《The Adventures of the Mask Maker》Betrayal

Princess Emelelyn then brought me over to another hall. It looked like a strategic room where the meetings are being held. There were a few Elves looking at a map. From their conversation, it seems that the Monster Army has sent two groups to attack their East and South Gates. She walked up to two male Elves and pointed to the older looking one. "This is my first brother, Crown Prince Thorhil Oakenlake."
"Nice to meet you, your Highness. My name is Khaos." I said as I reached out my hand.
"Likewise. I heard you saved my sister, haha. Just call me Thorhil...or do you prefer Brother-in-Law?" Thorhil replied as he shook my hand.
"Haha, please don't joke when there's a crisis going on." I quickly responded. Princess Emelelyn seemed to be glaring at me, but I ignored her.
The princess gritted her teeth for a bit before pointing to the other male Elf, "This is my second brother, Prince Morgal Oakenlake."
"Greetings." I said as I reach out my hand.
"Hmph." Morgal grunted as he slapped away my hand, "Emelelyn, why did you bring him?"
"He's here as a diplomat. With his word, we can receive help from the adventurers of Adventurer City." Emelelyn replied.
Morgal turned his head back at the map on the table. "If he's a diplomat, then he's of no help with the battle going on outside."
"But-!"
"That's okay princess, I'll step out." I said as I turned and left the room. Hmm, maybe I should explore a bit. I walked around for a while before accidentally bumping into a noble at a corner. "Sorry."
"Insolent cur!" The noble roared. "Do you know who I am? An disgusting animal like you running around without a leash!"
A little angry at the noble, I said, "I am a diplomat from Adventurer City and a guest of the king. Is this how you treat guests?"

"Hmph! The king doesn't have any power. I do!"
Suddenly, a warrior next to the noble said, "Advisor Forestwind, you've said too much."
Advisor Forestwind covered his mouth and glared at me, "Hmph! Let's leave."
As they left, I muttered, "Plunder!"
In my hands, a badge appeared. I observed the badge...it seems that Advisor Forestwind has ties with the Elves Supremacist Faction. When I thought about his words, I realized that Advisor Forestwind must be the faction leader. I decided to follow him and see what's up. I grabbed my Ghost Mask and transformed into a ghost. Then, I turned invisible and fluttered behind the Elven noble. I followed him all the way to a room. As we entered the room, I see the second prince standing near the window with his back turned.
When the second prince heard the advisor come in, he turned and said, "Is everything prepared?"
"Yes Leader! We have over 80% of the Assembly members in our favor. Once you make the move, we will blame it on the Crowned Prince."
"Good...good."
So that's how it is...the second prince is the real leader of the Elves Supremacist Faction. They're plotting something...could they be trying to overthrow the throne?! I quietly left and immediately headed to the main hall where the king and queen were governing over kingdom-related problems. I took of my mask and knocked. As soon as I heard the king say 'come in', I opened the door.
"Ah...Adventurer Khaos...was it?" King Thrion said.
"Yes, your Majesty." I replied.
"What is it you need?"
"I have some urgent news to tell you." I said.
"What urgent news?"
"The second prince is part of the Elves Supremacist Faction and so is Advisor Forestwind. They plan to overthrow you. They already have over 80% of the Assembly under them." I replied.
"Hmph, that's unlikely. I know my son and though he is arrogant, he won't join a faction like that. You must be mistaken. As for Advisor Forestwind, I've already known."

"But I saw him and Advisor Forestwind-!"
"ENOUGH! On the behalf of you saving Emelelyn, I'll forget we ever had this conversation. You may leave."
"But-."
"YOU may leave."
Reluctantly, I turned around and left. When I found Princess Emelelyn and told her of this matter, she too dismissed it. It seems the second prince has delude them too deeply. The princess showed me my room and told me that for now, I should just stay there. Then, she left.
..........
Night fell; in King Thrion's bedchambers....
..........
*Knock* *Knock*...
"Come in." King Thrion replied as he looked out the window.
"Father," Morgal said as he walked in, "you wanted to see me?"
"Morgal, answer me honestly...are you part of the Elves Supremacist Faction?"
Startled, Morgal stammered, "W-what do you mean? I'm not..."
"Did you plot against me?" King Thrion said as he turned towards Morgal...only to feel a sharp pain in his left side. He looked down and saw a knife protruding from his body. Looking up, he saw Morgal, "Y-you!"
"You left me no choice Father. Now DIE!!" Morgal exclaimed as he pull out the knife and stabbed again.
At this time, the Crown Prince walked in, "Father, I think I have a good idea of wh-...Father! Guards! Guards! The second prince has betrayed us!"
Guards started pouring in and rushed towards the second prince. The second prince dropped the knife and jumped out the window. As all Elven warriors (including the princes) are extremely athletic, the second prince was able to land safely on the ground. I rushed in from the sound and saw the bleeding king. Then, I rushed towards the window intending to capture the traitor...unfortunately, the second prince was too far in the ranks of the Monster army. It seems that not only was the second prince the leader of the Elves Supremacist Faction, but also a spy/traitor for the Monster army. Despicable!
"Damn it!" I muttered. I turned and checked on the king. Unfortunately, the king has breathed his last.
The guards seeing that the king has died, knelt before the Crown Prince, "Your Majesty!"
"What did you call me?" Thorhil asked.
"You are now the king, your Majesty."
"You..you."
"Now is not the time to mourn, your Majesty." I said, "The second prince is part of the Elves Supremacist Faction as well as a traitor of the Monster army. Who knows if the Elves Supremacist Faction is part of the Monster army as well or not. You should take care of these things."
"Yes...you're right. I'll wipe out every last one of them. You must take Princess Emelelyn back. It's too dangerous here."
"I will."
I exit the room and bumped into the princess. The princess cried, "Is it true? Father is dead?"
"It's true."
"WHO! Who did it?"
"The second prince."
"Morgal you bastard!"
"Princess Emelelyn, your brother has told me to bring you back to Adventurer City."
"No, I want to see my father!"
"Fine."
Princess Emelelyn barged in and upon seeing her father's body, she rushed to hug it and cried deeply. The new king, King Thorhil, urged his sister to leave the place. Finally, the princess agreed. I took the princess and we left the castle immediately. As we left, we saw Advisor Forestwind screaming and struggling in the arms of two Elven guards.
"I didn't know he was part of the Monster army! I didn't know!" Advisor Forestwind screamed.
...And that's the last we heard of him. Hurriedly, I brought the princess away. After many hours, we arrived back at the guild and I reported the results.
