At the east courtyard in the palace

In the letter that she received, she was called out by Kazuki’s doctor to the courtyard. It seems like there were some problems regarding his recovery. As Lilienne was afraid that there would be after effects from Kazuki’s coma, she wasn’t suspicious of the letter at all.

“Doctor?” Lilienne spoke up amidst the silent night.

However, there was no response. Lilienne thought that she had come early so she found a spot to sit down and wait for the doctor.

After a few minutes, there was still no sign of the doctor so Lilienne got up and was about to search through the east courtyard when suddenly, she heard a ruffling sound from the bushes behind her.

“Huh?” Lilienne was about to look behind when a voice called out to her.

“Lily!” Kazuki shouted as he ran towards her, looking alarmed.

“Kazu-“ Lilienne couldn’t finish her sentence when she was suddenly knocked out by a strong force behind her. Sh felt a slight pain on her neck before she passed out.

“Lily!” Kazuki sped up but the man behind Lilienne just sneered and grabbed the passed out Lilienne away…

As Kazuki had been running from the west courtyard, he couldn’t catch his breath and felt really lethargic. He had just recovered from his coma for two months and he still wasn’t so used to running around just yet.

Seeing his wife being taken away right in front of him made him feel very frustrated. Why couldn’t I run faster? If I could, I would’ve been able to take her back in time…

Several footstep sounds were heard from behind him.

“First Prince!” The guards greeed Kazuki politely. However, he wasn’t in the mood to greet back as his eyes flashed dangerously.

“Lilienne was kidnapped just now! They went that way. Bring some people to help search for them.” Kazuki said in a cold tone, a huge contrast to his usually gentle tone. He was much more like Kazuya right now.

“Yes, First Prince!” The guards shouted before they went in the direction Kazuki had pointed earlier.

Back to the study room

Lilica still couldn’t contact Lilienne and she was worried sick.

“I’m sure she’ll be alright.” Kazuya tried to coax his wife. He was also worried for Lilienne but he knew that his brother would do anything to ensure her safety. Anyways, he couldn’t do anything since he was currently in the human world.

“But what if…” Lilica couldn’t bear to finish her sentence, afraid that it would come true.

“Leave it to my brother. You know that he would never let Lilienne meet any harm. Anyways, stop worrying about them. It’s not good for the baby.” Kazuya said as he stroked her stomach. The doctor had emphasized the importance of emotional influence to Kazuya since Lilica had fainted a couple times just from feeling emotional so he was trying to be careful of her emotions.

“...Okay…” Lilica replied reluctantly as worry still filled her heart.

“Rena, from now on, tell us everything the enemy ordered you to do. Also, from those plans, eliminate the ones that you find are life-threatening. We still need you to complete some of the enemy’s plans so that he won’t notice that you’re a spy. If we can catch the enemy, your husband will also be safe, I promise.” Kazuya ordered.

“I understand.” Rena replied resolutely. More than the enemy, she trusted the royal family more when it came to promises. Although the enemy had promised her that they wouldn’t do anything to her husband if she obeyed them, it seemed unlikely that the promise would be kept.

“Let’s sleep. You need to rest.” Kazuya said to Lilica as he took her hand affectionately.

“Okay.” Lilica replied. It was true that she was feeling really tired right now. Pregnant women would usually find themselves feeling sleepy most of the time but she wasn’t like that until the incident. Ever since the energy transfer incident she found herself feeling a lot weaker and tired. She was so tired that she lost her appetite frequently too.

The two of them made their way to Kazuya’s bedroom. It was actually the first time Lilica had taken a close look at his house in the human world. She had only been here once when she was picking up Lilienne many months ago.

Kazuya opened a door to a room casually as he led her by the hand inside. His room gave off the same vibe as the one in the demon realm; simple and cool.
