《The Adventures of the Mask Maker》The Eye of Odin

After receiving some quests, I sent a mental transmission to Blackie telling him it's time to gain some experience. We decided to head north towards the North Mountains to kill a Firebird. After a few minutes of flying, we arrived. Now previously, I had found out that the Firebirds are amassing their armies and wiping out Wyverns and Rocs that lived in the North and East Barrier Mountains. Anyways, after searching a while for a Firebird, I spot a Firebird toying with a wounded Wyvern.
"That Firebird is Third Cousin...he is the second strongest of the younger generations after my Second Brother." Blackie said as he saw the Firebird. "What should we do with him?"
"Let's kill him while he's not paying attention. But before we attack, cultivate on these quickly." I said as I fed Blackie the three Emperor of Fire pills that I had leftover from previous pill making session.
After eating the pills, Blackie spent two hours cultivating the pills completely, which raised his abilities in Fire significantly as well as giving him the skill - Rebirth by Fire. While he was cultivating on the pills, I kept observing the Firebird as he continued to toy with the Wyvern. It seems the Wyvern cannot hold on much longer. As soon as Blackie finished cultivating on the pills, I mentally told him to fly into the air...higher than the Firebird. Next, I used Roaming the Skies and charged towards the Firebird from behind. With a Dragon Palm, I rammed into the Firebird before he could finish off the Wyvern. *BOOOMMM!* The palm attack crashed into the Firebird and stunned him. The Firebird flew upwards into the air and was met with a fireball from Blackie. The Firebird crashed into a nearby mountain. As he staggered to his feet, I used Flow Like Wind and appeared before the Firebird. With my skinning knife pulled out, I beheaded the Firebird.
Once I collected the corpse into my storage ring, I turned around and approached the fallen Wyvern. The Wyvern looked at me with defiant eyes as if to say "Just kill me." Reaching towards my bag, I pulled out a healing potion and forcibly fed the Wyvern.

"What did you do-?" The Wyvern sputtered a bit before realizing that the effects were helpful with his healing. "W-why did you help me? Haven't your kind been killing us off these days?"
"I have more enmity with the Firebirds than with you Wyverns." I replied.
"I see...then...I can leave right?"
"Yes...oh wait! I need to see your Wyvern Lord."
"The Wyvern Lord?! Why do you want to see him?"
"I have a message I need to give to him." I replied as I pulled out the Wyvern claws I got from the Wyvern of previous encounter.
"These...these are Young Master's claws! Where did you get them?"
"I found your Young Master dying from a Firebird's attack. He told me to warn his father of the Firebird attacks and to avenge him of his death. These claws are proof of his words."
"I'll take them and report your message to the Wyvern Lord." The Wyvern said as he took the claws and left.
Seeing the Wyvern off, I head off to the distance. After a few minutes of speedy flying, I arrived at the Lamia Hive in the Sacred Land of Orcs. Looking below, I see a herd of Lamia feeding on a bunch of Orcs. Once, Blackie hovered above the cluster, I jump down and Dragon Leap in the middle of them - stunning them. Then, with my knife flashing, I slit everyone of their throats. Then, I used a fireball to burn the bodies to ash. Upon finishing the quick killings, I hopped back on and headed directly south towards the Jungle Lord's Abode in the Rainforest Vale.
Upon arriving at the Rainforest Vale, I jumped off of Blackie and told him to hide and patrol around in the skies only appearing when I call for him. As I walked over to the Jungle Lord's Abode, I began absorbing Morian's Essence from the surrounding plants using Essence Manipulation, converting the Essence into liquid using advanced level Essence Manipulation, and storing them into a jar. After absorbing three times, a sudden roar resounded in the sky. A giant Guardian Dragon flew over and pounced towards me. Quickly, I jumped out of the way. Hmph! A few days ago, this type of dragon would have prove too much for me; however, now I could easily defeat it.

Using Flow Like Wind, I circled around to the dragon's side and Dragon Palm its side. The force knocked the dragon a few feet away. Not giving it any chance to regain its balance, I charged forward and Dragon Horn its head. I grabbed the dazed dragon's neck and jumped into the air, carrying the dragon with me. Reaching an apex, I Dragon Throw the dragon and slammed its body heavily into the ground. As I fall towards the dragon, I pulled out my knife and aimed at the dragon's open belly. Suddenly, I heard a sound to my left. I glanced in that direction and sees a vine shooting towards my head. Sparing no time, I threw the knife into the dragon and killed it. Turning my head to face the vine, I brought up my hands to block...however, the vine snaked around my guard and aimed for my head. With some quick reflexes, I jerked my head to the side but I wasn't fast enough and the vine pierced into my left eye. A second vine appeared and slammed into my body.
It seems that Morian is personally going to attack. I reached to my left eye...and felt nothing...it seems my eye was gouged out as blood flowed continuously out and into my hand. My mind spun with pain as I tried to think. I reach into my bag and hurriedly grabbed out the Mask of the Bomber. In the process, I accidentally pulled out the stone eyeball I exchanged with the Bandits in Treacherous Ports. Now some of you may be wondering why I exchanged a Fire Pearl for a measly stone eyeball. Well, the reason was because when I appraised it, I found that the item had a name! But it showed ??? meaning that the level of this item is at least two ranks higher than my A-rank. In addition there were some special attributes/abilities but they were also ???. Anyways, I put on my mask and summoned Shadow.
"Shadow! Quick, cast Bombardment!" I screamed as I winced in pain.
Shadow immediately threw many bombs in the area. I quickly stored the dragon corpse into my storage ring and grabbed the stone eyeball with my bloodied hand and called Blackie over. Hopping on Blackie, we flew away. Shadow, having finished bombing the area, disappears and leaves behind a clockwork spider to buy me more time to escape. As we flew away, I felt my hand tremble. I looked down at my hand and see the stone eyeball shining. Suddenly, the eyeball shot out from my hand and flew into my left eye socket. Pain pierced my skull as I winced and screamed. Blackie looked at me worried, but I told him to continue flying after struggling through the pain. After a few moments, the pain resided and...I can see with my left side again! The stone eyeball has fused with me and became my new left eye. Suddenly, a message appeared in my mind. Upon closer look, I see that the message details the status of the stone eyeball:
Eye of Odin: SSS-rank
Binding item - binds to user until death.
Special Attributes:
Increase all capabilities by 2x
Special Abilities:
All-Seeing - sees all; night vision, heat vision, x-ray vision, microscopic vision, telescopic vision, etc
What an incredible item! Now that all is well, I head back to the guild to report my successes. On the way a Wyvern appeared in front of me. It was the Wyvern I saved previously. The Wyvern flew towards me and greeted, "I have report your message back to the Wyvern Lord. He has declared war with the Firebirds and hope that humans will consider a ceasefire with us. We do not want to lose any more warriors."
"Ok, I'll see what I can do."

The Patchwork Realms
Athos is a good dog. He likes frisbee, bacon, and his family (SmolFriend, Mom, and Dad). He's not so keen on falling through an interdimensional portal to a fantasy world where floating boxes tell you that you've just been given status as the 'Supreme Exemplar' of your species, a powerful package of abilities that includes human-level intelligence. Sure, being smart is nice but less so when it comes with the need to survive in a land made from bits of different dimensions stitched together like patches in a quilt. A thousand species, a thousand lands, sorcery and super science rubbing elbows, wars and intrigue everywhere...it's exhausting for a good dog who just wants to go home! Note that this is a work in progress with lots of fiddly numbers so I will occasionally need to go back and fix errors, and this might affect events of earlier chapters. I'll try to keep this to a minimum and will post a note whenever it happens. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
