Chapter 51
Challenge – Part 2
Tuesday, 1st of June – London, UK – Earth:
“So, what do you want?”
Nazar, who was not in his normal form, looked blankly at Edward “Eddie” Hunt who looked very serious.
Floating above London in the evening, Eddie seemed very serious but Nazar seemed annoyed.
“So, what brings you here?”
“A few things, but…”
Eddie paused before continuing.
“She remembers.”
Nazar’s eyes widened.
He shouldn’t be surprised but he wasn’t expecting someone like Eddie’s girlfriend to remember it.
“Why her?”
“I…”
Nazar was not sure how to reply to him.
He didn’t have an answer either.
“Did something happen between the two of you once she remembered?”
Eddie shook his head.
“Hm. That’s… Why do they remember?” Nazar muttered under his breath.
Nazar ran multiple scenarios in his head but none of them gave him an answer.
“Fuck!!”
Nazar thought about something.
“Did I do this?”
Eddie looked at him in a confused manner.
“Did I accidentally do this when I made a few people remember me…?”
Nazar shook his head.
“No, I didn’t do it. Laura had regained her memories earlier, right? Same with Emma. So…”
“Yo?”
Eddie waved his hand in front of Nazar’s face, but he was thinking very hard about this.
“Then who did this? Michael? That Goddess bitch Michael mentioned?”
“Nazar?”
“And what about the woman who messed around with me? She is the same as the Goddess person, right? I mean, I never really wanted to think about her but it kind of feels like they are the same person. Michael mentioned that it all started around 10 weeks ago before that day… So, that woman and the Goddess are definitely one. For some reasons, I always knew that.”
Eddie shook Nazar slightly but he didn’t even pay any attention to it.
“So, that’s taken out of the picture. And it just leaves four suspects. First, Michael. Second, the Goddess. Third, my other personality. Fourth, the person who was controlling Lucifer.”
Eddie was getting annoyed with Nazar.
“So, out of these four ones, which one is doing this? It could be any of them. Or…”
Nazar gulped.
“Or it could be none of them. It could be someone else entirely. Someone new…”
Eddie clenched his fist.
Nazar noticed that he was deep in thought.
“Ah.”
So, he sucked in a breath and forced a smile on his face.
“Sorry. What do you—Ouch!”
Nazar came to his senses but at that moment, Eddie punched him in the face.
Of course, he didn’t punch him hard enough but Nazar still felt pain.
“Oh, so you are finally awake?”
“Dude!”
“Sorry but you were saying some stuff and it was starting to annoy me.”
Nazar sighed again.
“So, what were you thinking about?”
“Some stuff…”
Nazar sucked in a breath.
“So, what do you want? Or are you done?”
“We need to talk about something but before that, I found this perfect place that sells the best chicken wings I have ever eaten.”
“I am not going with--”
Nazar trailed off.
“Did you say chicken wings? The best?”
Eddie nodded.
“Let’s go!” Nazar exclaimed excitedly.
“Race ya!”
Eddie waved and flew away towards the USA.
Nazar took a deep breath.
(This is gonna hurt but… Accessing Nazar 1.0.)
His form reverted to normal. Compared to earlier, he was far more muscular now.
But he felt intense pain throughout his body and in his mind.
However, that didn’t stop him.
Nazar sucked in a breath.
“[Instant Acceleration]!”
In order to move at their fastest, a person must move a certain distance and gain momentum over time. However, with Instant Acceleration, a user can reach their maximum speed in an instant.
Activating Instant Acceleration, Nazar moved.
In less than a second, he was floating above New York City, where it was afternoon.
Of course, he could have teleported, but he just wanted to show off to Eddie.
(Accessing Nazar 3.1.)
His form changed to what he had earlier.
As Ion, he is supposed to be this heroic person. However, Nazar 3.1 shares the same personality as Nazar 1.0. But his physiology is of Ion.
As Ion, he only has psychic powers such as telepathy and telekinesis.
So, when he accesses any variation of Nazar 3, an armour appears around him automatically.
