《The Digital Dungon》Chapter 5

The egg is moving. Well, Shaking would be a more apt description. "How long before it hatches?" I keep my vision on the egg as I ask Cal.
"The Digiegg absorbs Aura the same as you do. Sadly I can't access any of the egg's information. You, on the other hand, have the capabilities to analyze its data the same way you do powers." Cal informs me.
Well, that would have been helpful to know when I first summoned the monster egg. I peer at it, trying to will the status window to appear. I feel some mental wall in my way. I try to keep my construction, but the more I push, the stronger the wall becomes. Just as I think a mind-ache is going to form, the wall blast opens, revealing some information about the digiegg and the monster inside.
Digiegg
Type N/A
Species: Unknown
AP: 4/5
Ok, not the monster, but I do notice that it's Aura Points are at four with only one more until it is full. "Dose the egg hatch when its AP is full" I query Cal once more. Their head bobs in acknowledgment. "Is there a way to speed the process up? If the egg only gains one Aura Point per day, then filling my dungeon with monsters will take far to long."
Calumon's eyes close, and her face takes on a reflective appearance. "There is a power," they start. "I don't know if you can access it at your level. Check your powers for Aura Manipulation."
"I can buy Aura Manipulation, but the power did not seem useful to me," I tell them.
"Uggh, no power is useless. It depends on the person, or in this case, Core. " Cal's hand rubs their cheek as they speak. "One of the purposes of Aura Manipulation is for you to increase the strength of newer monsters.
I check my AP before making a decision. Surprise hits me in the Core at the staggering amount. 458 Aura points is a whole lot more than when I had last checked. I know that I gain one AP a day. Does this mean that I have been digging out a tunnel for almost 200 days? No, the egg would have already hatched if that was true. I study both the Status and Power screens to try and find the answer. To my dismay, there is non. I Finally decided to ask Cal. I am trying not to rely on them this much, but this system is still too new for me. If they are telling the truth about why the system has brought them here, then they will give me the answers I need.

"Cal, I have 458 Aura Points," I tell my fairy. "I figure this to be a lot more than I should. Why do I have so much?"
"That is a lot for you to have at any one time." They state as if I have not just told them as such. "Have you not been using it to purify your core?" They look at me questingly before a change comes over them. "No, of course not. I didn't tell you about the process of leveling." Cal does appear regretful. I doubt doing so was a mistake. "You have that amount of Aura because you have been digging out your dungeon. One of your abilities absorbs the matter around you, turning said matter into Aura. I don't know how much it takes for you to earn a single AP."
That explains why I had so much the last time I checked as well. If I can gain Aura from digging, then I will go ahead and buy all the powers I can get right now. Hopefully, as they level, I will acquire some better Powers. I look at my new Power screen afterward.
Powers Cost Level Exp Sumon Digiegg 5 Ap 1 1/10 Create Digiportal 10 Ap N/A N/A Trap Creation 20 Ap 1 0/10 Item Creation 20 Ap 1 0/10 Aura Manipulation 10 Ap/ sec 1 0/10 Magic Item Creation 50 Ap 1 0/10
That is going to become one long list if I keep buying powers. I still have 308 Ap to my Core. "I went ahead and bought all the powers I had access too," I inform Cal. Why did I just tell them that? I mull over my dilemma.
"Well, that is one way to go about using your Aura," Cal says. "You can go ahead and put 200 into strengthening and leveling your Core. Focus on your whole dungeon, all at once." I do as they say. "For most races, their Aura surrounds the body in a thin layer. As they get stronger and learn to both utilize and strengthen the Aura, they must begin to contain it in a new location. Your Core comes into play as one of the containers." Cal waves their hands about the air. "Your Aura is all through the dungeon. I want you to pull it from the dungeon and into your Core. As you do, try to remove the impurities within, and fix any issues with the structure. Stop when you gain a level. The rest of your AP is going to need to create more digieggs."

With my focus throughout my dungeon, I guess my body would also work. I feel for my Aura and begin to pull and compress it toward my resting place. The air presser rises, increasing the difficulty in my task. When I have all of the Aura in my boss's room, I try to pull it into my Core. The presser on my consciousness spikes drastically. I keep up my struggle as I look into my Core for any flaws Cal told me to find. I find a whole lot of them. I began at my bottom. Focusing on one of the more substantial defects, I try to smooth it out. In doing so, I come across some kind of matter, not apart of my Core. Using some of the Aura, I break it down and force it out of me. Pain, unimaginable pain racks my mind as I complete my task. I quickly fill the hole with Aura; I need a lot before the pain recedes into memory.
I feel a popping followed by a new set of words.
Level up
I let my Aura go from my grasp. I open up my Status screen once more.
Name: Yggdrasill
Race: Core
Class: Dungeon(Digital)
Level: 2
Aura: 108
+1 Attribute point for monsters.
Where would you like to place the point?
Another new screen opens up, my second one today. I am on a roll with this system.
Attributes Points Health +0 Mana +0 Strength +0 Stamina +0 Wisdom +0 Speed +0
Uggg, now I will have to pay attention to my monster attributes. The system is getting harder to follow as I learn new concepts. I completely ignore my previous back-patting. I go to ask Cal for help once again when I hear a cracking noise. I focus on the egg immediately, excitement replacing my agitation.
The egg wobbles as a single crack curve around its center. Within a few moments, the top pops up, reviling a small black ball. Yellow eyes look around the room, blinking ever so often. When it's gaze finally lands on me a cooing sound echo throughout the chamber. The ball hopes up and out of its shell, both pieces falling to the ground. I notice two small round ears that were hiding beneath the top section. I analyze this new creature. This time there was no mental wall in my way.

So I am supposed to name you? Well, let's think about that for a little while.

Nameless Hypocrite
"Bastard, surrender yourself!" "You think you can escape our encirclement?!" "An omnicidal fiend like you can only atone in death!" Despite his precarious situation, a young man ignored the union's provocations. His violet robe was in tatters, showing the incredible number of attacks he received, yet there was no sign of injury. Noticing the light smile tugging at his lips, the pursuing heroes warily watched him, cautious of a final attack. It was only by working together that they could corner a monster like him. An arrow pierced the air, beelining towards the young man. A malicious gleam revealed itself in his eyes; he unsheathed his sword, a long, curved blade, and deflected the projectile, spiking it into the ground. The archer's eyes widened before being split in two. He died suddenly and indignantly. The group backed away; their former confidence diminished greatly by the invisible counter. It was then that the young man sighed, his voice full of lament and self-pity. "Being a saint truly is difficult, even the world cannot understand my righteous actions." The expressions of the surrounding heroes turned ugly. Such blatant hypocrisy! Yes, the protagonist is a villain. We don't do morals here. New chaps when I write them
