy or sell something, you will be denied of any service whatsoever. Even various inns, pubs, and etc. will never accept you ever again. The Adventurer's Guild has a lot of power, but to Adventurer's who can become extremely rich from just the Merchant's Guild alone, the Merchant Guild has more power than the Adventurer's Guild to them,"
"Ahhh, I see," I said.
"So how can I help you?" Amania asked with a beautiful smile that keeps on just alluring me.
"Ahem, do you guys have Attack Magic Jewel, Perantium, and 15 grams of Magic Powder?" I said a bit awkwardly.
Amania looked at me a bit funny, but in the end she said, "Alright, please wait a couple of minutes,"
While I was waiting for her, I heard a contemptuous voice screaming out loud.
"Well look who it is, it's a fucking Peasant Adventurer!"
