The next day…

Arnold woke up with a groan, the beds not as comfortable as the ones in his HQ but is still good enough to sleep in. Thankfully no issues showed up last night, but his men are still alert for anything. As he was getting up from bed, he immediately saw his notifications ringing from the corner of his vision, his eyes widen in excitement as he quickly sees the result of his special forces’ secret mission while he was away.

This ability is restricted to the user’s current level, increasing levels will in turn raise the summon limit & lessen some restrictions. If Artillery, Vehicles, Aircraft, Naval Vessel, Facilities & Structures are summoned, the required amount of personnel operating them will be summoned alongside. Combat Service Support personnel (Combat Engineers, Maintenance/Mechanics, Communications Specialists, Supply & Food Specialists, Medical Soldiers, etc.) are not included towards the Infantry summon limit. 10 CSS personnel are assigned to each soldier and marine. There are no restrictions in summoning small arms and heavy weapons that require 1-4 soldiers operate.

‘Yes! Finally, some reinforcements now we can cover more areas. Now I just need to finish the trenches first before summoning more advanced weaponry for my troops.’ Arnold thought before heading off to eat then went back to work.

During this time, he summoned 12,000 soldiers and 15,500 marines for defense along with their CSS personnel. This means that there are nearly 300,000 men under him in the northern front even if ninety-percent of it is Combat Service Support.

After that, he began to summon more vehicles to transport and support his troops, making them an entirely mobilized force. He summoned 800 M54 and 200 Ural-375D trucks for cargo and transport, 600 Leopard 1 supported by 200 M60 Patton, 200 M109 Paladins and 100 BM-21 for his now artillery corps, and 150 M114 APC where they will all be allocated to both the Army and the Marines. The remaining unsummoned vehicle will be for his base as support should it be needed.

For additional indirect fire support, he summoned howitzers which consisted of 600 M102 105mm, 300 M114 155mm, and 200 M115 203mm along with mortars consisting of 400 81-mm M29 and 300 120-mm Soltam K6. He replaced the AK-47 with the more reliable AKM, the MG 42 with the FN MAG, along with the RPG-2 with both the RPG-7 and the M2 Carl-Gustaf.

*whistle* “Look at all those serious firepower, nothing’s going to get through with these bad boys. Now to finish our defense line so I can go back to improving everything at the base.” Arnold said as he was awed by the mighty sight of his army.

After finishing the 300 kilometer long defense line, Arnold went back to his MOB with a few hundred of his newly summoned personal guards along with a few thousand support personnel to maintain his base. But not before improving his radars and anti-air system with the new and more mobile MIM-23 Hawk that can position itself anywhere needed.

The AFCC controls one CWAR, one HPI, and three launchers with a total of nine missiles. 1 × PCP: Platoon Command Post 2 × LCS: Launcher Section Controls 6 × M-192: Launchers with 18 missiles. 6 × SEA: Generators 56 kVA (400 Hz) each. 12 × M-390: Missile transport pallets with 36 missiles 3 × M-501: Missile loading tractors. 1 × [bucket loader] 1 × Missile test shop AN/MSM-43.

After finishing his air defense Arnold finally sees the strong walls of his base in the distance along with a long convoy of trucks and APCs with him. When the verification process was complete he stepped off his vehicle where he is greeted by a small formation of officers and his, in that group he sees Charlotte and surprisingly, even Anne saluting him of his return.

“At ease everyone. Charlotte, I trust there were no problems that occurred while I was gone?” Arnold inquired his second-in-command as he returned.

“Reporting to Great Leader! Except the lack of manpower a few areas in the base, no problems occurred while you were away, sir.” Charlotte replies.

“Umu, regarding that I summoned 12,000 soldiers and 15,500 marines with hundreds of thousands of CSS personnel at the north to which I brought a few thousand CSS personnel to help maintain this base including a few hundred personal guards to aid in our defense.” said Arnold indicating the extra arms with him.

“That reminds me, Col. Charlotte Williams and you too Col. Anne Ruth, we will have a general meeting in two hours in our main HQ. Have all our high-ranking officers in both bases attend it, we will have a major reorganization regarding our military. The rest of you, carry on to your posts.” ordered Arnold.

“Yes, Great Leader!” Charlotte said.