Every form of his has many variations. He has mixed around his personalities and physiologies. Nazar did it because he found it interesting but he did not know that it will be very useful to him on day.
Today is one of those days.
Eddie was still flying over the ocean but Nazar had already reached this place.
He wasn’t sure where the restaurant is, so he waited for Eddie.
He waited for thirty seconds before Eddie arrived.
“You’re late,” Nazar said to Eddie in an exasperated manner as soon as he reached Nazar.
He knew Nazar will be floating above New York City, so he came here.
Many years ago, they decided their checkpoint in New York City will be above the Manhattan Bridge.
And in London, they would meet right above the Palace of Westminster.
“So, where is it?”
“It’s a diner in Brooklyn.”
“Oh, nice. Will we see Daredevil there?”
Eddie sighed.
Both of them flew towards the diner.
Placing an illusion around them, they landed in front of the diner and entered it.
After a few minutes, they got what they ordered.
As soon as the waiter placed the food before them, Nazar took a bite of the chicken wings.
Chewing the food and thinking about, he seemed both impressed and disappointed.
“Well, it is good but just not the best.”
“Seriously?”
Eddie had ordered a burger for himself.
“The best chicken wings I have had were in London. It was this small fast food place and they were perfect.”
“Is that so?”
Eddie ate his burger without paying Nazar a lot of attention.
“Sadly, they closed down a few years ago. I think the owner died and then no one else continued it.”
“That’s sad.”
“I really thought about resurrecting him.”
“You know, you should use your powers for the greater good of humanity instead,” Eddie said as he took another large bite off his burger.
“You know, if humanity was supposed to die, the only reason I will save it is because it has the best food in the known galaxy.”
Eddie placed down the burger slowly and looked at Nazar.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!?!”
Nazar shrugged.

One hour later later - Planet Yira:
Baros was sitting in the bar with his friend, Tir, the short man with a large eyeball as a head. He looked younger than before.
When his people grow older and older, their skin tone becomes darker and darker.
So, right now, his skin tone was much lighter than earlier.
Judging by skin tone, he should be in his early 20s right about now.

“”
Tir looked down at his body.
“”
“” Baros shook his head. “”
“”
Tir thought about it.
“”
Tir was not sure what he was feeling.
“”
Tir nodded with a complex expression.
“”
“”
“”
Tir stood up.
“”
Feeling heavy, he picked up a bag which was near the table and started to walk.
“”
“”
“”
“”
Tir looked back and forced a smile.
“”
Tir walked out of the bar with a bag in his hand.
He owned the bar, so he had someone else to cover for him while he was gone. He didn’t want to close it down.
Baros sat alone and drank.
“”
He wasn’t sure what to feel about this whole situation.
“”
Suddenly, he got a message from Nazar.
""
Baros stood up and started and started walking outside.
He reached his hand and was about to open the door, but someone else opened it from the other side.
Baros’ eyes widened once he saw who it was.
“”
Baros smiled and nodded.
“”
Darkness was sent into shock.
Her knees became weak and her face became very hot.
Her eyes were wide open.
“”
She tried to avert her gaze.
“”
Baros was confused as to why Darkness avoided him.
“”
“”
Soon after, a magical circle appeared and vanished into thin air.
Baros was confused as to what just happened.
He sighed and left the bar.
Just a few meters away, behind the bar, Darkness was panting heavily.
Darkness pressed her back against the wall and looked up.
“”
She had placed her hand on her heart and could feel her loud heartbeat.
Noticing her loud heartbeat, she held her head in her hands.
“”
She made sure that no one would hear her voice, so she had placed a barrier around herself.
“”
She calmed down a little and thought about it.
""
She shook her head.

Now, New York City, USA – Earth:
“The real reason I called out today is…”
After they finished eating, on Eddie’s face, a serious expression appeared.
“The No Names…”
Nazar finished eating and listened carefully.
“They have planted a bomb somewhere in the world.”
Nazar’s expression became serious.
“And you couldn’t tell me earlier?”
Eddie felt a little guilty.
“I have been working on it for hours and was kind of tired and hungry. Sorry.”
