“So basically, it was all because he wasn't chosen as the ruler of the demon realm back then. His motive in trying to kill us is probably to take over and rle the demon realm.” The king summarize.

“However, Father, in the picture we got from Ellie, the man looked quite young. He didn’t look like someone from your generation.” The king argued.

“That’s also what I’m wondering about…” the former king murmured as he tried to search his brain whether there was any magic that could change one’s appearance. In the picture, Michael hadn’t aged at all ever since he last saw him thousands of years ago.

“Did you use some taboo magic?” Kazuki suggested, feeling like any forbidden spells could be used by the enemy.

“...Don’t tell me…” the former king muttered, as he made a stressed expression.

“Have you thought of something?” The queen anticipated.

“I do have an idea, but… it’s something that was just in the legends. Even I’m not sure if it’s true.” The former king replied before he continued, “I’ve heard before that if a demon wishes to lengthen their lifespan, eating another living being alive will make the said demon live around 10 years longer, and that the living being has to have a humanoid form. This means that it’s possible that he had eaten humans or demons before, just to keep himself alive.”

“!!!” Everyone was stunned. There was actually such a thing?

Suddenly, a knock came through the door, bringing everyone back to reality.

“Your majesty! I have a report from the guards near the gate!” The man reported.

“Come in!” The king said.

The guard went into the room and felt a little overwhelmed by the presence of all these important figure of the demon realm.

“Speak.” The king ordered, bringing the man back to reality.

“The first princess has been rescued!” The man reported.

“Really?! What about the kidnapper?” Kazuki asked as he felt relieved.

“We have also caught him! The guards are bringing the both of them back.” The guard reported dutifully.

“Is Lilienne safe?” Kazuki continued asking the guard.

“First Prince, the first princess has yet to wake up so we still do not know.” The guard reported honestly.

“Is that so…” Kazuki looked disappointed. However, he soon tried to think positive. At least she has already been rescued.

“You may leave.” The king ordered when he noticed that the guard had nothing else to report on.

After the guard left, the king turned to ask his father, “Father, do you know his whereabouts in the human realm?”

“Unfortunately, I haven’t been in touch with him at all so I do not know where he currently is.” The former king replied with a sigh.

“I see.” The king replied, deep in thought. What could he possibly do to lure the enemy into exposing his hideout?

The next day

Kazuya and Lilica woke up early in the morning since they had rested so early yesterday.

“Morning~” Lilica gave the man next to her a good morning kiss.

“Morning…” Kazuya replied groggily as he kissed her back.

“Let’s go shower and head for breakfast.” Lilica said before she placed Vampy, who she had retrieved secretly from the floor during the night, on her bedside.

“Just store that guy away. He doesn’t deserve to be near you.” Kazuya grabbed the plushie and threw it towards the cupboard in the room.

“Why do you need to be so jealous? Don’t worry, I love you and not the doll. Now get up! We still need to ask dad about what exactly happened back then. And also about Lilienne’s situation right now.” Lilica pouted playfully as she pinched his cheeks cheekily.

“Father’s already sent me a text. He said that Lilienne was already rescued and that she was safe.” Kazuya replied and carefully carried Lilica to the bathroom inside his bedroom. His room in the human world had a bathroom inside. This meant that they could now flirt openly in the bathroom without fear of anyone entering in on them!

“That’s great.” Lilica breathed a sigh of relief.

After a while, the two were done with their shower and headed down to the dining room. On the way there Mr. Stell also came out of his room at the same time.

“Morning, Dad!” Lilica greeted her father cheerfully.

“Good Morning.” Kazuya followed suit.

“Morning.” Mr. Stell smiled at his daughter.

“Let’s eat breakfast together.” Lilica suggested.

“Alright.” Mr. Stell replied.

The three of them then headed to the dining room and after a while, they were done with their food and it was now time to ask what had happened back then.
