Chapter 111

Arc 13- Public Enemy No.1 - Part 13

"Sup~" Angela said cheerfully as she entered the dining room.

Unlike usual where she wears more formal clothes, she was wearing black tracksuit pants and a white tank top.

"You are way too cheerful this early in the morning," Nazar replied while he slumped on the table.

"You are way too annoying this early in the morning," she slapped him a few times on the back while laughing.

"Hi," Laura, who followed Angela into the room, said quietly.

Laura was wearing a blue circle skirt and a sleeveless creamy coloured top.

Unlike the messy hair of Emma and Angela, Laura’s was more refined.

"Morning," Emma replied to her.

On this rectangular table, Angela sat at the other head of the table, opposite Emma and Laura sat opposite Nazar.

But suddenly, Angela frowned.

"Hey, Emma, I will give you ten pounds, make me some breakfast please."

Emma stared at her blankly.

"Maybe if you add one zero to it."

Angela smiled thinly in a mischievous way as she narrowed her eyes.

She took out her phone and texted Emma.

"£010?"

Emma let out a sigh.

"...Fine."

"Yay!"

"I knew that was the case, so I already made breakfast for everyone."

"Ahh, that's just perfect--"

However, her cheerful smile vanished.

"Wait."

Emma said with a smug look on her face, "Nah, that's mine now."

Angela also slumped on the table.

"Giving people money is depressing."

"Cooking is easier," Nazar said.

"Only for those who can cook and like it."

"True.”

Laura watched them talk about food with a confused look on her face.

Is this a diner or something, she thought.

"So, what do you eat every other day then?" Nazar asked. "When Emma wasn't here."

"If there are no leftovers, I just eat crisp or something."

"Wow, they are treating you that badly, huh?" Laura said jokingly, with hints of pessimism.

"I know, right?" She raised her head and looked at Laura with wide starry eyes.

In return, Laura smiled stiffly.

“Mom used to make dinner usually, does she not do it anymore?” Nazar raised his head.

“Oh, she does.”

“Hm.”

Laura looked at Nazar and then Angela with a confused look on her face.

Emma, who entered the room with a tray in her hands, which had a few cups and plates in it, noticed the confused look on Laura’s face.

“You see, in this home, everyone cooks breakfast and lunch for themselves. In the past, mom and dad used to take turns and cook dinner.”

Hearing his father being mentioned, Nazar lowered his gaze in guilt.

“Now it’s just mom. Or me. Whoever is free. Although those two cannot cook.”

Angela scratched the back of her head as she smiled playfully, with hints of regret.

“Well...”

“And then there are those who can cook but won’t.”

Emma glanced at Nazar.

“Like this freeloader here.”

Nazar looked at her in reflex.

“I-I am not… How am I… Nevermind,” he let out a heavy sigh.

“Either way, most of the time, mom cooks dinner for everyone.”

“Ah,” Laura said, not sure how to feel about that.

Back in her home, her parents worked at different times, so the three meals were prepared by them.

“Aya’s cooking is top tier,” Angela made an ‘OK’ sign with the thumb and index finger of her right hand. “Ah, ask her to make steak or fish and chips. Nobody makes it like her.”

Nazar raised his hand slightly, “I could make it better than her.”

“No,” Angela replied immediately.

He frowned.

“My power is [Absolute Wish], the mightest ability in existence.”

Perhaps true, or perhaps it wasn’t, but Nazar did not realise that he was boasting about his power.

“If I wish for it, I can cook anything a hundred times better than anyone else.”

Angela stared at her blankly.

Laura and Emma paid him no heed.

Emma passed two cups to Laura, who then passed one of them to Angela.

“So? That’s not your skill, but your power.”

“...Okay, fine,” Nazar could not retaliate.

“And even with your powers, you won’t surpass hers.”

Nazar rested his face on the table.

"Are you useless without your powers?"

Nazar let out a heavy sigh.

“You know, you can never win against her, right?” Emma added.

“Yeaaahhh...” Nazar groaned out slowly.

“Ah, thanks, Emma,” Angela said as she picked up her cup.

"Thanks," Laura said slowly. "Hope it wasn't too much trouble."

“Hm?” she seemed confused for a moment. “Oh. It’s cool. I always make breakfast for Angela, so one more person is not a problem.”

“And still takes my money,” Angela shook her head slightly.

“Well, as a university student,” Emma placed her chest and smiled a witty smile. “I will take as much money as I can get.”

“Oh yeah, I feel you,” Laura added with a warm smile. “Not having money can be rough.”

