In the ballroom

Lilica and Sharon entered the ballroom to join the banquet. Soon, she spotted her parents. Their expressions were screaming, ‘Are we at the right place?’

“Mom! Dad!” Lilica called out to them happily.

“Lily! How are you feeling?” Mrs. Stell asked the first thing when she saw her daughter. Yesterday, Kazuya had taken her back when she was still sleeping. Kazuya had contacted them and said that she was fine, but Mrs. Stell was still worried about her daughter.

“I’m fine, Mom.” Lilica replied with a smile. Somehow, she was feeling refreshed. Maybe it was because she had just eaten a delicious ‘meal’ for the first time after a long while.

“That’s good.” Mrs. Stell sighed a relief when she saw how refreshed Lilica looked.

Mr. Stell was relieved to see his precious daughter feeling well again. He had observed the banquet and he could tell that the royal family would not mistreat her by how grand the banquet was.

Not far away from the four people chatting, the queen and the king was walking towards them. When Mr. and Mrs. Stell saw the both of them, they immediately knelt down and greeted, “Greetings to the King and the Queen!”

“Please stand up. We’re going to be a family from now on so there’s no need to be courteous. It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Stell, Mrs. Stell.” The queen greeted the both of them kindly.

“The pleasure is ours.” Mr. Stell and Mrs. Stell replied politely.

The queen nodded with a smile and turned to Lilica, “Lilica, you can go find your friends with Sharon. I’m sure they’ve already arrived.”

The queen wanted to have a small chat with their in-laws and knew that Lilica was going to be bored by the adults’ talk, so she found an excuse for Lilica.

“Okay, Mother.” Lilica replied as she and Sharon walked away.

Lilica searched around for Ven and Ventina and soon found that Ven was surrounded by several important looking demons. Ven looked accustomed to grand parties such as this but Ventina, who was standing next to Ven had an elegant look plastered to her face. However, to her friends, it was obvious that she was frozen and looked a little helpless. She wasn’t used to such parties.

Lilica chose to ignore Ventina who was looking at Lilica for help so that Ventina could stay with Ven a little longer.

“Ven seems busy so let’s go find the others first.” Lilica suggested as she dragged Sharon towards Zeke and the others.

“Okay.” Sharon agreed readily as her eyes locked onto Zeke’s flirty eyes. Zeke was very famous as a playboy in the demon realm. Sharon wanted him to pay attention to her, but she didn’t want to be just one of his women. She wanted to be special to him and that was why she had never crossed the friendship line.

“Oh! The star of the night’s here!” Zeke teased Lilica walked toward their group.

Lilica smiled back at his teasing and naturally walked towards him so that Sharon could stand next to Zeke.

“It’s no fun when you don’t retort back or anything.” Zeke complained playfully.

Lilica chuckled and said, “Kazuya told me that the best way to deal with you was to just smile and stay quiet.”

“Urgh! Kazuya’s a spoilsport.” Zeke complained.

“Lilica, where’s Kazuya?” Ken asked Lilica when he couldn’t find his cousin anywhere. He had expected Lilica to appear together with Kazuya.

“He’s getting my medical results. He should be joining us soon.” Lilica replied.

“That iceberg actually went to get something for someone?!” Zeke exclaimed, looking shocked.

“I think he only does that for his dear darling wife.” Ken joined in with the teasing.

Lilica just smiled graciously as an answer.

“Look at her! You’re like a professional wife with that smile and confidence.” Ken teased her.

Lilica chuckled and didn’t answer nor deny anything. She enjoyed their teasing since it was funny.

“…Lilica. I’m so sorry for before.” A petite woman with a familiar face spoke up with a sweet voice.

However, to Lilica, she felt like the voice was superficial. It was obvious to her as a fellow woman that the woman was being fake.

“What do you want, Lacey?” Lilica asked with a cold voice, her eyes showing her hostility. She had a very negative impression on this woman since she had dared to slap her before. Lilica hated people that tried to injure her and the people she cared about.

“Lilica. I’m so sorry. I’ve realized my mistake. Here. Let me offer you a drink as an apology.” Lacey handed one of the champagne glasses she was holding to Lilica.

Lilica didn’t even reached out to receive the glass as she said in the same superficial voice Lacey had used on her, “Oh. I’m sorry. I’m pregnant so I can’t drink alcohol. It’s not good for my and Kazuya’s baby.” Lilica had intentionally emphasized on the words ‘Kazuya’s baby’.

Hearing the two words made Lacey’s face twist from jealousy. It was obvious that this woman still had feelings for Kazuya.

“This isn’t alcohol. See? The color’s a little different. It’s juice,” Lacey continued in her sickening sweet voice.

Lilica gave her a snort and received the glass from Lacey and brought it to her nose to smell it. She was sure the vicious woman had tampered with the drink. If not, the annoying woman wouldn’t be smirking like now.
