To Lilica’s surprise, there was no strange odor. The color was also really of the juice that was being distributed in the banquet. Did Lacey use an odorless and colorless drug?

Just as Lilica was pondering about how she should deal with this vicious woman, she felt the usual warm and strong hands of her husband on her shoulder.

“You’re here!” Lilica said as she enjoyed being embraced by him.

“Did you wait long?” Kazuya asked her sweetly.

“No. Ken was just asking about you.” Lilica replied.

“Okay.” Kazuya nodded without looking at Ken, like he had just ignored Lilica’s last sentence.

“Kazuya… Long time no see…” A sickeningly sweet voice acted shy.

However, Kazuya totally ignored her and looked at Ken questioningly, as if to ask, ‘Who brought this idiotic woman here?’

Seeing as she was ignored, Lacey couldn’t take it and interrupted his questing gaze, “Kazuya, I wanted to apologize for last time, so I asked Ken for an invitation. Don’t blame him.” Lacey explained with her superficial voice.

Lilica rolled her eyes at the obvious act and said in her mind, ‘I thought you invited yourself here. Just look at Ken’s reluctant face.’

Seeing that his cousin’s mood was turning for the worse, Ken decided to text Kazuya instead of speaking up.

‘She threatened me that she would commit suicide if she couldn’t come to the banquet today. I can’t just let her kill herself.’

Kazuya looked at the text and sighed. He knew that this cousin of his had always been a softie, especially to women.

Kazuya then answered Ken’s text, ‘She’s going to threaten you again for sure.’

When Ken saw his reply, he didn’t agree with Kazuya. He didn’t want to believe that women were scheming creatures.

Lacey saw that the two of them were texting each other and knew that Ken had probably told Kazuya about her threat. She felt panicked but when she saw Lilica holding the champagne glass, she quickly composed herself.

‘As long as that b*tch drinks even a sip, everything would turn out well! After her death, Kazuya will be mine!’ Lacey thought as she revealed a mocking smirk secretly.

However, Lilica was observing this woman all the time so she caught a glimpse of her malicious smirk. It was confirmed that there was definitely something wrong with the drink.

“Hubby~” Lilica spoke up and then turned to whisper into his ears and said, “Do you have a silver needle or anything? I think my drink might be poisoned.”

Lilica made sure that she had said the words ‘hubby’ loud and clear, so she could continue gauging Lacey’s reactions.

Kazuya’s handsome face darkened when he heard Lilica’s words. Her drink was poisoned? By who?

At that thought, Kazuya immediately knew who had poisoned his wife’s drink. It was so obvious that it was funny. Did that woman really think they would fall for such an obvious trick?

Kazuya called for one of the butlers to get a silver needle, so he could test whether there is any poison in the drink.

“What did you whisper to Kazuya?” Zeke asked curiously. It seemed he was determined to tease the couple tonight.

“You’ll see.” Kazuya replied instead of Lilica.

“Why are you being so secretive?” Zeke asked.

Kazuya didn’t answer but instead, tightened the shawl on Lilica’s shoulders and whispered into her ear, “One of my love marks are visible. Should I cover them up?”

Kazuya had made hickeys on her neck and Lilica had tried her best to cover them up with makeup, but she failed to cover the one on her shoulder. Probably because she was too busy covering the ones on the neck.

Lilica blushed and tightened her shawl almost immediately.

“Lilica blushed! What did you just whisper to her?!” Zeke asked excitedly, sure that he could use this to tease them.

“Secret.” Kazuya replied indifferently.

Soon, the butler came back with a silver needle. Seeing the needle, Lacey became pale. She was the one who had suggested that she would get the poison herself and coincidentally, she had gotten the arsenic type! If the needle was dipped into the drink, her plan would immediately be busted! No matter what, she had to take the glass back!

“Lilica! I handed you the wrong drink! That one is an alcoholic drink! Let me get you a new one!” Lacey hastily said as she tried to grab the glass back.

“I smelled the glass just now and it’s a juice, just like you said earlier.” Lilica said with a smile.

Lilica handed the glass to Kazuya for him to test for poison. If there was no reaction, then she would let the drink go through several tests. She knew that the drink was definitely poisoned!

Lacey panicked even more when the glass was in Kazuya’s hands. She knew it was too late for excuses now. As Kazuya dipped the needle in the drink, Lacey grew paler and paler.