“How do you know?”
Eddie took a deep breath.
“A few days ago, I came back to earth and started playing the “hero”. So, they took notice of me and left me a letter written in blood. The message was left inside a mall.”
“Oh?”
“It says that they have planted a bomb somewhere in the world. And it will blow up by noon tomorrow.”
“Where?”
“I… I don’t know that.”
“Where did you find the message?”
“Michigan.”
“Michigan? Interesting.”
Eddie stood up.
“Let’s see the message.”
“Okay.”
“So, where was it exactly? In Michigan, I mean.”
“Detroit.”
“Become Human.”
Eddie breathed the heaviest sigh of his life.
“Just kill yourself.”
Leaving the diner and flying away without anyone seeing it, Nazar and Eddie soon reached Detroit, Michigan.
On the way here, Nazar’s armour had appeared around him.
Landing inside a mall near the river. The mall was completely empty because the authorities were still investigating the matter regarding the message written in the blood.
Nazar started analysing the scene. He now had his armour around him.
“Sooo… Why did you take your Ion form? Wouldn’t your normal form be more suitable for a situation like this?”
Nazar looked down.
“Besides my Ion and human form… I can barely use my other forms in battle.”
Eddie’s eyes widened.
“I think it’s because I am too weak in these two forms and that’s why it was not affected. Or maybe because it’s not exactly my ‘normal’ form.”
“Um, what?”
“When I was creating these two forms, I made them different. While still the same body, unlike the others, it’s different. My entire molecular structure is different.”
“But you look the same.”
“Do I?”
Eddie chuckled in a confused manner.
“Um...”
“Yes. This is just my human form but with powers. And an armour.”
“I still don’t get the difference.”
“In my human form, I don’t have any powers. Even if I turn off my powers, I will still have it. But in my human form, I don’t have any powers. It is because it’s an entirely new body. My body reanimate itself into my human and normal form.”
“Uh…?”
Eddie scratched the back of his head in a confused manner.
“So, when I was making my Ion form, I used my human form and added powers to it, making this new form.”
“I mean, I am as confused as I was before but… I guess, it works?”
Nazar sighed deeply.
“So, you can’t use your normal powers?”
“I can but the pressure on my mind is… It’s very hard to concentrate and use my powers without doing something as dangerous as blowing up the planet.”
Eddie looked at him blankly.
“Or being too weak to lose consciences rather quickly.”
Eddie was not sure what Nazar was saying right now. But he did understand that Nazar’s other forms are useless. Ion is the best shot he has right now.
Deep down, he seemed disappointed but he did not show it on his face.
“Anyway, let’s investigate.”
Nazar looked at the blood closely.
“How good are your senses?”
“Uh, the best?”
Eddie was confused as to why Nazar asked that. After all, Nazar gave him Eddie powers. And he knows how accurate his senses are.
“That’s not blood.”
Surprised, Eddie blurted out, “Eh?”
“It’s a paint that doesn’t have a smell and of course, looks like blood.”
“But--”
“It has no smell at all. And blood has a smell.”
Nazar analysed the rest of the mall.
“Plus, it has a chemical structure that is nothing like blood.”
“Oh…”
Eddie looked a little embarrassed. He has been in this game for years and still can’t tell the difference between blood and paint.
“So, I guess we can call this a prank and call it a d--”
“Get down!”
Eddie said as his eyes lit up with light blue energy.
“Oh.”
Nazar also sensed something.
Eddie called down thunder and something blew up in the air a few miles from here.
“Hm. I guess they wanted to kill us.”
“Yeah. But I am still not giving up on the bomb thing.”
“Me neither.”
Eddie looked at Nazar in surprise.
“My sensors picked up something…”
His armour is made of nanites, and of course, it has many features like shields, teleportation, sensors and more.
“It’s a gravity bomb.”
“A gravity bomb?”
“It will potentially suck up a whole city block up.”
Eddie’s eyes widened.
“So, you weren’t lying around and having fun…”
But Nazar smiled thinly.
“Chris Fisher.”

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