“By your command, Great Leader!” Anne said

After 2 hours, except the high ranking officers at the northern front, all important officers were gathered in the main HQ. The main focus of the meeting is to establish the structure for his armed forces and to promote those who would be in command. Due to the increase in size, he promoted Charlotte to General and Anne to Lieutenant General, he also placed Charlotte as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff while Anne was the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Arnold also decided to separate the Army Air Force from the Army and created a new Air Force Branch where he put someone named General William "Billy" Mitchell in charge of it.

For the navy, he basically summoned Chester W. Nimitz as his Fleet Admiral, one of the only four fleet admirals in the history of the USA. Under him are Admiral Andrew Cunningham, Admiral Bertram Ramsay, and Admiral Karl Doenitz which serves mostly as the main defense against enemies in the seas.

The meeting took more than 9 hours, as Arnold and his military cabinet as they talked about administrations, his inauguration, signing of legislations, and other things political which left him rather burned out.

‘Hoooh, who knew that that running a somewhat of a country is tiring as hell, and we’re even planning for the future expansions where we have to possibly build dedicated cities and town for the civilians since all of them basically can’t live in a base their entire lives. And I still have to build more airbase and even naval base to accommodate both aircrafts and ships. A head of state’s work is never done, it only increases!’ Arnold mused in his head as he was basically learning the ropes of building a country by scratch.

What’s left of the day, Arnold used to expand his base to accommodate more aircrafts. For his Air Force, he summoned 200 F-4D Phantom II, 100 A-7 Corsair II, 100 C-130, 50 An-12, 10 SR-71 and 740 assortment of various helicopters like the UH-1 Iroquois, CH-47 Chinook, Sikorsky CH-54, MH-53 Pave Low, MH-6 Little Bird, Bell AH-1G Cobra.

For his Navy he summoned 10 Enterprise-class aircraft carrier (each carrying 30 F-4J Phantom II, 15 A-7 Corsair II, 10 A-6 Intruder, and 5 E-2 Hawkeye), 35 Charles F. Adams-class destroyer, 10 Kashin-class destroyer, 10 Truxtun-class nuclear powered cruiser, 10 Kresta II-class cruiser, 15 Sturgeon-class nuclear-powered fast attack submarine, 15 Victor I-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, 10 Sacramento-class fast combat support ship, and 5 Vulcan-class repair ship.

For his Naval Aircrafts on base, he summoned 100 C-130, 100 P-3 Orion, 100 CH-53 Sea Stallion, 100 CH-46, 50 SH-2 Seasprite and 50 Bell 206. He left 200 unsummoned as reserves.

After the immense summoning, Arnold retreated for the night inviting Charlotte and Anne for dinner talking about mundane activities to pass time because if he sees and hears more talk about work he feels like he’s gonna lose it. He enjoys both of their company as he laughed at the constant bickering of the two, and secretly enjoying the subtle ways Charlotte and Anne seem to vie for his attention.

Two months has passed as Arnold continued doing mountains of paperwork in his office which basically was his second home. His troops were constantly doing drill exercise to prepare for the coming monster wave, there were some cases where a small of group of hog-type, wolf-type, and even bear- type monsters get too close to the defense line but a concentrated fire from the troop’s M2 browning and FN MAG proves sufficient to take them down without casualties with the various obstacles halting their charge. Skirmishes like this now seemed more like a hassle rather than excitement from their first encounter as they waited and waited for the real action to come.

Night came and it looks like it would be another uneventful one, however as the soldiers at the middle of the trench were keeping watch, the radios and radars came to life. An SR-71 picked up a large swarm of monster in a clearing 80 kilometers away from the defense lines while radars picked up multiple signatures numbering hundreds 120 kilometers north heading also heading towards the defense line at speeds of 250 kph.

Estimated time before the hostile air units arrive is 30 minutes with the hostile ground troops following after approximately 90 minutes. Hearing this the entire defense line woke up with activity as the battle they’ve been preparing for months is finally here. Some were anxious, some were thrilled but they all have something in common, they were all determined to kill and hold back these demonic beings to protect their homes behind them, and to also make their Great Leader proud. This night signified in the future as the first major battle where Arnold takes his step into the path of world domination.