Nazar stopped listening to their conversation as he sensed something above the planet.

He did not show an alarming expression but merely said, “I will be back in a minute,” before vanishing into thin air.

The others did not say much and continued with their conversation.

A few moments earlier:

“” said a dark red snake. “”

No, there really was a snake floating in the air above Earth.

“” said a humanoid tree.

Its skin was of a tree and even had a few branches coming out of its arms and head.

The snake’s eyes turned purple as it screamed.

Nazar’s spaceship was stationed nearby, but without Solace, it resembles an abandoned spaceship.

When the snake screamed, the ship started to wobble.

“”

The humanoid tree from planet Wona seemed surprised. This mercenary went by the name Dhunk.

“”

“”

“”

The snake was known as Viper.

The man speaking to him was a half robot half Vanahian from the planet Isavile, Vanaha Empire called Robonson.

Like most people of his Empire, he was a tall green man with green eyes, which did not have sclera. The right of his body was organic while the left was robotic.

Thousands of years ago, the king of the Vanaha Empire at that time, King Iket conquered their planet and tried to experiment on them, but it ended in failure. However, he did not abandon the planet.

“”

A faint purple glow started to cover the snake.

With a small groan, the spaceship was squashed as if it was a bug.

Dhunk seemed surprised.

With a shape that resembled a round monster with six round heads, extremely small limbs, a being made of pink and purple energy clicked its tongue. This mercenary goes by the name of Redostrous.

The remains of the large spaceship were thrown at the sun by Redostrous.

However, some of the stuff which was inside the spaceship was left behind, like a few issues of comics floating around in the freezing space.

The rest, however, were already burning in the sun with the spaceship.

Every moment, dozens of new mercenaries appeared.

A few minutes earlier, Jabalot Empire gave the mercenaries permission to attack Nazar and kill him. On his head, there were many bounties, so these mercenaries are here to collect it.

Some got here immediately using teleportation but others who flew under their own power or spaceship took a lot longer.

“”

“”

“”

They dared not attack the planet because of Lucifer's warning.

Instead, they waited a while and talked amongst themselves.

Everyone wanted to kill him, but suddenly a new mercenary appeared. He hated the idea of someone else even thinking about killing Nazar.

“” shouted a big burly man, who looked similar to Brawn, but he had a silver metal skin and his face resembled an ape. “”

His roar caused a shockwave to throw away the mercenaries miles around him.

Viper managed to put up a telekinetic shield to keep himself, Dhunk and Robonson safe.

However, that was a fatal mistake.

It revealed their location to a certain someone.

“”

“”

“You are so loud, donkey kong.”

Nazar, who appeared from thin air in front of him, spoke in an annoyed tone.

“I woke up like…”

Nazar looked down, crossed his left arm around his chest, and raised his right hand to his jaw as he rubbed it.

“Hm?”

He thought very deeply.

“Was it an hour ago? Or 30 minutes? Hmmm? This is so annoying.”

Caine gritted his teeth.

With a roar, he swung his arm.

Nazar let out a sigh.

He raised his hand and back slapped him on the face, throwing him to Mars.

Nazar made sure that his impact with the planet doesn’t destroy it.

Viper saw that and shrank in fear.

“”

“”

The Eye of Judgement only belongs to people with a certain level of power.

Redostrous, being the most powerful nearby, talked in fear how the Eye of Judgement was useless against Nazar.

Nazar usually lowers down his power levels so he doesn’t raise suspensions.

To many, he is as powerful as many other people of this universe. They don’t consider him the most powerful being around, and that warms his heart.

In his lowered down state, people can get a gauge on his power levels.

Unfortunately today, he hasn’t lowered down his power levels, so the Eye of Judgement doesn’t work on him.

He can still make himself visible to them, but he doesn't want to make this situation worse than it has to.

“”

With the wave of his hand, Redostrous, Viper and the others were thrown away to another solar system.

""

Behind him, a small man wearing a dark gown that covers his entire body spoke.

""

Nazar could see the psychic energy within him. To the surprise of neither, his energies were vast.

""

The psychic attacked Nazar's mind.

""

The dumbfounded psychic let out a child-like sound of fear.

""

(Wh.. What is this? This infinite darkness and evil… Darkness, evil, agony, pain, anxiety, regret, guilt… HOW?!) The psychic thought to himself.

""

"Oh, that was quick, Pawn Master."

When he attacked Nazar's mind, he found nothing but evil and darkness within his mind, which then caused the psychic to lose consciousness and fall down.

Without his mind being active, he started to freeze so Nazar teleported him to a nearby planet.

