After the two chatted for some time, in the blink of an eye, it was already evening. Lilica had promised to meet Ven in the evening so they had to cute their date short. Kazuya was a little grumpy since his date plan wasn't even done and she was going to another man already.

Nevertheless, he still reluctantly drove to their meeting place to drop her off. Kazuya saw that Ven was already there. However, he drove the car to a stop at a certain distance away from Ven. From Lilica's seat, she couldn't see Ven and didn't know that he was already there. Kazuya opened his door to get down and opened the door for Lilica.

Ven had spotted the shiny red sports car and his eyes was following it and he saw Kazuya come out of the car. Suddenly, he had a bad premonition. He felt that the reason Lilica had abruptly decided to return to the demon realm was because of the Second Prince.

Lilica came out of the car when she saw that Kazuya was opening the door for her gentlemanly. She could clearly see he was sulky and didn't want her to leave so she tried to comfort him with a deep kiss.

"We can continue after I finish my talk, alright? Hubby?" Lilica sweetly said after her kiss.

"…Fine… Just this once, wifey…" Kazuya said helplessly as he kissed her back, his intention was to provoke the watching Ven, making sure his voice as loud enough for Ven to hear. This is my woman! Don't you dare lay a hand on her!

He returned to his driver seat as he glanced at her for another kiss like a little kid.

Lilica knew what he wanted and bent down to the car window to give the devil another kiss, without realizing that Ven was watching her.

The two reluctantly waved each other goodbye. Lilica walked to the spot they had promised and found that Ven was already there.

Naturally, Ven, who was trained to have good hearing and was able to read mouths, knew that from their conversation, they had become closer, and possibly already married… The thought of it made Ven feel really sad even though he knew that Lilica was going to reject him when she said that she was going to talk to him.

"Ven!" Lilica called out to him.

"Lilica…" Ven replied glumly.

"Let's go somewhere to talk." Lilica suggested as she knew she had a lot of talking to do today.

"…Okay." Ven replied, still feeling gloomy at the thought of being rejected by Lilica.

At a café

"Ven, I'm so sorry. I know that you had my best interest in mind when you proposed to me, but I can't bear to make use of your feelings." Lilica decided to cut to the chase since her hubby was waiting grumpily for her.

"It's fine. I proposed to you knowing full well that you would reject me." Ven replied dryly, his eyes full of sadness and disappointment.

"You see… Yesterday, after you dropped me off at the company, I ran away to a hotel and Kazuya found me. After that, we talked things out and reconciled. He wasn't actually married. The person who was married was actually his twin brother, Kazuki." Lilica said carefully, trying her best not to hurt her best friend's feelings.

"…"

"I told him about the baby and he accepted it, even proposing to me…So…that's why, I'm sorry. I accepted his proposal even though I didn't give you a clear answer. I'm so sorry! I only think of you as my best friend!" Lilica apologized as she felt really guilty. She didn't want to give any hope to Ven so she ha to be very clear about how she felt.

"…"

Lilica glanced at Ven's reaction and saw that he looked really sad and disappointed. She felt even more guilty since she had hurt his feelings badly.

Ven was feeling despaired. He knew that she didn't think of him more than a friend but still tried endlessly anyway. However, Kazuya's presence was too strong in her heart that he had no way inside.

"*sniff* …Can I ask you something?" Ven said softly, suppressing his sadness.

"…"

"Can we still be friends after this?" Ven asked hopefully. If he couldn't be her life partner, then he at least wanted to stay by her side as her best friend. If she was happily living then he was satisfied with it.

"Of course! You'll always be my best friend!" Lilica replied quickly.

"Okay then! I'm sorry but I have some matters I need to attend to…" Ven said quickly, suppressing his tears as he stood up to leave.

"Okay… Bye…" Lilica said, still feeling bad about hurting his feelings.
