《The Adventures of the Mask Maker》Reviving Fanz
Advertisement
Seeing Fanz dead and his soul leaving his body, I asked him in Ghost Language, "Hey Fanz...can I have some of your spirit essence?"
Fanz's soul looked at me with ridicule, "Can you take it from Hel's lap? Could you fight the warrior of Freya? Can you stop Loki?"
"If its Loki, then yes. Loki is a frequent customer of my master...in fact, he still owes my master a few favors."
Fanz struggles but in the end, a part of his soul was taken. While I was calming down this agitated soul, Fanz let slip and called me "mortal". When I heard this, something dark inside me welled up. "Wait Fanz...you're not human?"
When I received the answer, I was immediately elated. Without permission from Fanz, I grabbed my Skinning knife and removed Fanz's face.
"No worries Fanz, I'll use this mask for the better of our guild. Plus, there's a reason I removed the fleshly face from your corpse. With this spirit essence I received from Loki, I can forge a mask that will reconnect your body with your soul. Freya has already spoken. You will get a title that will tell everyone that you are one of Freya's warriors. Plus you'll get a blessing so don't feel bad."
Taking the face, I activated Maker's Domain and made a powerful B-rank mask:
Wrath of FanzZeta: B-rank
Non-transforming mask
No cooldown
Permanent/No-limit
Indestructible
Stamina Drain 10% per hour
Special Abilities:
All abilities of FanzZeta can be used.
*If FanzZeta wears this mask, he will enter Berserker King mode and all his stats and capabilities x10
"Thanks Fanz."
Then, I took the vial of FanzZeta spirit essence and made a binding mask:
Soul of FanzZeta: C-rank
Transforming mask
Binding mask
No cooldown
No-limit

Indestructible
Special Abilities:
Binds FanzZeta's soul to his body - resurrecting him.
Receives blessings from Freya, Loki, and Hel
Spiritual connection with Freya increases x3
Satisfied, I deactivate Maker's Domain and placed Soul of FanzZeta on his corpse.
Fanz resurrects but he seemed pissed for some reason. "This isn't how I'm supposed to revive Khaos. You ruined it!"
Immediately after those words were said, the surrounding area suddenly cracked. I looked at the cracks that were increasing in the sky and on the ground. *SHATTER* The whole placed shattered as if shedding an illusion-type layer. I looked around, everyone was still fighting and Fanz was still dead.
"Could all this have been an illusion?" I asked myself.
But when I looked a the Wrath of FanzZeta in my hand, I realized that it may not have been an illusion but an alternative timeline created by the demon orc. So in the timeline created by the demon orc, I resurrected Fanz and created Soul of FanzZeta and Wrath of FanzZeta. But in the actual timeline Fanz is still dead...but how did the Wrath of FanzZeta appear in my hands? Could it be that because Fanz vehemently rejected the resurrection, it shattered the timeline? So the Soul of FanzZeta shattered along with that timeline since it ties in with Fanz's resurrection. However, because I still kept Wrath of FanzZeta, it did not shatter and I was able to bring it over to this timeline.
I looked at Fanz's soul and said, "It seems like resurrection will depend on you now, here's Wrath of FanzZeta. Don't ask me where I got it from."
With that said, I departed from the scene. How Fanz revived is not my story to tell.

Necromage
Dan is your average worker who managed to get his hands on the a VR helmet for the newest game, Eternium. He finds himself in way over his head as everything is deadly down to the smallest Rabbit. Join Dan in his adventures through this fantasy world! This is an offshoot to my other series, Bunnymancer. This story will focus on what if Dan went down a different path and became a Necromancer instead of a Bunnymancer. The story will be a little darker and the first six chapters will be the same. Past that though we will get into a new plotline, though if you've already read through bunnymancer I would suggest starting at chapter 7 when reading through this. This is a book within the Completionist Chronicles Universe. I was given permission to make this as long as I did not publish it as an official Mountain Dale Press work or sell it for money.

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