He scratched the back of his head.

"What's so fun about unlimited power, you dimwits?"

Nazar noticed that he was surrounded by even more mercenaries.

He sighed at how weak they were and how useless their efforts will prove.

"I really gotta stop sighing," he muttered to himself as he glanced at his foes.

While he was taking care of the others, it seems they have joined forces.

"Hm, thousands of them. Each at Eddie's level with the power output equivalent to at least a supernova."

Nazar couldn't help but chuckle.

"Well, I have no idea what they hope to gain here, but I should get rid of them quickly."

"No, let me do it, your highness."

Nazar looked up and saw a tall, handsome and muscular man in cyan coloured armour with two white wings shot out of his back.

"Baros," Nazar nodded.

Usually, Nazar would object to Baros referring to him in such manner, but Baros asked Nazar that he should address him with respect when in the presence of outsiders.

“My lord, you need not waste your time on these lowly mercenaries. I will take care of them.”

“Sure.”

Baros placed his right hand on his chest, lowered his head, and bowed slightly.

“My pleasure.”

In his hand, a sword appeared.

Nazar looked around and Baros started to attack the mercenaries.

“Ah, my comics… Years and years of collecting...”

He let out another heavy sigh.

Suddenly, his face brimmed with a wide smile and glittering eyes when he saw a yellow envelope.

“Is that...”

He rushed to it and picked it up.

Looking inside, the four comics Eddie had given him were still safe.

Nazar got a gift from him on his birthday and it contained a few issues of a comic, which were signed by the creators.

“That’s better,” he let out a sigh of relief.

Just near him, Baros ploughed through the number of mercenaries.

(Worthless individuals without a reasonable thought in their head,) Baros thought as he tightened his grip on his sword. (The moment they saw the high number on the bounties, they tried to attack Nazar. They did not take a moment to realise they cannot do anything against him.)

Baros swung his sword and it cut through the soul of his opponent. He did not kill him, but merely damaged him and incapacitated him for now.

He did not even glance at the man who was screaming.

From the corner of his eyes, he noticed an enemy coming at him at a fast speed.

Moving the sword to his left hand, he glanced at his right empty palm.

In it, he gathered a lot of energy.

Taking a 90 degrees turn to the right, he was now facing the coming enemy.

Baros did not even have to use the [Eye of Judgement] to realise how powerful his coming opponent is.

In the past, he would have used a [Multi-Barrier] spell, but now, he smiled arrogantly.

Not too long ago, he found out what he truly was. He is a half-angel and half-mortal.

This rare hybridization grants him immense powers. So, he doesn't need to worry about being careful against such low-level mercenaries.

In his palm, he gathered red, blue, black and purple energy.

He analysed his opponent with his eyes.

(A hybridization of a humanoid creature and a spider from Cephaidor called Super Spider, I see. They naturally possess vast reactive abilities and their agility is great. Physical strength, however, is lacking but they do make up for it in their durability.)

Baros was not fazed but his opponent.

Instead, he increased his speed and shot himself at his opponent.

The spider and humanoid opponent moved out of Baros’ way with ease.

Shooting a web from his index finger, he caught on to the back of Baros.

Super Spider tried to pull Baros to himself, but his eyes suddenly opened in surprise.

Baros did not fight back against being pulled by the Spider’s web.

Quickly, he looked at Baros’ hand and saw an energy ball.

“”

(Did he catch on…?)

A smirk appeared on Baros’ face.

(This could work too.)

He moved the wings behind his back and cut off the spider’s web.

Super Spider clicked his tongue.

Baros looked at the energy ball in his palm and increased its power.

“This is taking longer than I expected...”

Baros took a deep breath.

The spider moved around him at a fast speed and Baros closely followed him with his eyes.

“1… 2… 3...”

The spider shot webs at Baros once more.

Baros bent his back unnaturally and dodged the webs.

Super Spider threw a kick at Baros’ back but it did not hit him.

He was trying to kick Baros in the back with a knife which came out of his shoe.

Baros swung his left hand backwards and used that to turn around and face the Spider.

If the Super Spider’s kick hit Baros in this angle, it will not do any damage and weaken his defence.

So, he tried to jump back.

But.

“Heh.”

Behind the Super Spider, an invisible wall of energy had appeared and stopped him from jumping back.

In Baros’ right hand, the energy shone brightly.

Glancing at his left and right, Spider tried to move but it was too late.

Baros slammed the energy in his face, pulverising his head.

Baros took a few breaths before continuing to attack the others.

He held the sword in his right hand once again.

