《Pleasant Nothings》Memories not so sweet

I squeezed her hand while I told her about my life without her. I did not notice when the tears started streaming down my face. I did not register when mom woke up and started crying softly behind me. I poured my heart out to Gran, and I could not stop talking until finally, I did. My heart felt lighter, and I let Gran's hand go and kissed her on her forehead. Before I could turn around, mom pretended to be asleep. I could see her eyes were puffy. She had been listening, and I did not mind. I softly walked out of the room and toward the elevator. Right as I entered, I saw Annie standing in the elevator. She looked like she was considering what to do. She smiled at me and hit the first-floor button. "Let's talk," she said. I was in no mood to argue.
This time we made it to the cafeteria. I went through the line, grabbing my favorites, and not caring how many empty calories I was ingesting. I got pudding, a coca-cola, and a hot dog. I knew I was going to regret the heartburn later, but I just wasn't in the mood to discipline myself. We sat down and tucked in. I looked up at Annie. She had made much better choices. She had a coffee and what looked like a very healthy salad. She looked at me and said, "I cannot eat like that anymore, Claire, I will be up all night long." I told her I understood and agreed. She could tell how distraught I was, and she said: "Claire, your grandmother's prognosis is excellent, and I am not just telling you that to make you feel better." I thanked her. I started fidgeting with my fingers pulling the dead skin off my cuticles. It drove mum crazy when I did that, but I could not help it. When I was nervous, my cuticles suffered. At least I had stopped eating my nails. Annie looked at me with deep brown soulful eyes and said: "Claire is there anything that I can help you with?". I had not realized how much I had needed a friend until then. I began weeping loudly, and I did not care. Annie looked around quickly and picked up my elbow and lead me outside the cafeteria to the enclosed outside eating area. It was hot outside, so other than the smokers huddled in the smoking area, we had the place to ourselves.

Chronicles Of The Storylord: 12th Chronicle - Origin
Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am the 12th soul, but I am not as those others are, for I am merely a shard. My purpose: begin the Tale anew. For I am the Storylord, and I am the Tale. The Tale is all, and all is the Tale, yet the Tale is myself, for I am all in my domain. This is my story, the saga of many, the legend… of the Tale. Just remember this: “This world is but a story, and all the stories are true...” This story is in the same general multiverse as RE: Deity by lightningwarrior21, but will be almost completely separate except in a few chapters. I have permission from him to use his base multiverse, and you should go check out his fiction, it’s really good. http://royalroadl.com/fiction/9597 This ‘fiction’ will be updated sporadically, so don’t expect much of a steady stream of chapters. (I’ll try to do one chapter a week, but no promises.) Suggestions on how to improve this universe helps with the management, so comments are welcome, as are Grammar Nazis. I’ve had this fiction mostly as scattered notes in my google drive, and only recently had enough time to actually put it together, like I promised lightning back in January. (Writer’s block and schoolwork do not mix well.) The cover is not owned by me, I found the image on google images. Anyway, I’ll be back yesterday… or was that tomorrow? (I really need to get that damn causality generator fixed, me-damnit!) See ya!

After Fishing For 10 Years, I Became A Saint Without Knowing How To Raise Beasts
Yu Chi transmigrated to a world covered with savage, barren lands, where more than 10,000 races fought to ascend to the top. He began his life in this world in imprisonment. While the others had completely forgotten about his existence, he took out a bamboo stick that he had been carrying with him since his previous life. The souls of ancient divine beasts could be found in various savage lands and rivers. His bamboo stick could communicate with these ancient souls. When he fished at the Death Sea of Hades, he got the voice of Naga Siren. When he fished at the Ice River of Skeletons, he received the attack power of Blobfish. When he fished at the Lake of Grotto-Heaven, he obtained the golden eyes of the Five-Talon Divine Dragon. When he fished at the Cliff of Hanging Candles, he acquired the fire of the Nine-Tailed White Fox. In the blink of an eye, millions of years had passed. Deities and pet beasts from various corners of the world came to congratulate Yu Chi on his wedding. A prominent figure couldn’t help but ask, “Why are you so terrifying?” As Yu Chi stared at his gorgeous wife, the memories of him fighting millions of devils in the Underworld flashed in his mind. He then smiled and replied, “There’s nothing I can boast about. I was just lucky.” Thank you for reading After Fishing For 10 Years, I Became A Saint Without Knowing How To Raise Beasts novel @ ReadWebNovels.net Read Daily Updated Light Novel, Web Novel, Chinese Novel, Japanese And Korean Novel Online.