Concentrating his energies into it, he swung it, releasing a large burst of energy which knocked away many.

Nazar glanced at him from the corner of his eyes and said, “Huh, impressive.”

This is the first time he saw Baros in action.

He has seen him battle enemies before, but Baros never let out everything he had. Or even if he did let out, Nazar missed his chance to see it.

Last time Baros let all out was against Annihilator during the [Execution Agenda] but Nazar was not there to watch him fight.

“Well, I was worried for nothing,” he muttered as he continued to watch Baros battle.

Baros was being covered by the mercenaries.

He did not have enough room to attack them back.

So, he flapped his wings furiously.

The more the wings flapped, it started to generate heat.

(I have never tried this with the new wings, but with my energy wings, I could generate heat comparable to the sun.)

From the corner of his eyes, he noticed that some of the mercenaries were trying to increase the distance between them.

(I have never tried this, but...)

He narrowed his eyes.

Clenching his muscles, grinding his teeth, the wings flapped faster and faster.

However, that was not what he was trying to do.

He was collecting all the energy he could into his body and prepared to unleash it at once.

But.

"Stop," said a voice that was both divine and demonic. "Stand back. He is mine."

Once the heavy voice was heard, everyone jumped back in reflex.

Everyone had heard that in their own language, which caused them even more fear.

He was not using a translation device, but it was his power.

Even Baros' body jerked.

"You are…"

"From the dead reality of Universe-1987, I alone survived. I, who thought who could stand toe to toe with the mighty Lucifer… a mistake. The greatest mistake of any mortal, thinking they can challenge him."

Nazar narrowed his eyes.

"Now I wander around endlessly, looking for powerful people to kill. I need the power to defeat Lucifer."

He was almost as tall as Nazar and muscular man with flowing glowing blonde hair, glowing blue eyes and glowing white face.

"King Iket," Nazar said slowly.

"Call me…"

From his back, two white wings which ends were covered in dark energies.

"[Angel Fall]!"

30,000 years ago, when Lucifer created Earth, many of the alien empires wanted to make it part of them. To make an example, Lucifer destroyed the Brot Empire.

King Iket of Vanaha Empire created a weapon that could potentially take on an angel -- Angel Fall.

When this weapon is activated, every member of the Vanaha Empire falls to the ground since it uses their life force as a power source.

This weapon was deemed too powerful, so it was not used in this timeline, not even when Iket died at the hands of Annihilator.

But in Universe-1987, he had clearly used it.

The angel looking king of Vanaha from a dead reality launched himself at Baros.

The mercenaries at that moment took steps back and left the battlefield.

Unlike Nazar whose power was revealed just now, King Iket is very well known across the cosmos.

He was known as the Divine King, Cosmic Destroyer, Cosmic Messiah, and Cosmic Conquer.

Anyone who stood against the Vanaha Empire never saw the sun rise again.

What caused everyone to fear him is that he would take care of these problems all by himself, using his Divine Power.

With powerful blows that could shatter planets, with movements swifter than light and a mind that could compete against a supercomputer and stand atop, he was known as King Iket, the Divine King of Vanaha Empire.

Just seeing the face, the mercenaries run away. He was not the monster they wanted to face.

(He is manipulating the laws and physics of the universe on such a level...) Nazar thought about it in a worried manner. (He is an incomplete angel, so he doesn’t have complete control over his powers.)

Angels are higher dimensional beings, just them being here changes the laws of the world so they can fit in it.

With Angel Fall, Iket becomes an incomplete, artificial angel.

He does not fit in with the rest of the universe, so the universe changes around to let him fit in.

Since he is incomplete, he cannot control what is changed around him.

Angels, even half angels like Baros and Alice, can control what is changed around them. Their changes are limited, but Iket has no such control, so the changes are vast and dangerous.

Nazar was about to move, but Baros held out his hand.

“Please.”

Nazar wondered if he should reject his offer and take care of Iket immediately, but seeing Baros be serious about this, he wanted to let him take care of it.

“You sure?”

He nodded.

“Finish it quickly, then.”

“Yes, my lord.”

Baros tightened his grip on his sword and shot himself at Iket.

Nazar watched from afar as Baros battled the artificial angel.

“Hmm. Maybe I should--”

“Don’t,” said a voice, cutting off Nazar. “He is trying to prove himself. To himself, to you, to his kingdom, and to the rest of the universe.”

“I see… !!”

Nazar turned around in reflex and saw someone behind him.

“You...”

"Yo," the other person waved their hand. "We need to talk, Prime.”
